“Stayed for a night in Paris with my wife. The hotel is not close to any major attractions. The hotel on the outside looks terrible, the interior's look nice but need to be maintained, as they are already falling apart. Service at the hotel was fair, it took close to 45 minutes to check in and another 45 minutes to check out. The staff needs to have training.” May 19, 2008 by
Steve C. from Silver Spring, MD
“The facility is topnotch. The staff is friendly, responsive, and helpful. The only downside is that the hotel is somewhat removed from a large selection of cafes, markets, and restaurants.” May 19, 2008 by
Bill from Eagan, MN
“Nice facility at the end of line 8 in Paris, clean rooms, courteous staff.” May 18, 2008 by
Rob from Snellville, GA
“I was looking for a hotel in Paris for our two day stop in Paris. I picked a zone that was for the Eiffel Tower and got a hotel 2.5 miles away in the business district. The price was right though and the hotel was nice. It was mixed based on location and value.” May 14, 2008 by
Anne from Nashville, TN
“Hotel was okay.” May 13, 2008 by
Ariel from New York, NY
“Hotel with rude/non-existent staff.” May 10, 2008 by
Andrew from Vancouver, BC CA
“Hi there: This hotel was not within walking distance to the Eiffel tower, nor was it in a good location. As a hotel goes it was pretty standard (nothing special about it), the staff were not that helpful, and the location was pretty bad. I would not stay at this hotel, or in this area again.” May 3, 2008 by
Mary E. from Milwaukie, OR
“This hotel is very clean, modern upscale and international. The breakfast was plentiful and tasty. Once they resolve the problem of the door locking system and lower the price of their internet usage, this place will be perfect. It had every amenity you could wish for!” May 2, 2008 by
Kimberly from Cambridge, MA
“The Pullman hotel was an absolutely beautiful deluxe hotel. The accommodations were clean and comfortable. The rooms were very spacious and came with lots of amenities not generally seen in Europe. The location was very out of the way. The hotel is at the very end of the Metro (not convenient to any sights). Also, we booked a couple of things through our hotel concierge who was very kind and helpful, but made a couple of mistakes. He booked our tickets to the incorrect cabaret show, and later apologized. But it was ultimately the cabaret show that we attended that made amends by giving us a gift for choosing their show. I also booked tickets on the TV through the concierge but was given a confirmation sheet instead of the actual tickets. This proved to make our trip extremely difficult, as we had to a peak with several customer service agents and eventually pay additional fare. I was also unable to sit with my sister on the train due to the mix up.” May 1, 2008 by
Marcelo from Independence, MO
“This hotel has good decor, but hammering and reform noises started at 8 in the morning, everyday, and when we called to complain, they did nothing about it. On arrival, we asked the front desk if breakfast was included, and they said it was, and it wasn't. I would not stay at the hotel again. Bad sleep, bad service, and bad manners.” May 1, 2008 by
Sonya from La Mirada, CA
“Overall I had a great stay at this hotel. Initially it was a little tricky to get to because I came in to the farther train station. Definitely use the Ballard station off of line 8. Then it's about a ten minute walk from there. Slightly out of the way but worth it for the price.” Apr 30, 2008 by
Dianne from Marysville, CA
“This hotel was OK. The room was very comfortable, but it was far from the Paris sites. The metro was not too far away. The dining was very limited and expensive. The concierge did not seem knowledgeable about sightseeing trips.” Apr 29, 2008 by
Jesy from New York, NY
“Perfectly nice, clean hotel on the FAR edge of the city. All romantic notions of strolling through Paris at night are dashed after passing through a full block of construction, as it turns out construction workers around the world cat-call, and crossing a multi-lane highway and tram line. It took a good 15 minutes of walking to reach anything remotely Parisian and the cafes and restaurants nearest the hotel seemed dirty and deserted. Had the hotel been 10 minutes closer to the city center, I would have been in heaven.” Apr 28, 2008 by
Alexander from Quincy, MA
“All expectations were met.” Apr 28, 2008 by
Wade from Conroe, TX
“I would recommend this hotel to anyone traveling to Paris. It is near the Metro and the staff goes out of its way to meet your needs.” Apr 27, 2008 by
Stephanie from Waltham, MA
“Location superb, Arc De Triumph, within 1/2 mile, the champs lies within 1/2-1 mile, the Eiffel tower completely in view from room and the city was incredible with lights at nights.” Apr 25, 2008 by
Barath from Redmond, WA
“It is a very good place. You can reach all the main attractions in less than 15 minutes from this hotel by metro..” Apr 24, 2008 by
Michael from Sausalito, CA
“Poor location. Last Metro terminus station. A 15 euros taxi ride to Montparnasse station or 3 Metro transfers. Contrary to hotel's name, neither "Montparnasse", nor 'Rive Gauche' (Seine is several kilometers away).” 0 of 1 people found this review helpful.Apr 24, 2008 by

“All in all very disappointing stay. The Hotel is nothing as described on their own website, and would in no other country be classified as a 4* Hotel. The room was worn; toilet fittings were old and not working. Ventilation was hanging off the ceiling, paint was peeling from the walls, and the bathroom must have been painted by a 5 year old. All in all would never again use the area again for a stay in Paris out of fear of getting this Hotel.” Mar 25, 2008 by
Cliff from Boerne, TX
“The best hotel on our entire European trip.” Mar 22, 2008 by
Lucia from Rising Sun, MD
“Staff was attentive. Hotel was clean. Accommodations better than expected-larger that is.” 1 of 1 people found this review helpful.Mar 20, 2008 by

“Very comfortable! Although it is at the end of the Balard metro line it was very close to the station and not a problem. There are places to eat on the opposite side of the station from the hotel that are very good. I recommend it highly.” Mar 17, 2008 by
Lisa from North Vancouver, BC CA
“We really enjoyed our hotel stay and felt that the hotel stands up to it's 4-star rating for the most part.” Mar 3, 2008 by
Lucille from San Jose, CA
“We where treated very nice from the minute we checked in the hotel. The hole staff was very helpful and most was fluent in English. We loved our room. Those beds where wonderful. We will stay there again.” Jan 24, 2008 by
Aymen. from Beverly Hills, CA
“Absolutely ghastly.” 0 of 1 people found this review helpful.Nov 2, 2007 by

“Extremely comfortable hotel with all the amenities you'd expect with in a four star hotel. The room and bathroom was spacious, especially by European standards. The hotel is relatively close to the metro with about a 15 minute ride into the heart of Paris. Only drawback is that there aren't many restaurants in proximity to the hotel so you're forced to either eat at the hotel or eat before you return to the hotel.” Oct 26, 2007 by
Danny from Toronto, ON CA
“I would never stay at this hotel again. I was ripped of by the staff .the rooms are ugly location s. They take advantage of tourist's.” Oct 18, 2007 by
Amanda from Edmond, OK
“It was not convenient to metro stops.” Oct 15, 2007 by
Bel from Oberursel, OH
“The room size is just ok, although the design is nice. The bed is rather small for a couple, as it's queen size only. Although all the facilities looked clean and new, a certain lack of attention to details could be observed in the bathroom, where the water installation for the toilet seemed in the middle of renovation (the flush button was completely loose and the water kept dripping fairly noisily).” Oct 12, 2007 by
Pat from Stonewall, LA
“The Sofitel Paris Porte de Sevres is a very attractive hotel well suited for business travel. It is clean and modern, having all of a traveler's needs close by shops, restaurants, and metro & RER stations. The staff is very friendly and helpful. For the leisure traveler it's just a little bit out of the way for seeing the sights of Paris but having public transportation close by made up for this minor inconvenience. I would choose this hotel again.” Oct 10, 2007 by
Christopher from Honolulu, HI
“Very friendly and helpful staff that all speak English.” Sep 20, 2007 by
Brian from Duluth, MN
“Very nice lobby, restaurants were good. We were surprised to receive complimentary parking. Unfortunately our non-smoking room retained a heavy stench of cigarettes. Not good for people with allergies/asthma.” Aug 28, 2007 by
Bola from Long Beach, CA
“The hotel was clean, the staff was friendly and I enjoyed my stay. It is a perfect hotel for business travelers. It is slightly far from the main attractions in Paris. It takes about 20 minutes by train to get to shopping and sights. It took about 8 minutes to walk to the train station from the hotel. I really enjoyed not being in a crowded hotel. So, it was really relaxing for me. There are some restaurants and shops nearby. There is also a park that is within walking distance. I would stay here again.” Aug 24, 2007 by
Ted from Fullerton, CA
“The hotel itself is very nice. Rooms have a plasma TV, modern bathroom, and a very comfortable bed. Rooms are small by American standards but not bad for European standards. The location of the hotel is nothing exciting. In fact, there's nothing there. Fortunately, the Metro stops are convenient and close by (about a 6 minute walk) and gets you to anywhere you want to be in Paris.” Aug 24, 2007 by
Jamal from Mississauga, ON CA
“Very ideal hotel for honeymoons and other occasions. Nice classy 4 or even considered 4.5 star hotel. Location is good since its 5 minutes from a metro stop. I would recommend it to anyone.” Aug 23, 2007 by
Mary from New York, NY
“Overall, the hotel is great. A bit out of town and a 5 to 10 minute walk from the metro to get into town but the "price is right".” Aug 22, 2007 by
Pauline from Stouffville, ON CA
“Very friendly English speaking staff. Fairly close to Metro. The hotel decor is modern. The bed is wonderfully comfortable.” Aug 18, 2007 by
Stephen from Thornhill, ON CA
“I was shocked that the location that seemed so close on the internet turned out to be so far from the Eiffel Tower. There are few to no eating places around and the hotel prices are stiff. They have a great pool but not for kids!” Aug 14, 2007 by
Alan from Leesburg, VA
“Overall, the hotel was nice and met the needs of my family. We were disappointed with the quality of concierge service. For example, we were advised that all the museums were closed on Tuesday while we in country. However, we found out later that day this was not accurate information. Consequently, we missed out on some touring.” Aug 13, 2007 by
Sue from Houston, TX
“They are renovating the rooms and our first room was very nice a higher category than they booked for us. However, due to construction noise, we moved to an older room which was much smaller and it took several hours for the air conditioning to cool. Everyone was very nice, but the hotel was too far from the sights.” Aug 4, 2007 by
Iansmom from Fort Lee, NJ
“Hotel was nice, modern, was better than I expected from the reviews I read. But it definitely was not a four star hotel, more like a three star hotel. Some shortcuts were made to renovations and stuck out due to the other "modern" changes. Bathroom was a little dingy besides the new showerheads and some retiling of bathroom needs some work. The cleaning staff only made beds and changed towels, but didn't not vacuum daily. Concierge and hotel staffs were accommodating and helpful. We discovered a great Japanese/French fusion restaurant as recommended by concierge. We ordered room service, over priced. We didn't try the breakfast since it was $25 a head. Too pricey. The beds were nice and comfortable. Room was small, but ok for a couple of nights. Not much of a view and too far from the sights. Concierge mentioned that it was only a 15 minute walk from such and such sights, but it was not. It was more like a 15 minute cab ride than walk. We cabbed it everywhere we went since we traveled with a 2 1/2 year old so the taxi bills really added up. Location of hotel was not as I expected, it was more outside of Paris than inside of Paris.” Jul 22, 2007 by
Ramona from Nepean, ON CA
“Yes this hotel is on the outskirts of Paris however easy access to metro. Initial room had no air conditioning, downgraded to smaller room/bed. When asked about the hours for breakfast at rooftop restaurant was not told it was closed. Nowhere was it mentioned that Speedos were required in the swimming pool.” Jul 14, 2007 by
Dawn from Agoura, CA
“The day time concierge was extremely helpful. The beds were comfortable. However, the location was far from tourist sights. The hotel was clean and modern, but did not deserve the four star rating.” Jul 14, 2007 by
Ken from Sherwood Park, AB CA
“Was terribly disappointed. Hotel looked nice from outside and foyer was very nice. Went up to the rooms and it was very dirty and paint was peeling from the walls, frame door was broken and no paint on the window sills. Cleaning staff were very lazy and the receptionist in the exercise room was racist. Would not recommend this hotel to anyone.” Jul 11, 2007 by
Greg from Provo, UT
“Very clean and beautiful common area and the rooms were nice but fairly plain. All rooms have only queen beds and only 1 per room. The location reminded me of being on the remote outskirts of a business area. Definitely not in a shopping or historic area, but it is only 2 blocks from a Metro location.” Jul 11, 2007 by
Peter from Dana Point, CA
“Hotel is located in an area away from attractions other than a water park next door. Ballard Metro station a ten+ minute walk away as well as neighborhood restaurants and shops. Hotel public areas attractive and up-to-date. Hotel room 1829 is very old and in disrepair with peeling paint on walls, wallpaper peeling from bathroom walls, drapery missing hooks and difficult to open/close. Staff was friendly and helpful. The Sofitel in its current condition is not a four star hotel.” Jul 11, 2007 by
Holly from Columbus, OH
“The hotel itself is pretty - great public space, great (but small) rooms. However, the service was bad. I tried to order something from room service that was on the restaurant menu, and was told no, they couldn't do it (crepes suzette!). So I went to the restaurant to order it to go and they said, oh, you have to call room service! Finally they helped me. Then I was watching a movie and the hotel controls the volume! At 11pm, the volume automatically goes down so low, you cannot possibly hear it! I called the desk and they were just rude about it. The internet access wouldn't work. And then, they charge me $50 euros for breakfast for two! The price wasn't listed anywhere and I was given a ticket at check in so I thought it was included. But, the worst part of the hotel is the location; it is far from the Eiffel Tower and Arc de Triomphe, which is what I requested. I won't stay at this hotel. Bad experience.” Jul 11, 2007 by
David from New York, NY
“The staff really did not understand how to treat guests. I was kept waiting 15 minutes to borrow an umbrella while the concierge was on the phone. A friend was told that she could not leave a message for me by phone the day before I arrived because I had not yet checked in. In other words, they would take the message down and hold it for me.” Jul 9, 2007 by
Dan from Maitland, FL
“Overall, a great hotel.” Jun 14, 2007 by
Jenny from Mt Helena, WA
“Staff excellent, they changed our room without problem as it was near elevator and a bit noisy. I was told all Paris hotel rooms are small - this one wasn't, it was a good size. It's next to a water park with lots of eateries, and best of all its cigarette-smoke free! A short walk takes you to the subway, for a short trip into Paris. I would stay here again.” Hotel Representatives:
