• Dining Facilities and rooms excellent.
• Front desk staff was not very attentive, not bad, could be better.

“Overall, I was very pleased with the hotel. Food in their restaurant was excellent. Rooms were clean. View from room was great. Hotel appearance very good. Housekeeping did a super job. I would recommend to anyone visiting Costa Rica.”

• Would like free internet access.

“I was very surprised at the level of quality and service I received. The room size was excellent and the decor very elegant. Although, when we arrived there was a bit of a mix-up in our reservations, the hotel sent up trays of fruit and water to our rooms. They were very accommodating and very friendly. I enjoyed staying at the Barcelo and would certainly look forward to staying at other Barcelo resorts. Absolutely, wonderful.”

• Racquetball courts - the funny thing is I stayed there the last night, but I went to San Jose to play a racquetball tournament.
• The price did not include my breakfast.

“San Jose Palacio is a Five-Star Luxury hotel, sitting atop a mountain overlooking San Jose City. When you awaken at dawn to see the bright lights down below the City, you are instantly in awe at the peace, serenity and tranquility of where you are staying. I found the rooms to be a bit small but beautiful. And although the Buffet was an overpriced $24.00 per person, if you can afford it, this is a beautiful hotel, luxurious and classy.”

• The food was excellent, reasonably priced.
• Internet access was hit-or-miss. Wish that I could have purchased a meal + internet package for one reduced price.

“Very beautiful grounds, plush lobby, clean, quiet rooms, comfortable bed. Very good housekeeping service, very good to ok service in the restaurant. The restaurant serves a breakfast; however, the servers are not all top quality. Some restaurant servers are really good, others are really bad. Since I had problems with internet access, I complained to the front desk, they credited my account after researching my complaint was justified. It's a great hotel, certainly less expensive than the intercontinental hotel, but not as plush. Will try the Trip Coribici next time as it is similarly priced, and appears closer to fun spots Downtown.”

• Upgrade without a problem. Room is gorgeous!
• Just wish it was a bit closer to airport and downtown.

• Beautiful Natural surroundings-.
• Seems somewhat rundown.

“The hotel has a difficult access, there's nothing within walking distance, though by car it is close to many areas of interest. Check-in took forever. Carpets and furniture heavily used- should be changed. TV wasn't working; it took a while to get it fixed. Wireless did not work in the room, though they sold me the card; I did get a refund. The safe didn't work, but they sent someone to fix it. The room (jr. Suite) was very spacious. The hotel is surrounded by trees and plants, which lends it a nice Natural ambience.”

• The restaurant was great, the staff was very helpful.
• They charged $1 for a stamp, the ice machine was broken.

“I will definitely stay here again when I return to Costa Rica. The staff was friendly and helpful, and the beds where comfortable. What more does one need?”
