• Decent price and convenient location.
• Surprise about parking rate with cheaper parking across the street.

“Almost on the edge of all of the sights and a block from the underground walkway. If you were going in winter it would be better to go a couple of blocks closer to parliment.”

• The location is great and it is a nice safe property.
• We had some minor plumming issues but no big deal.

“I have stayed at this property and always an excellent value. The parking is $13.00 plus tax but so is any other hotel downtown or more. The capitol buildings are a short walk away as well as the downtown marketplace. The restaurant is pretty good for a hotel restaurant and the web access is nice for free in the lobby.”

• Hotel was clean and with in walking distance to restaurants.
• I requested 2 double beds through the hotel and was given one and a roll away. Room was too small for roll away.

“Hotel was clean and comfortable. Could walk to mall and restaurants. Whirlpool was not working which was a small inconvenience and the room was too small to accommodate 3 people.”

• The hotel had a great location to get to things in downtown Ottawa.
• The room was very small and the restaurant was terrible.

“A good location, but not worth the price especially when they make you pay for parking in the garage downstairs. People are nice, but the restaurant is a total. The portions are too small, not well cooked, and much overpriced for such small portions.”

• Beds were nice, and room was clean.
• No pool, hot tub was under repair, gym was in another hotel room?

“I was disappointed for several reasons. It was as if in the mind of the hotel these guests got a deal so we will give them the room across from the elevator beside the housekeeping utility closet. It was noisy all night and we didn't get a good night sleep. We couldn't check ourselves out and we were told it was because we booked on line. We probably wouldn't have gotten put beside a broom closet and across from the elevator either. The restaurant in the hotel was Mexican. Not my first choice. We ate dinner and had to send it back and then had breakfast there and had to send it back (hair in the food) needless to say, we didn't go back a third time! Disappointing experience overall.”

• Clean, modern, good location.
• Small rooms, expensive restaurant, abrupt restaurant staff.

“Indefinable a hotel for the overnight business traveler, NOT for families especially with children, they are frowned upon by other business guests. Elevators not working 2 of the 3 days, had to walk down 5 flights of stairs with a disabled person, no help at desk. Restaurant staff abrupt and it is very expensive and food not good. Would not stay at this hotel again.”

• It's convenience to the center of Ottawa.
• The food.

“This hotel is good to stay on a budget price. There is virtually no bar or good food. It is near downtown and all restaurants. It is quiet.”

“Hotel is located downtown near the St. Patrick Basilica. It has a nice restaurant downstairs. The rooms are very comfortable with the new mattresses and free Internet access quite comfortable lodging all in all.”

• Parking could be difficult.

“It has great location. The staff there are extremely friendly and helpful. The best feature about this four star hotel is they providing complementary Internet services. We are told they are going to upgrade their Ethernet services into wireless (hope it will still be complementary).”

• The hotel is better than I expected. the price and location was too good.
• Parking, double bed for couple.

“The hotel met my expectations the staff was too nice and cooperative. I liked the Internet-ready-Computer at lobby. I didn't like the room with double bed allocated for a couple. I requested king size bed, but there were no rooms available with king size bed. overall my stay was pleasant.”

• Close to everything.
• Room were very small. Dinning was a little disappointing for dinner but breakfast was great.

“Close to all the sites and walking distance is easy to activities and dinning. Didn't like the fact that we had to pay for parking while at the hotel. $13 a day was a lot and we hadn't budgeted this into our plans. The canal and market area were wonderful to stroll along and the shopping was really great. The war museum was top notch and worth the money along with the Aviation museum.”

“Location wasn't great - about 15 minutes from the main tourist areas. Room was small, but clean. Staff were friendly and helpful. Parking was terrible - spots were TINY. DO NOT drive here.”

• It was central to downtown Ottawa.
• Parking was difficult.

“Easy to find. It met all of my expectations for an overnight stay in Ottawa. The parking garage was a bit difficult to get in and out of. I would stay there again if in Ottawa.”

• The rooms were adequate and clean. The beds were good.
• The restaurant was outdated and limited menu.

“We had two rooms at the Radisson and found it to be a good hotel for the price we paid. It is a very basic hotel. No bellman, no room service, a limited restaurant. The rooms are fine, but not anything to write home about. The bathrooms were adequate, maybe could use some remodeling. The hotel was clean and in a quiet area, though it's not really near Parliament (3/4 blocks away). There were some good restaurants in the area. I would stay here again if I got a really good price ($50.00) but I think there are better choices in Ottawa.”

• Very old, worn out leather chair in room (no material left on seat of chair).

“I would not stay in this hotel again. There was a musty smell to the entire 4th floor. We had no hot water (room 419) and the furnishing (namely a leather business chair) was very worn and not suitable for guests. ”

• The restaurant food there was the second worst I have ever dined on.

“This hotel was in a quiet location for nighttime but close to the parliament buildings for sightseeing in the daytime. They had a high speed internet connection in the room. Room was neat and tidy and very much to our liking.”

• It is in downtown, 5 minutes walking to Capital Hill.
• You have to pay $14 for parking.

“This one is not too fancy, no swimming pool. However, it has coin-operated washers and dryers so you can wash and dry all your stuff. If you have been on vacation with kids for several days, this is a good place to go for one night.”

“Was assigned a 2nd floor smoking room; Was told no-smoking rooms all sold out; smoke odor very strong as soon as one steps out of elevator. Was not able to get Internet to work on LAN cable provided.”

• They tried to put 2 guys in one bed. I have always had 2 doubles in the 10 years.

• The staff was attentive for the most part.
• They put a bus load of children on the floor we were staying. It was very annoying.

“The best feature is the location. Other than that, I don't have many nice things to say. They staff were OK. They put a bus load of children on our floor and it turned out to be a dormitory floor with all the kids screaming and yelling. We complained many times but nothing was done until my partner threatened to call the police. Finally, we requested changing the floor and it was approved. The whirlpool was not working and rooms were average sized.”

• Desk clerk lied when we checked out by saying she knew nothing of these complaints by us.

“When we checked in around 5 p.m. we found used soap in shower. I went to make coffee and old coffee and grounds were in coffee pot. When air conditioner ran the urine odor was terrible. The next day they mudded bed and that was it. Coffeepot, used soap, urine odor all was the same. Best Western will not get our business again.”

• It was clean, close to Tim Hortons and easy to get on the major highway.
• There was no pool which is important when traveling with kids and we were on a smoking floor, ugh!

• Parking was $14.95/night, the parking garage was tiny! And breakfast was not included.

“The hotel was very nice, great location, nice lobby. Everyone who worked there was nice, and helpful. We thought that breakfast was included, but it wasn't. I don't recommend eating in the hotel restaurants- it's totally overpriced and not that great .The room was bigger than we expected, the beds comfortable. And we could walk to a lot of cool places in Ottawa.”

• A bit far from BYWARD. Nice walk when weather is nice though.

“The Radisson is your most likely bet to accept a lower offer in the three stars category. The sleep number bed is fun and comfortable. Small building 11 floors. Higher floors provide better views. The double queen rooms are huge!”

• The hotel was on Queen St. which leads right into downtown.
• Rooms were small and the overall feel was so-so.

“Downtown Ottawa is very nice and this hotel is about a 15 min. walk to downtown. The hotel is nice what I expected from a Radisson. The rooms was OK, nothing spectacular. More like a low 2 star.”

“Used to be a Travelodge, changed to Radisson a while ago. Nice lobby, but overall not quite up to the standard of other Radissons I've stayed at. Rooms are a bit small, the desk chair in our room was very worn and wall was stained. Beds were a little soft, especially considering the quality of beds at other hotels (e.g. Marriott, Sheraton) these days. Not bad place, I think the weekend rate here was $120 CAD.”

“The nice thing about it is free internet, it is a little difficult for me to find a hotel with free internet at this price at the capital of Canada. The stiffness, adjustable two queen size beds were good. The location is good too. Cleaning crew was nice. The room is really small. To me, it is like those in Hong Kong and Japan. It does not include parking $15 Canadian a day. Also, even most rooms were vacant, they dont allow you to do late check out at 1:00PM. The food at the 1st floor restaurant is not good.”
