“Hotel is a good value for the money. Internet not worth getting. They use B wireless routers and connectivity is very poor.” Dec 3, 2009 by
Alison from Sudbury,Canada
“Nice, well trained staff. Excellent location, you can walk to stores, restaurants and bars. Very clean. Easily located when driving from out of town.” Nov 20, 2009 by
Tamara Kara from Markham,Canada
“It was a quiet, comfortable stay. The room we got was beautiful.” Oct 12, 2009 by
Joaquim from Plantation,FL “This hotel was probably a nice one some 25 years ago. It needs some major uplifting if it wants to be suitable to demanding guests.” Oct 1, 2009 by
Stacey from Milton,Canada
“My husband and I were attending an event downtown being held at the Four Seasons. We would have loved to stay there but our pocket book wouldn't have. We put in a bid at Priceline and was ecstatic to get the Sutton Place. It is old world charm with modern amenities. The staff were very friendly, the room was big, clean and had a big flat screen TV not that we watched it. The bed was comfy and being on the 16th floor there was little street noise. Our view was of Bay facing west so you couldn't see downtown but we've seen it so no biggie. There was no balcony so if it were a summertime stay you'd be confined to your room. The pool was small but it got you wet and the sauna was great. We didn't eat there so I can't comment on the food. I hated paying $25 for parking but you'd pay close to that pretty much anywhere in the vicinity. Overall, a great stay and a great deal!” Sep 30, 2009 by
Cathy from Ottawa,Canada
“Old-fashioned ambiance, French provincial furniture in rooms, beautiful lobby, close to government and business - less convenient for shopping, especially when the weather is not good for walking. Could use some kind of advisory posted in the lobby to warn or advise visitors of events they may want to attend or traffic issues such as street closures which may affect travel times to airports, trains, etc. Hotel staff seemed unable or unwilling to control loud partying on our floor at 4:00 am.” Sep 24, 2009 by
Pam from Charlottetown,Canada
“The hotel was older but not rundown. It was historic and beautiful, within walking distance to anything in the city. The room was lovely, the bed plush and comfortable and the bathroom had everything necessary. We had a suite and it was large and spacious.” Sep 21, 2009 by
Ed from Calgary,Canada “Beautiful rooms, great location, and 2 blocks from subway stop.” Sep 21, 2009 by
Denis from Fort Mcmurray,Canada
“The hotel met all of our expectations except for the pool.” Sep 16, 2009 by
Matthew from Guelph,Canada “Staff were extreamly good and helped us with all our needs.” Sep 9, 2009 by
Oliver from Mississauga,Canada
“This hotel surpassed my expectations and my room was absolutely gorgeous. The staff was very friendly.” Sep 6, 2009 by
Laura from New York,NY
“First impressions are positive when you first walk in, however, the hotel lets itself down by having a locked minibar, few available toiletries, and slightly dilapidated furniture. The front office proved to be rather unhelpful as they would not print out boarding passes and insisted I use the business centre at $5 per 15 minutes and $1 per page even though it was closed.” Jun 19, 2009 by
Henry from Canton,OH
“Great hotel, good location, great rooms.” Jun 7, 2009 by
Rick from Yarmouth Port,MA
“Nice hotel but would not rate it above 4 stars.” May 25, 2009 by

David from Alexandria,VA

“Unfortunately my recent stay at the Sutton Place Hotel was awful. The wireless internet was ridiculously slow.” Mar 23, 2009 by
Karin from Picton,Canada
“Great location, well-maintained and efficient.” Mar 12, 2009 by
Barbara from Ridgeway,Canada
“It had its day clean outdated.” Mar 12, 2009 by
Maureen from Wiarton,Canada
“Very nice hotel would definetly reccomend to others.” Mar 7, 2009 by
Michelle from Picton,Canada
“This hotel was elegant, but not ideal for the leisure traveler. It is not in a good location to quickly get to attractions in Toronto and has no shopping or restaurants nearby. The room was extremely noisy, could hear every noise from next door and above. Doors constantly slamming, music etc!” Mar 2, 2009 by
Kelly from Callander,Canada
“Stayed one night, great location, parking attendants were great, hotel reception was very rude, bathroom door was a slider and would not close, shower was a geriatric model and water went into the toilet area.” Feb 19, 2009 by
Mary Ellen from Youngstown,NY
“We stayed in a beautiful king deluxe room on the 18th floor, and it was one of the largest rooms we've ever stayed in in Toronto. Comfy bed, Gilchrist and Soames bath products, large plasma screen tv, and a coffeemaker. Everything went well beyond our expectations and we had a wonderful stay.” Jan 4, 2009 by
Corey from Holland,OH
“Great hotel. Great location. Great staff. I would stay again on my next trip to Toronto. Highly recommend.” Dec 9, 2008 by
Bill from W Vancouver,Canada
“Staff was courteous and helpful but the dining room for breakfast was poor. Someone from this hotel should go to a Marriott or Hilton and see what a breakfast buffet should look like. I thought $35 for a really poor meal was a bit like London before they lost most of their tourism business and changed modes.” Dec 5, 2008 by
Chris from Afton,NY
“I was impressed with the room when I first walked in. However my opinion lowered when I went to bed on a bed of lesser quality than ones I have slept in in the past. Then in the shower, I noticed mold up high in the shower all the way around. I am sure it was out of reach of the average maid, but needs to be addressed. Shampoo were in containers attached to the wall of the shower.” Dec 3, 2008 by
Marlene from Toronto,Canada
“They did give me 2 adjoining rooms on a corner of the floor as I requested, but did not give us 2 double beds in each as I wanted.” Dec 3, 2008 by
Cheri from Barrie,Canada
“The hotel is in a great location, the staff is very friendly. Our room was not the cleanest, the sink in the bathroom was dirty, and other than that the rest of the room was clean.” Nov 30, 2008 by
Lynne from Montreal,Canada
“Ok, clean and proper hotel in midtown location. Near subway station and 24 hours foodmart, acroos the street from Tim Horton's if you wish a quick coffee in the morning.” Nov 27, 2008 by
Bruce from Cameron,Canada
“I had made arrangements for the staff to have some things sent to my room for when we arrived. When I checked in that staff assured me that it would be sent to my room and be there for when my wife and I got to the room. After 60 minutes waiting in the room I went to the front desk and canceled the order. At that point we left and went out for dinner. I found the the staff did not really care that this detail was missed and did not try to offer any alternative. I will not stay at this hotel again and will not recommend this hotel to anyone.” Nov 23, 2008 by
Cheryl from Kagawong,Canada
“The hotel was very clean and conveniently located. I would recommend this hotel to family and friends.” Nov 17, 2008 by
Laura from Peterborough,Canada
“Hotel is located 1 block from subway. Although aimed at business travelers was perfect for my overnight with young child. More intimate than most large hotels, real concierge and staff courteous and competent. Rooms very good size and beautifully finished. Room service excellent (perfect for breakfast)and pool design and temperature perfect for an activity.” Nov 10, 2008 by
Brad from Strathroy,Canada
“The hotel was attractive and centrally located in downtown Toronto. The room had a flat screen TV and was very spacious. However, the parking was too expensive, and the mini-fridge was locked so I couldn't put my beverages in it.” Nov 5, 2008 by
Erica
“I enjoyed staying at this hotel. The people that work at the hotel were friendly, even the people that work at the restaurant. The rooms were clean and comfortable.” Oct 24, 2008 by
Rosa
“Would not stay here again.” Oct 23, 2008 by

“Beautiful place. Building is old therefore the elevator noise echoes throughout the hotel. I would not recommend this for business travelers unless you plan on getting no sleep. Horrible trip.” Oct 23, 2008 by
Christine
“Great hotel, clean bright room. Had to plug coffee maker in bathroom. No pen or paper in room. Awesome bed and bed linens. Nice sized room.” Oct 15, 2008 by

“Did not have hot water in the shower during the daytime hours. We felt like some of the staff was rather cold. Have had friendlier staff at the Marriott. The hotel is beautiful and we were very pleased. Extremely clean and quiet during our visit. Paid $25/day for self parking at the hotel. Wish they would have offered us the choice of parking just around the corner for a flat rate of $3.50 - would have appreciated being told about that choice - we only became aware of that parking at the end of our stay.” Oct 8, 2008 by
Jeff
“Short of the lack of noise insulted windows the room and staff was excellent.

“When we politely called about having no ice availability (broken machines on the three closest floors), we were flatly told that they do not deliver ice under any circumstance. We then noted for a 4 diamond hotel, this was unexpected, the response was so?Unbelievable - really! Everything else about the hotel was just fine though.” Oct 1, 2008 by

“Hotel is generally well-maintained and has good-quality furnishings in large guest rooms. With better services and amenities. Unfortunately, bathrooms are a bit on the small side. Location is good, within walking distance to the trendy Yorkville neighborhood. My non-smoking room was, apparently, adjacent to a smoking room and there was a connecting door between the two rooms. Not a good situation. Entire floors should be non-smoking to avoid this problem in which my room had a strong odor of fresh cigarette smoke, which only manifested itself after someone checked-in to the adjacent room.” Sep 30, 2008 by
Christian
“Design is a bit old-fashioned but in a stylish way.” Sep 24, 2008 by
Lisa
“Excellent hotel, very well taken care of. This hotel has always had a very good reputation since the 1970's, am very happy to see they have maintained that reputation.” Sep 10, 2008 by
Dean from Toronto, ON CA
“Quite frankly the room was not safe. The sink leaked over the washroom floor. I had to brush my teeth in the bathtub. When the washroom was inspected by the service agent he agreed the sink needed replacing. I feel cheated and will definitely reconsider using any service like this again. Thanks.” Sep 6, 2008 by
Louise from Birmingham, AL
“Great experience.” Sep 5, 2008 by
Janet from Port Hope, ON CA
“Nice location, nice room, too bad Toronto Streets are so busy and the sound proofing of rooms couldn't be better.” Sep 3, 2008 by
Lisa from Avon, NY
“This is a very nice hotel in a great location close to Yorkville, the ROM, and U of T, and a short walk to Yonge St. and the metro. The superior king corner rooms are very spacious and comfortable, with a nice large bathroom.” Aug 31, 2008 by
Susan from Ottawa, ON CA
“We were impressed with the value for price. We liked the quieter location but near enough to Union St. and the Eaton Ctr. and Yorkville. We were very hot in our room the AC didn't work, had it looked at twice and it still didn't work. Sun loading on the room on the sunny corner of the hotel at 29 deg.C in to it was not pleasant. We did get a fan but it was still very uncomfortable. We also were disappointed that the cups for the coffee maker were cardboard at 4star they should be china. The tea was Earl Grey which is very perfumed and delicate. I bought a bone china cup and some reg. tea. Not enough cream provided. Otherwise we were very happy.” Aug 28, 2008 by
Michelle from Oswego, NY
“While this hotel was a beautiful, luxury hotel, I was not happy that upon checking in found out that they only had king beds available and they did not have sofas with pullout beds, or cots available. Also, they only had 2 towels for 3 people. Even if there were just 2 people because of the king room, I think they could spare putting in a few extra towels. Another disappointment was to find that you had to pay about $15 per day for internet access. I think this is ridiculous, almost every hotel including national economical hotels, like Day's inn, Quality Inn, Econo Lodge etc. has free internet.” Aug 27, 2008 by
Suzanne from Cobourg, ON CA
“This hotel was within walking distance of the Royal Alexandra Theatre, plus choices of good restaurants. The room we were given was very comfortable, updated and quite quiet during the night, which is very important to us. The staff at the front desk were very efficient & courteous. We had no personal needs while we were guests there. A very positive experience. We also appreciated the Tim Horton's directly across the street for a quick meal in the morning.”
