• The lobby was amazing. Big, beautifully decorated.
• Paying for parking.

“The lobby was all decorated for Christmas, absolutely beautiful. The room was spacious, nice bathroom also. Very clean.”

• The restaurant was exceptional.
• Nothing.

“We opted to go to the restaurant instead of room service as we had seen a particular fish dish on the RS menu and thought it may be available in the restaurant. It was not on the menu, but the chef said he would be glad to make it for us. He had some problems with the fish from the supplier and substituted another fish which was very very good. Kudos to the Chef and staff.”

“Sutton Place was comparable to The Mansion in Dallas and this is the highest complement. My husband and I enjoyed every minute of our stay. In fact, our hotel became a destination rather than only a lovely place to stay. We will return.”

• This is a very high class hotel with 2 concierges on duty.

“This is an excellent hotel in the heart of Vancouver about a mile from Stanley Park. We rented a tandem bike one morning and toured most of Vancouver. This hotel is a five star hotel!”

• Elegant hotel in a great downtown Vancouver location.
• Everything was great.

“We have stayed at the Sutton Place before through Priceline and it was a wonderful place. When we checked in the desk clerk had us in a two bed room. When I asked if a king or queen bedded room was available she found a king for us. The staff was very nice and I highly recommend this hotel.”

• Friendly staff, helpful and welcoming. Central location. Room was excellent.
• Enjoyed my stay and had no complaints.

“The Sutton hotel is a gem in the City of Vancouver. Centrally located it is within easy walking distance to shopping (just down the street from Robson, waterfront, library, restaurants, Stanley Park. The room we stayed had a very comfortable King size bed with luxurious bedding. Bathrobes were supplied and your choice of newspaper at checkin was offered. All the staff were friendly and welcoming and always had a smile. All in all a very relaxing and rewarding stay in Vancouver.”

“Furnishings all old, worn, chipped. Drawers didn't work. Shower old and poor condition. No coffee machine in room. On the good side, it is very close to coffee shops, restaurants, grocery store, movie theatres.”

• Gift shop was closed.

“We had a great stay, the staff was efficient and very friendly. The beds were really comfy and the IGA Market place was right next door, so you could stalk up without having to go into the mini bar. Denny's was across the street and it was very central.”

• Hotel lobby and staff were very pleasant.
• Our room had no air control so it made it very uncomfortable to sleep in. Window opens at night incredible noise outside.

“Great location and well maintained hotel. Caution staying here as there is no air control ability in the rooms. Very warm at night and not able to leave window open as it the hotel is located in a very busy part of the city. I would not stay here ever again.”

• Pleasant atmosphere, beautiful flowers in lobby, nice room appointments, soothing luxury.
• Expensive local calls, internet, pool in odd location - have to go through lobby, cross building in robe. Staff perhaps a little over eager.

“This felt like a fine hotel without the stuffiness. I was comfortable with my son -14 yrs, exploring the amenities alone and the staff answered his questions respectfully. The beds/bedding were very comfortable and rooms cleaned in a timely manner.”

• The staff was absolutely wonderful and accommodating.
• The hotel pool and Jacuzzi were closed for renovations.

“This is an excellent hotel to stay at for a couple or if traveling on business. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable and the room, albeit small, was beautifully decorated. The restaurant and lounge is right off the lobby and the chocolate buffet was incredible.”

• Overpriced for outdated accommodations.

“French provincial feels but a bit dingy and outdated. Lobby played Vividly Four Seasons continuously, no variation in music. Restaurant was extremely overpriced, moderate quality and lighting was poor. Chocolate buffet did not offer delicate or superior choices, the menu items were mediocre. Good service but a bit stuffy.”

• Parking was expensive $25/night.

“Had a great stay at the Sutton place. Overall, great service from the front desk to the cleaning staff. Excellent gym & spa, and amazing downtown Vancouver location (near rob son street within a walk to most downtown locations). Room service was very good (I had breakfast once). A couple small negatives: they are undergoing renovations in some of the areas so just make sure this is not taking place near your room when you book. Also, parking a car was expensive at $25/night (plus tips for the valet). I would consider the Sutton again without question on my next visit to Vancouver. That being said, there are many other nice hotels in Vancouver that I would also look at.”

• Very accommodating in every way. Our "apartment" was very comfortable with full kitchen and living and dining areas. We had a nice patio and vie.
• We liked everything--accommodations and staff were all great!

• The actor was in the lobby. This and the great view from the room was the best part of the hotel.
• This didn't have the luxury feeling I was expecting. The lobby was nice but room and pool area were really run down.

“The staff were nice but the hotel room and pool area were really run down. The adjacent tower appeared to be nearly abandon. The bed wasn't especially comfortable. We were glad we only stayed one night.”

“The hotel is quite close to all important activities in downtown. The hotel is elegant and rooms are nice. The smoking rooms are, however, non usable for a non-smoker because the smell of smoke is strong..”

• It was very clean, it had a great location, and a great view. we loved it.
• There is nothing bad to say.
