“The hotel is clean and comfortable, with small rooms and a friendly staff. It is a 5 minute walk from the end of Metro line #8. It seems to be in a safe neighborhood, as I had no trouble walking to the hotel early in the morning. On the Metro it takes less than 15 minutes to get to the Eiffel Tower or about 45 minutes to Notre Dame.” Aug 25, 2008 by
Julie from Hayward, CA
“I was worried about the location of the hotel, on the outskirts of town, but it turned out to be very close to a metro stop which made it just fine for reaching all the great spots in Paris. The staff was very nice, and accommodating when we needed a late check out.” Aug 23, 2008 by
Helika from Shubenacadie, NS CA
“Top notch.” Aug 12, 2008 by
Shindy from Richmond, BC CA
“The hotel was beautiful. The rooms were spacious, the beds were very comfortable, and the facilities were great. The plaza next door is also nice with movies, a water park, and fast food. The location was farther than I expected. It was supposed to be by the Eiffel Tower area but it was no where near that. We really had to take the Subway to get around. The location is not great but the hotel was better than we expected.” Aug 12, 2008 by
Jerry W. from Huntsville, AL
“Room service was poor - would not refill coffee service and did not empty trash. Mattress was so worn out it appeared that it had been run over with a steam roller. It would stand on end when you sat up to read. The location was far from any tourist location, but a short walk from the Metro station. This is an average hotel, far from 4 star.” Jul 16, 2008 by
Steve from Mount Pearl, NF CA
“Great location. Next door to a shopping mall and water park. Located away from the busy downtown core, but still just a 5 minute metro ride from all the main local tourist attractions.” Jul 11, 2008 by
Bill from Los Altos, CA
“Disgusting. There was nothing that the hotel could have done to ameliorate this for me. I did not go to Paris to stay in outer suburbs.” Jul 10, 2008 by
Emily from Apo, AE
“Efficient, clean hotel that caters to business travelers and is located next to a shopping area. Has good access to major highway and public transportation.” Jul 10, 2008 by
David from Blackfoot, ID
“Modern, stylish hotel with most of the extras you'd expect from a 4 star hotel. Modern, clean rooms, quite spacious. The location is out of Paris but is very easy to access on the Metro system about 5 mins walk from the hotel. Gym facilities, sun deck and indoor pool were fantastic. There are a handful of cafe's near the Metro station but it is a limited choice. Your best option is to catch the Metro into Paris, St Germaine for dinner or lunch. My only criticism is the price of their buffet breakfast. Otherwise I give the hotel 9/10.” Jul 3, 2008 by
Sarah from Incline Village, NV
“My room had carpet that was threadbare and worn by traffic, although the room was relatively clean and bed was comfortable by Paris standards. The hallway smelled weird. There was mold in the bathroom. But all of that aside, it would have been "okay" except for the location. This hotel has no business being in the Eiffel Tower zone, as it is over 40 minutes by walk and Metro (like 12 stops with train change) to La Tour Eiffel. In fact, the hotel is outside of the Metro area. You have to get off at the very last stop (Balard), and walk 1/4 mile under the freeway to get to the hotel. Many Parisiens would claim this area is not even really "Paris." I would agree. The distance from city center aside, the neighborhood itself is borderline. Several government housing projects are located down the street. It is also a business district, so very mixed crowd. No cafes, brasseries, shops etc. I wouldn't walk it at night (and I am a city person). A market is located a mildly healthy walk past a sketchy residential area. One positive.if you have kids, there's a giant waterpark next door. They'll have a blast.” Jun 27, 2008 by
Susanne from Memphis, TN
“The hotel was fine, but they really need to reclassify the area.” Jun 9, 2008 by
Chuck from Calgary, AB CA
“Taking the Metro transportation will only take 3 to 5 minutes of walking from the hotel. Can communicate with the hotel staff in English. Staffs are very friendly and willing to assist the customer in every way.” Jun 8, 2008 by
Suresh from San Francisco, CA
“While located on the far southwest side of Paris, the city is easily accessible by metro and tram. A 5 minute walk and a 20 minute ride will take you to most Paris hot spots. The staff is friendly, but friendlier to the French speaking members of our group. The rooms are clean, quiet and comfortable with huge beds and nice views if requested. Services include a health and fitness center/pool and several pricey restaurants.” May 31, 2008 by
Diane from Cotuit, MA
“I really enjoyed my stay at this hotel and intend to go back. The breakfast offered was very pricey, so we went down the street and got some pastries at a delicious bakery. The staff were not extremely friendly or helpful, but the atmosphere and rooms were fabulous.” May 31, 2008 by
Signe from Belmont, MA
“Initially we got a room that was not renovated, sticky and smelled like smoke. The room was from the 80's and did not reflect the 4 star rating at all. We did complain and got a much better room on the lower floors. Fitness center & pool were great facilities.” May 30, 2008 by
Katie from Portland, OR
“I was very disappointed in the location of the hotel given the map. The map of this area is the only one that has a little nook that extends outside of the Peripherique in Paris to include an extra hotel. I feel it is deceptive. I certainly will never choose that neighborhood for Paris knowing that this is an option. It was a nice hotel, but the location really ruined it.” May 27, 2008 by
Hank from Toronto, ON CA
“Generally very good and met our expectation for location and star level. It is located in a very safe and good area in Paris. The hotel seems to be frequented by international visitors and business travelers. The concierge speaks good English and is friendly.” May 26, 2008 by
Lynn from Toronto, ON CA
“I would never stay here again, primarily because the front desk staff was awful to interact with. They were extremely snobby, aloof, uninterested, and unhelpful. They did not know simple things, such as information pertaining to metro/bus access to the hotel. They charge for everything that is extra, and internet access is extremely expensive. The hotel is out-of-the-way, there is nothing interesting around it, and the neighborhood nearby closes very early. I thought the level of service provided was worse than some 2-star hotels Ive stayed at in Paris and beyond! I would never stay here again!” May 25, 2008 by
Gloria from San Diego, CA
“This hotel is not near any of these locations.” May 25, 2008 by
Alicia from Castle Rock, WA
“It was an ok place to stay.” May 23, 2008 by
Mike from Salinas, CA
“Stayed for a night in Paris with my wife. The hotel is not close to any major attractions. The hotel on the outside looks terrible, the interior's look nice but need to be maintained, as they are already falling apart. Service at the hotel was fair, it took close to 45 minutes to check in and another 45 minutes to check out. The staff needs to have training.” May 19, 2008 by
Steve C. from Silver Spring, MD
“The facility is topnotch. The staff is friendly, responsive, and helpful. The only downside is that the hotel is somewhat removed from a large selection of cafes, markets, and restaurants.” May 19, 2008 by
Bill from Eagan, MN
“Nice facility at the end of line 8 in Paris, clean rooms, courteous staff.” May 18, 2008 by
Rob from Snellville, GA
“I was looking for a hotel in Paris for our two day stop in Paris. I picked a zone that was for the Eiffel Tower and got a hotel 2.5 miles away in the business district. The price was right though and the hotel was nice. It was mixed based on location and value.” May 14, 2008 by
Anne from Nashville, TN
“Hotel was okay.” May 13, 2008 by
Ariel from New York, NY
“Hotel with rude/non-existent staff.” May 10, 2008 by
Andrew from Vancouver, BC CA
“Hi there: This hotel was not within walking distance to the Eiffel tower, nor was it in a good location. As a hotel goes it was pretty standard (nothing special about it), the staff were not that helpful, and the location was pretty bad. I would not stay at this hotel, or in this area again.” May 3, 2008 by
Mary E. from Milwaukie, OR
“This hotel is very clean, modern upscale and international. The breakfast was plentiful and tasty. Once they resolve the problem of the door locking system and lower the price of their internet usage, this place will be perfect. It had every amenity you could wish for!” May 2, 2008 by
Kimberly from Cambridge, MA
“The Pullman hotel was an absolutely beautiful deluxe hotel. The accommodations were clean and comfortable. The rooms were very spacious and came with lots of amenities not generally seen in Europe. The location was very out of the way. The hotel is at the very end of the Metro (not convenient to any sights). Also, we booked a couple of things through our hotel concierge who was very kind and helpful, but made a couple of mistakes. He booked our tickets to the incorrect cabaret show, and later apologized. But it was ultimately the cabaret show that we attended that made amends by giving us a gift for choosing their show. I also booked tickets on the TV through the concierge but was given a confirmation sheet instead of the actual tickets. This proved to make our trip extremely difficult, as we had to a peak with several customer service agents and eventually pay additional fare. I was also unable to sit with my sister on the train due to the mix up.” May 1, 2008 by
Marcelo from Independence, MO
“This hotel has good decor, but hammering and reform noises started at 8 in the morning, everyday, and when we called to complain, they did nothing about it. On arrival, we asked the front desk if breakfast was included, and they said it was, and it wasn't. I would not stay at the hotel again. Bad sleep, bad service, and bad manners.” May 1, 2008 by
Sonya from La Mirada, CA
“Overall I had a great stay at this hotel. Initially it was a little tricky to get to because I came in to the farther train station. Definitely use the Ballard station off of line 8. Then it's about a ten minute walk from there. Slightly out of the way but worth it for the price.” Apr 30, 2008 by
Dianne from Marysville, CA
“This hotel was OK. The room was very comfortable, but it was far from the Paris sites. The metro was not too far away. The dining was very limited and expensive. The concierge did not seem knowledgeable about sightseeing trips.” Apr 29, 2008 by
Jesy from New York, NY
“Perfectly nice, clean hotel on the FAR edge of the city. All romantic notions of strolling through Paris at night are dashed after passing through a full block of construction, as it turns out construction workers around the world cat-call, and crossing a multi-lane highway and tram line. It took a good 15 minutes of walking to reach anything remotely Parisian and the cafes and restaurants nearest the hotel seemed dirty and deserted. Had the hotel been 10 minutes closer to the city center, I would have been in heaven.” Apr 28, 2008 by
Alexander from Quincy, MA
“All expectations were met.” Apr 28, 2008 by
Wade from Conroe, TX
“I would recommend this hotel to anyone traveling to Paris. It is near the Metro and the staff goes out of its way to meet your needs.” Apr 27, 2008 by
Stephanie from Waltham, MA
“Location superb, Arc De Triumph, within 1/2 mile, the champs lies within 1/2-1 mile, the Eiffel tower completely in view from room and the city was incredible with lights at nights.” Apr 25, 2008 by
Barath from Redmond, WA
“It is a very good place. You can reach all the main attractions in less than 15 minutes from this hotel by metro..” Apr 24, 2008 by
Michael from Sausalito, CA
“Poor location. Last Metro terminus station. A 15 euros taxi ride to Montparnasse station or 3 Metro transfers. Contrary to hotel's name, neither "Montparnasse", nor 'Rive Gauche' (Seine is several kilometers away).” 0 of 1 people found this review helpful.Apr 24, 2008 by
Daniel from Newry, CA
“All in all very disappointing stay. The Hotel is nothing as described on their own website, and would in no other country be classified as a 4* Hotel. The room was worn; toilet fittings were old and not working. Ventilation was hanging off the ceiling, paint was peeling from the walls, and the bathroom must have been painted by a 5 year old. All in all would never again use the area again for a stay in Paris out of fear of getting this Hotel.” Mar 25, 2008 by
Cliff from Boerne, TX
“The best hotel on our entire European trip.” Mar 22, 2008 by
Lucia from Rising Sun, MD
“Staff was attentive. Hotel was clean. Accommodations better than expected-larger that is.” 1 of 1 people found this review helpful.Mar 20, 2008 by

“Very comfortable! Although it is at the end of the Balard metro line it was very close to the station and not a problem. There are places to eat on the opposite side of the station from the hotel that are very good. I recommend it highly.” Mar 17, 2008 by
Lisa from North Vancouver, BC CA
“We really enjoyed our hotel stay and felt that the hotel stands up to it's 4-star rating for the most part.” Mar 3, 2008 by
Lucille from San Jose, CA
“We where treated very nice from the minute we checked in the hotel. The hole staff was very helpful and most was fluent in English. We loved our room. Those beds where wonderful. We will stay there again.” Jan 24, 2008 by
Aymen. from Beverly Hills, CA
“Absolutely ghastly.” 0 of 1 people found this review helpful.Nov 2, 2007 by

“Extremely comfortable hotel with all the amenities you'd expect with in a four star hotel. The room and bathroom was spacious, especially by European standards. The hotel is relatively close to the metro with about a 15 minute ride into the heart of Paris. Only drawback is that there aren't many restaurants in proximity to the hotel so you're forced to either eat at the hotel or eat before you return to the hotel.” Oct 26, 2007 by
Danny from Toronto, ON CA
“I would never stay at this hotel again. I was ripped of by the staff .the rooms are ugly location s. They take advantage of tourist's.” Oct 18, 2007 by
Amanda from Edmond, OK
“It was not convenient to metro stops.” Oct 15, 2007 by
Bel from Oberursel, OH
“The room size is just ok, although the design is nice. The bed is rather small for a couple, as it's queen size only. Although all the facilities looked clean and new, a certain lack of attention to details could be observed in the bathroom, where the water installation for the toilet seemed in the middle of renovation (the flush button was completely loose and the water kept dripping fairly noisily).” Oct 12, 2007 by
Pat from Stonewall, LA
“The Sofitel Paris Porte de Sevres is a very attractive hotel well suited for business travel. It is clean and modern, having all of a traveler's needs close by shops, restaurants, and metro & RER stations. The staff is very friendly and helpful. For the leisure traveler it's just a little bit out of the way for seeing the sights of Paris but having public transportation close by made up for this minor inconvenience. I would choose this hotel again.”
