• Large rooms, was a suite.
• Furniture was beat up.

“Good value. It was a true 1 bedroom suite, and had plenty of room. Could have been a little cleaner and the furniture showed a lot of wear and tear.”

• Separate bedroom from living area with door.
• Noisy bathroom fan, warm living area.

“Tough market. Starting to be dated. Should invest in LCD HDTV as a promotional tool for being up to date. Living area does not have AC vent so it stays warm in the summer. Ceiling fan helps but just barely. AC elevator as this will give consumer a better feel about the hotel. Hot elevators equal cheap & low class.”

• Nice staff, large suite room layout, ideal for families.
• Room had an unsightly broken countertop, and a dirty sink.

• Very Clean. Continental breakfast with hot eggs and bacon.
• The eggs were a little dried out, though we arrived at breakfast at 8:30.

“This was a suite, with a sofa, two TVs, a refrigerator/freezer, microwave and sink. The staff let my daughter and brings our mountain bikes up to our room for safekeeping. Complimentary continental breakfast good with egos and French toast (had to use a toaster), eggs, and bacon, cereal. Assorted fruits, instant oatmeal and juice were also available. This hotel was also very close to campus.”

• The customer service was outstanding and the facility is comfortable.
• The carpet is quite dirty, needs to be cleaned and better maintained.

“I was in the College Station area for a family emergency, both of my grandparents were hospitalized. The outstanding customer service a the nice room provided a refuge for me to relax and unwind. I will return to the College Station area next week and I hope to stay at the same hotel.”

• Enjoyed the suite aspect, was able to watch TV without disturbing spouse & child.

“Overall we enjoyed our stay, the suit was very clean and functional. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We will certainly stay again, we are frequent visitors to the Bryan/College Station area.”

• The suite had plenty of room for adult & 2 old children. Like 2 TV setup. Had laundry room for guests.
• None.

“The hotel staff was very friendly & very accommodating. Plenty of dining places nearby within walking distance. Clean pool. Good breakfast choices which included hot food choices such as eggs, bacon or sausage & hot biscuits every morning.”

• The exercise room doesn't have much at all. They could at least spot for some weights.

“A really nice hotel with super friendly staff. Don't expect much from the exercise room. It mostly has broken down equipment and 20 lbs. of weights. The pool is nice, though, and the rooms are excellent. The breakfast was above average.”

• Wireless internet has never worked well at this hotel.

“The air conditioner was not working, maintenance had already left for the evening and no other available rooms. Front desk couldn't unlock door where portable fans are kept, good news was it was only at 80 in the room. The only thing that really bothered me about the situation was that not one person I talked to even said they were sorry.”

• The room was huge. It may have been because they put us in a handicapped room (not a request), but the room was really big.
• We had requested a late checkout, and it was granted (1:00 p.m.). However, two separate times, two separate cleaning ladies knocked on our door 10 & 12.

“I would have appreciated the front desk informing the cleaning staff of our late departure, however, I would recommend this hotel.”

“Our stay at the Hawthorne in College Station was one of the best. The accommodations were excellent, we especially liked the bedroom/suite, that allowed one to watch TV or read while the spouse slept or watched other programs without bothering one another.”

• Rude front desk. Housekeeping woke us at 8.

“This hotel is very nice. With a little customer service training the front desk staff could be a little more tactful and beneficial. For vacationers, housekeeping might want to refrain from knocking on the doors first thing in the morning.”

• Room was not very clean.

“Hotel was nice enough on the outside, but the guest room smelled like body odor and was not very clean. We found a used towel hanging on the back of the bathroom door and a bottle cap under one of the chairs. I would not rank this hotel as a 2.5 star until some changes are made.”

• I really like the layout of the rooms and the beds are very comfortable. These are very high priorities when staying in a hotel.
• Not enough parking. Loud A/C units.

• Bathroom door would not shut and they did not come fix it.

“Great location, near campus, restaurants. Huge room, two actually. Clean, great bed. However, the bathroom door would not shut all the way. Told the front desk our first day there, and no one had addressed it by the third day when we checked out.”

“For some reason instead of resolving issues with their wireless internet they have chosen to just offer everyone Ethernet cables. Business travelers beware, only one port per suite. This has been a problem at this hotel my last 6 or 7 visits. Other than this problem, its great.”

• Doors were easy to get through.
• Hotel was decorated like a cardboard box.

“Breakfast meal was crap; tasteless and poor presentation. I looked for cockroach legs in food because it tasted so bad. No toaster for bread. Food service person continually scratched her crotch and smelled her fingers.”

• The family room portion of the suite could use something to make it more attractive/comfortable.

“The hotel overall was very nice and clean, the layout of the suite was not as good as other suite hotels (for a business traveler) as I have been in, but it its a typical layout for this type of property. The TV in the non-bedroom portion of the suite could have been larger. Overall I was very happy and would consider staying for an extended stay should I be in that town for business.”

• Efficient, met our needs for a quick trip.
• Our bathroom door handle was broken. Passing by conference room and I noticed it was being used as a sort of storage room. Looked unattractive.

• The lady serving breakfast greeted us with a Hello.
• Everything! Check-in, the room, wake-up call, the cleanliness I could go on.

“This was the worst hotel I have ever stayed in, and our family travel for business, pleasure and for soccer. I will definitely not recommend this place to anyone. You would be better off having your family sleeping in the car.”

• The breakfast bar was ravaged by 9:00 am.

“The rooms were large and clean. We enjoyed the two TVs and the separate sitting room from the bedroom. The breakfast bar was depleted and in disorder when we went arrived around 9 am.”
