• Hotel location was wonderful. Requested and was given connecting rooms as I was with kids. Loved that.
• The food in the restaurant is just OK.

“The hotel's location can't be beat. It's a half of a block away from Times Square, so easy to walk to activities. Close to all the good restaurants, shops, Broadway shows and tour buses. We had connecting rooms which was wonderful for my family with kids. Rooms and beds were very comfortable. Our rooms were also very quiet at night which made it very pleasant as I've stayed in another large upscale hotel (Hyatt) in New York City before which was extremely loud in the night due to hotel catering to large loud young convention groups who'd hang around in the hallways at 2 and 3 am and putting families on the same floor. I'd come back to the Millennium Broadway in a Heartbeat. Great hotel.”

“This hotel is way over rated. It is not a 4-star hotel. Two stars would be generous. The Millennium in Times Square is tired, dark, dreary, and the best part of my room was leaving it.”

• The second room I got was very nice, about 3.5 star room.
• The first room I got was not clean and just horrible.

“The first room I got had stained carpet, had chipped paint, trim was coming loose, door would not catch. I complained and got another room. It was very nice and close to 4 star, at least 3.5 star. The second room had been updated and was very nice. Good bed.”

• The room was small. Very stuffy air quality. TV fuzzy picture, garbled sound. Could hear visitors in rooms next door.

“The hotel is impressive as you enter the lobby. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. We enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere in contrast to the busy streets of Times Square. The room was small for my husband, daughter and me. We were most happy to have the opportunity to visit the city without paying full price for this room. We spent most of our stay "in the city" and not in our room, so to spend more money for luxury would not make sense in our case.”

• I had no problems with this hotel.

“The hotel was clean and my room had a decent sized sleeping area and bathroom. The location was superb in midtown Manhattan 1/2 block from Times Square. There is a fitness area that is generic, but clean. The lobby is really more like a hallway. However, that is inconsequential if your goal is to find a nice room that is centrally located in Manhattan and you plan to spend your time out and about in the city. That is what I wanted and the hotel worked out very well for me.”

• Housekeeping failed to provide wash cloths and bathmat. Maid was unpleasant on one occasion.

“Nice hotel 1/2 block from Times Square, 3 blocks from 5th Avenue shopping, 11 (short) blocks from the Empire State Building. Beautiful lobby; courteous, helpful concierge. Great place to stay if any of these are your destination.”

“Clean, great staff, wonderful location, great if you are not going to be spending a lot of time in the room. But, kind of no frills, it was nice but there was little effort to go the extra step and make the hotel a luxury experience.”

• 45th street entrance was closed after 11. Shower was weak. On arrival front desk decidedly unfriendly.

• Check-in time was late afternoon, 4pm.

“Front desk would not allow early check-in for a non-smoker room unless we upgraded to a suite for additional ~$200/night. Only offered early check-in for smoker room and would not allow swapping rooms later. Housekeeping service sub par. Hypodermic needles discovered by bedside at arrival. Non-smoking room reeked of cigarettes. Location was great, right in the middle of Time Square. Awesome views from our room!”

• I felt like a suspect when trying to check in.

“The hotel was in a great location, nice and clean. I was not as pleased with the front desk. I felt as if I were being treated differently. I stood in the very crowded lobby for well over an hour waiting for someone to tell me what was going on, while my husband was at home trying to straighten things out for me. I was late for an appointment and the evening was completely thrown off. Maybe a free night would make up for a ruined evening in the city.”

• Charged $45.00 (entire day) for only one extra hour of parking. Should be prorated for such a short period of time.

“Very new, nice and clean hotel in the heart of Times Square. They upgraded us to a King room for no charge upon check in which was nice. This is the second time we stayed at the Millennium Broadway and the second time we were upgraded.”

• Beautiful art deco renovated lobby with attractive, clean accommodations.
• Room size a bit disappointing. Should have only one bed instead of 2 full.

“Very conveniently located for theatre, family or the busy business traveler. I arrived 6 hours late and the courteous desk staff provided me with a delivery menu for food, which I ordered after midnight and was sent quickly and hot. Staff was VERY hospitable, right down to my lost luggage pick-up tag. Rooms are cozy but very efficient. Would stay again.”

• Room old fashioned, bed pillows hard and very uncomfortable.

“The location is great for the theater, shopping, tourist attractions, etc. The hotel itself does not feel like a 4 star at all. It is dark and old and furnishings uncomfortable. There were no real amenities like coffee available which is a simple thing and available at far less expensive hotels. Again, the location and front desk staff were the best part.”

• Only one restaurant, however it was excellent.

“Excellent location for enjoying Times Square and Broadway. Walking location to many attractions. Very friendly staff, if you needed anything, they were ready, willing and able. Excellent concierge service. Gave us church times, AA meeting list as we were travelers, and found me a hair salon on a Sunday to look nice for a show.”

“The location of the hotel is great. Our room however seemed dingy and part of the furniture was broken. There was some construction going on in the room above us one morning while we were still trying to sleep. The other "four-star" hotels in the area are much nicer. The lobby is somewhat bland and also in need of an upgrade. I got a good price, can't complain too much.”

• Large (for NYC) corner room on 40th floor, beautiful views, nice bathroom.
• Difficult place to catch a cab at busy times.

“We came to attend the theater and the hotel was 2 blocks from where we wanted to be; also very convenient to other attractions. Very friendly staff, we were upgraded so the room was quite large with great views of the city, flat screen TV and large bathroom. Restaurant and lounge are pricey and just okay but there are plenty of places nearby. This was one of the best values I have ever had in a New York hotel. Would recommend and would stay there again.”

“Had to get a New York City hotel for 1 night on extremely short notice and could not have been more pleased. Had an incredible view from the 45th floor toward the Chrysler building. Lots of restaurants nearby and a deli (a bit pricey) across the street.”

“Hotel was conveniently located midtown in the theatre district. Although noisy area, was on a high enough floor that street noise was not bothersome. Hotel was good to offer to put mini-refrigerator in hotel room, although I did not do that. Hailing a taxi outside hotel was difficult because it was a busy area. Hotel was generally clean and nice in appearance. Staff was mostly friendly and courteous.”

• Musty room, clogged shower drain.

“I've had good experiences at this hotel before, but this time the room was damp and musty and I was unable to improve the situation with the AC controls. Also, the shower drain was nearly clogged so that by the end of the shower I was standing in 6 inches of water. However, the common spaces are beautiful and the location can't be beat. Other nearby hotels of the 4-star level are better all around, to be honest.”

• The hotel's location is terrific. Steps away from Times Square and easy access to the sites in that area.
• The hotel lobby was sparse, no where to sit and wait if need be.

“We requested a High Floor (only as high as our "room type" would allow us) and a King bed was given their 2nd lowest floor and two oversized twin beds. I can't remember the last time I stayed at a hotel that didn't offer coffee in the room. It was good that there was a star bucks next door, but inconvenient to have to go out in public before your day has begun.”
