  • Noisy, small bathrooms, outdated beds and bedding.

“Not a four star hotel. Wonderful facade but the rooms don't hold up to the lobby. Will not return. Noisy! Old polyester bedspreads had no duet covers and pillow-top beds. Needs work!”

“Our door to our room was internally locked. After waiting twenty minutes, security let us in and resolved the problem. Upon arriving back to our room, the door was internally locked again. It was a huge hassle to have someone let us in each time!”

“For the price, the Millennium Hotel was good for the two nights that we stayed. We had to pay for parking, and could only walk to one event during our stay, (a Reds Baseball game). Unfortunately, because of the price, we did not receive a continental breakfast. The bathtub didn't drain water well at all and the ice machine on our floor wasn't working. However, the hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. The hotel overall seemed clean.”

  • The location is excellent both for walking and car travel.
  • It was clear that this is an older hotel that hasn't been well kept.

“This hotel is located right in downtown and connected to the Duke Energy (Convention) center. If you're just looking for an inexpensive place to sleep, this might be right up your alley. The room was small, the TV channels available were a bizarre mix of ESPN networks, News channels and little else. Since this was a leisure trip, I left my computer at home expecting to use the business center to check email or find directions. They do have a business center, but it is a pay per minute/sheet printed model with a slow connection and computers that were unreliable at best. The pool is a plus, but since it's outdoors in Cincinnati, that's only useful during the summer months and then only when it isn't raining.”

  • Valet service was quick and efficient since I had to leave the hotel more than a few times.
  • Check-in line was extremely long. Clerk rushed me through and was unfriendly.

“The location was convenient, hotel mapped out so that it was very guest friendly. Valet very convenient but $20 overnight fee seems a bit steep for hotel guests.”

  • I liked the cleanliness of the hotel. Most of the staff was very friendly and helpful.
  • I didn't like the location. That was my fault. I had to pay for parking.

“The hotel itself was very nice, but I had some phone calls on my bill that I did not make. The hotel receptionist was very rude and said there must have been a ghost maid in my room who made the calls. The time the calls were made I wasn't even in the hotel.”

  • Majority of staff was very friendly and helpful.
  • Only complaint is high, unexpected parking charges.

“We were very pleased with the hotel's facilities, but were caught off guard by just a couple of things. First, there was an additional parking charge of $20 per day for valet parking. The only other parking options were other garages/lots nearby that charged nearly that much per day with no in and out privileges. There was no way to anticipate or avoid this extra $60 expense (for three days). I expect parking to be included in my room cost. Another issue was that they have a policy of not allowing any outside food or drinks in the hotel. We pretty much ignored this and snuck stuff in in our bags, but it did mean we couldn't have a pizza delivered if we wanted to. But it really was a nice hotel, so overall I'm happy with our stay.”

“Check in located at opposite end of where we entered. No one pointed us in the correct location. Once we received the room the twin towers made sense. Hotel requires valet parking which costs an additional $20 per day. Room was a bit small but well appointed. House keeping staff very attentive.”

  • For the star rating (3) the beds were horrible. They were terribly hard!

“The hotel is very convenient to area attractions, being only a few blocks away from the Great American Ballpark, etc. The staff was friendly and helpful and the rooms are very clean. While the rooms have been updated to have a contemporary feeling, the hotel has sacrificed comfort; the beds are platform style and, to my observance, did not include box springs. They were hard and uncomfortable. Perhaps all the beds are not like this and I just happened to get an uncomfortable double bed. Other than this, I was satisfied with the quality of the hotel. If you're in town for a day or two and need a convenient, clean, modern place to stay at a reasonable price, this hotel is for you.”

  • Great location in relation to highways and local attractions.
  • Business center a frustration rather than a help!

“Hotel a few short blocks off the interstate we were traveling, but very much in the center of downtown near restaurants, Walgreen's, Cincinnati tourist sites and baseball field. Stayed in North Tower and room comfortable. Oddly hard beds probably our only complaint about the room. Hovering valets at check-in. Not really helpful, just hovering--more of an impediment. In the morning I needed to print our driving instructions for the next day and went to the business center. I pulled up documents to find the printer it was connected to was out of order although not noted on the computer. Put credit information on other computer and pulled up documents to print. Printer also did not work. Hotel staff allowed me to print in their office.”

“Considering the price of this hotel, we are very pleased with our stay. The decor in the room is very dated, particularly the bedspread. We waited in line to check in for about 15 minutes and only 3 agents were checking guests in. I was surprised to see that few people working on a sold out night. I would not stay again.”

  • Room not cleaned until 5:00 PM, interfering with my schedule. No newspaper offered.

“The Millennium's best attribute is its location in downtown Cincinnati, near good restaurants and the interstate. The restaurant is average-decent food but does not stay open for late diners, and a limited bar selection (none of my favorite bourbons). Neither sauna nor hot tub. Plenty of parking, but not affiliated with the hotel. Friendly, helpful front desk staff but my room was not cleaned until five in the afternoon, even after I called. Clean enough room, but shower curtain smelled sour. Lack of bright light and a close-up mirror made makeup application inconvenient. Quiet and I felt safe at all times, including returning to my room late at night.”

  • A lot of hype, however hotel leaves a lot to be desired.

“This hotel is very deceiving. One might think that it is as nice as other hotels in the area. Upon late arrival (the hotel would not allow early check in) we found out that the hotel valet parking was full and couldn't accommodate us, so we were stuck driving around the city searching for parking. Upon check in, the staff was very young and rude -- unprofessional. Getting up to the room we immediately noticed that it was smaller than the size of our bedroom and we did not get the king bed that we requested. The chair in the room was dirty and although the bedding looked clean we were left hoping that it was truly clean. Our view was the shiny top of the roof to the Convention Center which glared into the room as the sun hit it. We couldn't even keep our curtains open, however even if we could we still wouldn't have that romantic city view that we were after. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.”

  • Excellent location. Close to Fountain Square and walking distance to Great American Ballpark.
  • Hotel valet parking ($20/day) filled up quickly, had to use city garage across the street, though it was cheaper at $8/day.

“Enjoyable stay at the Millennium Hotel 5/16/08-5/17/08. Room was clean, though a little small. Beds were comfortable with very good bedding. Bathroom was also clean, with nice "thirsty" towels. There is a lack of parking availability at the hotel especially when there are conventions being held there (NCAA offensive line coaches the weekend we were there) though there is a city garage adjacent to the hotel at a rate of $8/day (probably not as much security as their valet). Check-in was relatively quick and painless, which is always a plus!”

“The hotel itself was nice. The room was clean and comfortable. Parking, however, was a disaster. When my partner and I arrived at the hotel to check-in, valet parking was full and the hotel staff was not very helpful in trying to help us find parking. Thankfully, we found parking in a parking garage, across the street for $8 (which definitely beats the $20, the hotel wanted to charge for valet parking). Also, my partner and I requested a late check out, but it was not granted due to the "high volume of check-ins". Overall, we had a nice stay but we will be staying somewhere else the next time we're in Cincinnati.”

  • The fan outside the window kept us up all night long. It needs to have a sound barrier.

“The main lobby with faux-marble floors and grand piano, might lead one to think that a memorable stay is ahead. Unfortunately, the memories may be more negative than positive. The staff tends to be unresponsive to problems, and difficult to understand. Our room on this stay was dark and dingy. The carpet showed much wear and tear. The bathroom fixtures were leaky, and the room's anemic heater was very noisy. The patio door leaked, and during a modest rain shower, the carpeting was soaked. The TV had minimal cable channels, and not a sign of Wi-Fi. All of the allure of this hotel is in the lobby. From there, it's all downhill.”

“This hotel needs a renovation. The bath tile had mold, the room was outdated. Seemed to be a host for younger parties resulting in several drunk guests, fights, etc. Not sure if this is a normal weekend there or not. Hotel security did respond and call police.”

  • It was an attractive hotel and room, nothing extra special about the room.
  • Parking was very expensive. Will just not include downtown areas in search next time.

“This would be a great hotel for the air traveler, shuttle from airport. However, for an automobile traveler, parking was pricing and inconvenient.”
