• Perfect location in heart of Brighton. Comfortable room with excellent view. Friendly reception staff.
• Lack of parking or even directions to a sensibly priced nearby carpark. Local NCPs too expensive.

“The location is perfect with a few minutes walk to the high street and the nightlife is on the doorstep. The hotel details should provide details of car parking on the information page such as directions to cheap carparks. Local NCP was 24 Pounds overnigh”

• Large room very spacious nice view of street and seafront.
• Couldn't open window. Hot an stuffy room. Terrible service.

“First impression of the hotel was great, big, spacious, well equipped, and ideally located on the seafront and near to the lanes.

However, our whole experience was ruined by the terrible service we were given on our only nights stay when ordering room ”

• no concierge--more like a 3 star than 4 star hotel

• Staff nice and useful service for leaving luggage after check-out. Room safe was handy.
• Hotel let down by niggly failures in room maintainence and cleaning. Got confused by anonymous firedoors when finding room.

“Very handy for town and excellent seaviews from front rooms but main road in front of hotel is VERY busy day and night. There is no proper drop-off point and parking is a no-no almost anywhere locally except at a price. As I work in Hove I knew this and used trains, taxis and buses.
It isn't The Grand but has the same sea views and offers a good buffet breakfast.”

• Nice large room with very nice views. Good size bathroom also.
• The heating did not work, had to arrange for a heater to be sent up !!

“Very nice hotel. Great breakfast and lovely staff. Booked our taxi's for us to the dome. Only point to be made was that at the time of booking I mAde a point of asking if the Dome was in walking distance and was told yes - in fact it was a 10 min taki ride !! Overall good stay !!”

• Room was sparse and not overly clean - shabby hotel, breakfast was poor.

“Hotel has a great location but needs a makeover, the room was shabby the towels had holes in, the breakfast was no better than a school dinner!”

• room dirty e.g under beds not cleaned, decor of a poor standard

• good size rooms, nice views, quiet.
• no requested wake up call received on 2 different occasions

“Good value hotel for location, lacks any atmosphere, but quiet because of that. Need tidying up around the edges but looks reasonable. Staff reasonably efficient but not particularly friendly or welcoming.”

• Near to all amenities and sea.
• Room not very warm, some of of the shower and bath fittings not working properly, would have been nice to have a sofa in the sitting area.

“Some people might like to be more aware of the fact that, at night, there is a lot of noise generated by people coming out of pubs and clubs.”

• the buffet style breakfast was very nice
• the accomomdation was very poor, very dissapointed

“we booked a seaview room and was in a side view room,this was acceptable as far as the hotel was concerned but a view of the Odeon cinema was not what we felt was appropriate. The rooms general appointment was of a poor standard, very small,shabily decorated and generally dissapointing. The bathroom again was very small, the shower soaked the floor and toilet and the towel rail did not work. For a 4 star hotel the standards we very low... we would not recommned or return.
