“The hotel itself is very nice. However, rooms on the inner side of the halls (like the one we stayed in) have old, thin windows that look out onto the pool and restaurant. It was a beautiful hotel. Much higher end than I would generally expect from a Best Western. Free and reliable high-speed Internet is becoming a rare treat which this hotel had.” Dec 9, 2009 by
Amanda from Oakville,Canada
“We enjoyed our stay very much. Lots of great pubs and restaurants in the immediate area and an easy 15minutes walk to the lower old town. Our room was a great size and the bed was very comfortable.” Oct 27, 2009 by
George from Peterborough,Canada
“Room was dark and dingy, our room was not serviced . Valet parking inconvenient.” Oct 24, 2009 by
Laura from Boca Raton,FL
“It was a great bargain for the price accepted. The room was nicely furnished with safe. Important when traveling with a passport.” Oct 18, 2009 by
WF from Calgary
“My wife and I (in our early 60s) found this hotel to be in easy walking distance to the Old City, close to the cruise ship terminal for our eventual departure, and close to numerous amenities. There is a very good restaurant in the hotel, but 1/2 block away is a Van Houtte coffee outlet that also has full breakfasts, lunch etc. The staff at this Best Western could not have been friendlier and we received a newly refurbished room. We have noted comments - possibly on this site - that the rooms are small, but from memory, the basic rooms at a couple of the Fairmont chain are about the same size and 3 times more expensive! The bed was very comfortable, there was minimal outside traffic noise (with the window open all night) and the room was fully equipped with a new coffee maker, plus all the expected amenities (no fridge however). There were a number of pre-cruise guests staying at this hotel and everyone was pleased with the service, especially front desk and concierge. We did not use a rental car or our own vehicle, so cannot comment on the parking arrangement of valet-only parking nearby. Due to an error by our air miles reward provider, the paperwork was not correctly processed for the hotel to bill our travel miles redemption center. Again, a very helpful young lady at the front desk made the necessary telephone calls to our air miles company and had it all sorted out in a matter of 10 minutes or so. All-in-all a very pleasant stay in a wonderful hotel and city.” Sep 18, 2009 by

“Won't recommend to friends.” Sep 7, 2009 by
Sam from Fairfax,IA
“Excellent value for the money. Clean, modern hotel situated in Central Quebec City.” Sep 3, 2009 by
Darlene from Miramichi,Canada
“I really enjoyed the room and the food was delicious in the restaurant, the down side is the charges for valet parking.” Sep 3, 2009 by
Neil from Ringoes,NJ
“Pleasantly pleased except that we would like to have been closer to the old city. That, however, is not the fault of the hotel! (Long walk up steep hills to get there.)” Aug 18, 2009 by
Albert from St Louis,MO
“Comfortable bed, clean, friendly staff, otherwise disappointing for the price.” Aug 4, 2009 by
John from Ontario,Canada
“Room good ,restaurant not good ,staff good. parking very very bad .” Jul 11, 2009 by

“We are very happy with the hotel” Jul 4, 2009 by

“I got what I paid for. It is a good business man's hotel. It was adequate--nothing outstanding.” Jun 15, 2009 by
Santiago from Rutherford,NJ
“Good hotel for the price. Not great, but def adequate. Good rooms, staff.” May 29, 2009 by
Grant from Toronto,Canada
“Inexpensive hotel, clean room, decent quality for the money.” May 29, 2009 by
Regards, from Cape Elizabeth,ME
“For the very low price we received, this hotel exceeded our expectations. Our room was clean, modern, and comfortable, if a bit small. Hotel spaces were nothing fancy, but they too were clean and up to date. Hotel staff was very accommodating in changing us to a room with two beds when originally we were booked into a King. Valet parking was pretty much the only option, but we found it convenient, and not too expensive ($18/day). The valet service was good. I would stay here again at the low price we received on Priceline. If paying more, I would choose to stay closer to Old Quebec.” May 13, 2009 by
Michelle from Edgewater,NJ
“The room is very clean. But pillows, and bed are not so comfortable. The hotel staff Apr 20, 2009 by
Sam from Calgary,Canada “Excellent hotel for the price. Parking is a little hectic in the downtown area. Valet parking is available for $20 including taxes for 24 hours. On my second night, I learned street parking is free from 9PM to 9AM and only $2/hr there after. Unless you are planning to leave your car on the streets for greater than 10 hours during business hours, the street parking might be a better way to go.” Mar 23, 2009 by
Thars from North York,Canada
“Valet service is nice and bad. I was hoping to park my own car instead of being forced to take the valet service.” Mar 9, 2009 by
Gawain from Gatineau,Canada
“Great hotel, clean rooms, friendly and helpful staff.” Jan 6, 2009 by
William P. from Markham,Canada
“Location is not within walking distance to old Quebec City. Long wait for valet parking +20 minutes. But room is clean and comfortable.” Jan 4, 2009 by
Kate from Tampa,FL
“We could not find a hotel within the wall (old town) within our budget. Therefore, we decided to stay this hotel, because it is relatively close to the city wall. We used a bus transportation every time (Line 801), because the street was so icy, and dangerous to hike. If you visit Quebec City not during snow season, the location is not bad. The carpet is so dirty, please do not take off your shoes in your room.” Oct 20, 2008 by
Dave
“The location was not convenient to old Quebec. Parking was valet at $18/day and the parking lot was outdoors approx 15 minutes from the hotel. The area was kind of run down, not somewhere I would stroll around at night. I didn't feel threatened just nothing there to see or do.

“This is an excellent hotel that is easily accessible from Highway 440 & within walking distance to Old Quebec. The staff is exceptionally warm, friendly and helpful. The room was large and the bathroom was very spacious; both were exceptionally clean.” Sep 13, 2008 by
Denise from Plainview, NY
“Pool way too small. Felt cramped in all the spaces.” Sep 12, 2008 by
Carl from Miramichi, NB CA
“Quite pleased except for the car parking situation. Everyone was very friendly. I found the area to be a bit rough looking although we seen no trouble.” Sep 10, 2008 by
Marie from Ste-Julie, QC CA
“Strange neighborhood, no parking, and the valet parking is expensive. First, they put me in a room for handicapped (with special toilet), come on! And with no ventilation, window locked. I asked another room, they gave me a cramped, super small and smelly room (not fresh and clean), I complained, the finally put me in a better room. The staff was always arguing with what I said. I will never go there again.” Sep 10, 2008 by
Serge from Lefaivre, ON CA
“Hotel was probably fine but since we were on 1st floor, we could not uncover the windows.” Sep 10, 2008 by
Hsi from Pierrefonds, QC CA
“The room size varies a lot, so be smart and ask for a bigger one if needed. And you can certainly find a cheap parking lot very close by (5$ per day for weekends), instead of paying $18 tax for the valet service.” Sep 10, 2008 by
Sean from Montreal, QC CA
“Overall, this was a nice hotel. We were given a room on the first floor. The only problem with that was the window was eye-level with passers-by on the street. The pool and Jacuzzi closed at 10 p.m. which is no good when you're out trying to enjoy the nightlife in Quebec and looking forward to a soak when you get home. The room was clean but small, but at the same time very functional. Coffee maker, ironing board and iron are available in the room. Overall a good experience.” Sep 7, 2008 by
Joan
“Our room was comfortable and quiet. Hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. The parking was too expensive ($18 a day) but easy to use. We had to drive to most places because it was located too far from Vieux Quebec, and that increased the amount we had to pay for parking each day. The whole hotel is non-smoking and has free wireless access, which worked beautifully. It's probably better for the business traveler than the sightseer.” Sep 4, 2008 by
Bill from Arlington, MA
“It has a convenient location within walking distance of the old city and the more modern areas. The outside is classic Brutalist poured concrete but the inside is just fine. The sleeping area of our room was just okay, the bathroom was modern and pretty. It was not my worst hotel experience, but it was not close to being the best either.” Sep 2, 2008 by
MaryEllen
“The hotel itself was okay, but the area was too down trod, there was nothing I really liked about this particular location.” Aug 31, 2008 by
Carolyn from Miss, ON CA
“Clean rooms, very comfortable, small but very nice pool, quiet even though right in a noisy area downtown, outside looks scary but inside it's lovely.” Aug 24, 2008 by
Sharon from Charlottetown, PE CA
“Lovely rooms but quite a walk from old town Quebec and wasn't sure if the area was safe to be walking back late in the evening.” Aug 10, 2008 by
Julianne from Issaquah, WA
“When we rang before arrival to request twin beds all hotels helped us except this one (one even giving us a free rollaway). We were told we could not change room types from king to a queen. Also parking is expensive and only valet (no self-park) and it can take up to 40 minutes for valet to get your car in busy times. There were also a dozen or so hairs in our bed (on one side of bed only) when we arrived - obviously the bed linen had not been changed from the previous guest. Hotel is a long way from main attractions of Quebec city - i.e. the old town.” Aug 9, 2008 by
John from Wakefield, QC CA
“The hotel is ok with a nice pool and exercise room. The location is ok. Even though all rooms are non-smoking, ours was an old smoking room and the room still smelled very much. The TV was also not working too well. I find the Best Western chain to be very uneven in terms of comfort, quality of room.” Aug 7, 2008 by
Brad from Auburn, NH
“Best location to Old Quebec. A big, modern, and clean hotel. No complaints at all, though I would not call it a 4 star experience. The rooms were only slightly better than average. A very good experience. Friendly staff too.” Aug 6, 2008 by
Bob from Cabot, VT
“The hotel staff was courteous and efficient. The hotel and the room were clean and comfortable. We would not hesitate to stay at this hotel in the future.” Jul 31, 2008 by
Ed from Durham, NC
“This hotel is convenient to the Old City of Quebec by car. I would have liked to have stayed in the Old City, but settled for this. After walking the hilly streets of Old Quebec, we found the hotel restaurant quite a pleasant alternative to going out. The staff was friendly and helpful, perhaps even flirty. As a gay couple, we felt entirely comfortable throughout the stay and appreciate a city and a hotel that enables that.” Jul 28, 2008 by
Michele from Hampton, NH
“Clean, pleasant, hotel. Down the hill from the Old City, necessitating either a long, difficult, climb, or a vehicle. Near inexpensive restaurants, but not much else.” Jul 28, 2008 by
Mark from Bathurst, NB CA
“Nice area. Close to everything.” Jul 27, 2008 by
Pat from Azilda, ON CA
“Great hotel, the rooms were big, clean and in great shape. The only downfall is that there is no parking at the hotel. They do have a parking service but that comes at an extra charge.” Jul 26, 2008 by
L from New York, NY
“The room was comfortable.” Jul 25, 2008 by
Judy from San Jose, CA
“The hotel staff was very friendly and accommodating to this out of towner. Bus stops are conveniently located across the street for trips into Old Quebec and there were sights and restaurants within walking distance. I would recommend ordering breakfast off the menu rather than choosing the breakfast buffet. It was over priced and somewhat bland.” Jul 24, 2008 by
Courtney from Tucson, AZ
“Good location in terms of proximity to attractions, but hotel was not situated in the best part of town. Parking can be a problem. Staff was very courteous and went out of their way to accommodate.” Jul 21, 2008 by
Linda W. from Terrace, BC CA
“We would go back.” Jul 21, 2008 by
Mimi from Pittsburgh, PA
“We had a great time in Quebec City and it helped to have such a nice hotel.” Jul 20, 2008 by
Marc from Montreal, QC CA
“Please spare me ! I already told you it was fine and we had a good time.” Jul 19, 2008 by
Michael from Wilton, CT
“Firstly poor location but the hotel is very tired - rooms smell of deodorizer and air conditioning noisy and in effective - system does not have thermostats. This is not a three star hotel - more like one star but I doubt it could even get a rating.”
