• It was close to what
  I wanted to see which was an NBA game.
• There was cracks in the ceiling try to shut the curtain the stick was on the floor.

• I loved the old building and the large room with wood flooring.
• The shower curtain was not entirely clean and I had to walk to the parking garage.

“I would recommend this hotel. The old historic building was lovely and the king room was large. The shower curtain needed scrubbing and the shower water was not hot, but other than that I liked the room.”

• The historic building.
• The water was not hot or warm enough for the whirlpool tub.

“The hotel was great. The room was nice and spacious the location was great for walking distance to the mall and rock and roll hall of fame. The breakfast bar just needed to be restocked more frequently. My only dislike of the trip was the fact it was cold and rainy, but hotel can’t help with that.”

• Staff at the lobby was friendly/courteous. Close to ball park. Nice big room, great for the price.
• Carpets had a few unsightly stains & a little old looking. Construction across the street was unsightly.

“Stayed for one night passing through Ohio. Had never been to Cleveland. Seemed like a decent location although the construction across the street detracted from the visual appeal. Close to Baseball park, and had a nice assortment local establishments to visit. Parking around the corner in public facility for $12, validated by hotel, which allowed as many ins/outs as desired. Supposedly close to Rock & Roll hall of fame. Would have liked to stay an extra day or so. The free upgrade to the room was really nice.”

• Area of hotel under major construction.

“The location was good and the room was clean, but there was one problem. Nobody informed us that the street, this hotel is on, is under major construction, and that it is very hard to find this hotel if you do not know downtown Cleveland well.”

• Very good staff saved money on the amenities b/c it Holiday Inn Express.
• The coffee in the rooms is not good at all, broken ice machines.

“The ice machines were all broken, finally the desk sent us to the 9th floor for ice, we were on the 5th. The staff was great! Good directions and advice for local dining. Great location, everything in walking distance including the rock and roll hall of fame.”

• Excellent breakfast; friendly breakfast room staff.
• Too many things.

“1. I was not provided an extra bed but I ended up paying for it anyway. 2. The toilet flush did not work and we had to move rooms with luggage and young child to another room in the middle of the night. 3. The hotel's elevators need magnetic room key cards to operate. My son got stuck in the elevator. My own cards did not work half the time. Very frustrating experience. 4. The TV set did not work and it took the hotel forever to send a person to fix it and he took a long time to fix it, by that time we were too tired to watch the telly and just went to sleep thereby missing an important tennis match (Indian Wells Open Tournament - Nadal Versus Blake match).”

• Convenience to the event we went to see in Cleveland.
• Although adequate, the clerk who checked us in was not that efficient or friendly.

“The hotel was great. It was very easy to locate in the city and it was very close to the arena that our event was at. There were great restaurants and night life very close to it as well, and was within walking distance to the Rock and Roll Hall of fame and waterfront. The quality of the hotel was great and our room was much nicer than we anticipated for the cost we got it at. All in all, a great experience.”

• The breakfast (& breakfast staff) was great!
• The night desk clerk was cranky and the maid service was poor.

“The facilities at this establishment and the location are appropriate for downtown locations. The maid service was definitely lacking. There was hair all over our bathroom, and one day the maid didn't even come. The telephone and alarm clock were broken. We made the staff aware of the situation, but they were not fixed or replaced. Additionally, we do not recommend being outside after dark. We were nearly mugged a block from the hotel. The next day, we were advised by hotel staff and a police officer not to walk after dark, nor to use public transit after 8 pm. All the city/business employees that we dealt with (with the exception of the night desk clerk) were extremely helpful, but there are an extremely large number of panhandlers. We did not feel safe.”

• The size and quality of the room itself. The friendliness of the staff.
• There was nothing that we did not like; however, in the future it would be helpful to let guests know about the rapid transit train from the airport.

“We arrived late at the hotel, after 11pm. Check in was uncomplicated. We were amazed at the size of the room. The shower was great. The location between Jacobss field and the convention center was excellent. Sammy's Cafe (the little cafe in the hotel) served the best soup in town and was an easy way for us to get a quick lunch. Beds and pillows were superb. Best kept secret in Cleveland.”

• The room was huge and very amenable.
• The reception of the area is an old bank lobby. It was cold and uninviting.

“This hotel has been created by renovating an old bank building. The rooms are in the upper office levels of the building. The rooms however are palatial (at least the one I was in was). Windows look out over the canyons of downtown Cleveland, which is not much of a view.”

• The hotel is in an old bank building.
• Room cleaning staff seems a little slow.

“I was pleasantly surprised to get such a nice hotel for relatively little. It's a great location, walking distance to the mall and subway stops, with plenty of shops and restaurants around. Euclid avenue is currently under major construction, but the hotel was a great value.”

• We were short a few towels but room service was quick to drop off some extras.

• Did not like that parking was so far away.

“The hotel night staff was not very helpful for being there for the first time. The room smelled stuffy and foul. The day staff was friendly and helpful. The breakfast in the hotel was very nice and convenient. Did not like having to walk so far through the hallways from the parking garage to the room. The room was very spacious. In a room beside us people were partying all night long and were extremely loud. No one came to ask them to hold it down. Did not sleep the second night because of this extreme rudeness that was not stopped. They even pounded on our door, were yelling in the halls, screaming in their room and kept slamming doors over and over again until 4am. Did not feel safe.”

• Great corner room with huge windows and 10' ceilings.
• The recommended parking garage is a hassle and added an additional $15 to the stay.

“Great downtown location with well appointed, large rooms. My corner room had three large windows and high ceilings, making the already large room seem even bigger. The parking garage is not attached to the actual hotel so you have to navigate through a bank and a host of hallways to find the front desk. In addition, the garage charges a $12 nightly fee.”

• I loved the historic building it was in.
• The parking charge of 12.00 was not disclosed till later & was around the block.

“this hotel was very pretty in a historic building, I thought it was very clean and the staff were very helpful with directions and all accommodations I did not like the parking situation, but realize it was downtown Cleveland, however it should have been provided with the room, instead of an extra charge! also did not like the fact that you had to travel through another building to get to the ramp! but all other aspects of this hotel and my stay were great!”

• Non-smoking room smelled of smoke, Cleveland feels dangerous when no events are happening.

• The location was perfect!

“We were within walking distance of Jacobs Field and the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. It was a good Hotel to stay at with my 3 nephews ages 14, 13 and 6. They really enjoyed the game room!”
