• Good location.
• Not much space for the luggage.

“Express by Holiday Inn Southwark London is a solid comfortable overnight stay on the south bank of the Thames in central London. Our room was small, but well designed and well appointed. I got a good nights sleep before my flight back to LA. If this hotel is available for the same exceptionally low price next time I'm in London, I will seriously consider spending my entire stay there.”

• Overall, a decent, less expensive than most options in the London area.
  
• The breakfast was very limited, and the shower felt like a torture device - we were showering with high pressure water cleaner.
  

“This was a decent choice for travelers willing to stay in the outskirts of London - the hotel was clean, and rooms were adequately sized, and hotel staff was reasonable. I don't think it's reasonable for pay for the internet, but this seems to be the standard overseas. The breakfast was lacking and the shower felt like a torture device - there were signs indicating that the shower was built to be invigorating but it felt like we were showering with a high pressure water cleaner of some kind.

• Close to the major train stations (Waterloo and Kingscross).
• I got a smoking room, they claimed they had no other rooms available.

“Elevator very slow, there is nothing around the hotel (no shops, convenience stores etc). 5 min walk to the Southwark station. Hotel is new, the Hoteline taxi/shuttle couldn't find it in their postcode database, had some trouble during pickup to go to the airport. Top floor (6th) is the smoking floor and also suffers from heavy vibrations from the machinery on the roof. It felt like being on a train all night long.”

• Location to London attractions & transportation was excellent.
• Bar too small, internet not accessible for free, phones did not work.

“Rooms too small for anything but sleeping. The bar was only eight feet of space in the lobby. Continental breakfast was good. Elevator very small with room for only two people. Close to main London attractions and the Tube. Nice location.”

• Very comfortable bed, nice big bathroom, great staff.
• I found a booger on the side of a nightstand!

“Nice lobby, secure atmosphere, one of the better continental breakfasts I have been to. The staff went above and beyond and were the friendliest of the 3 hotels I stayed at. Cable TV wasn't that good. Maid service was excellent and the bathroom was huge in London standards! I recommend this hotel as a cheaper alternative, yet still convenient to most activities (within 10 minute train).”

• Convenient location; short walk or ride to attractions.
• Noisy construction next door to hotel.

“Overall, we enjoyed my stay at this Holiday Inn. It was a short walk (or bus ride) to most attractions. The hotel was clean, the staff was friendly, and the area was safe to walk at night. Construction was going on next door (which was noisy), but we weren't in our room long enough during the day for it to bother us. The other downside, no restaurant in the hotel and only two within a four block radius.”

• Great help from the front desk, regarding places I wanted to go to.
• Room was tiny!

“Good location, close to the tube and easy walk to many places. The breakfast was tasty. Don't plan on spending much time in your room because they can be very small.”

• The beds were so comfortable.
• The rooms were not clean at all.

“Overall it was ok, the reception area was spotless but the bedrooms could do with a really good clean I did not see a housekeeper all the time I was there put note the beds were very comfortable. It was in a good location close to most attractions.”

• Clean, new, breakfast included.
• Internet access very expensive.

“Great value. This hotel was clean, new, and conveniently located in the center of London, near several tourist attractions and the Southward Tube station. I wish the internet access was included or at least a bit cheaper, but the hotel was still great.”
