• All the paperwork was ready & easy check in.
• Not enough electrical outlets.

“NO bed sheets were placed in the room. Unable to find easily writing paper & pen. Not enough electrical outlets. Drinking bottled water was very expensive.”

• It had a beautiful entry way and lobby.
• The unnecessary mini bar and overpriced (cheap) bottled water, overpriced parking.

“I thought this to be a very nice hotel, in a nice area of downtown. The staff was friendly and helpful. The hotel was clean and fresh; however, hotel corridors seemed a bit dated. The room was plain but clean, the chairs not the most comfortable, but met the need.”

• Hotel had free internet but was very slow and unusable it was worthless couldn't get work done.

• Location and contemporary atmosphere.
• Not the cleanest room; toiletries were cheap (no conditioner!); mini bar was a trap.

“The hotel is situated in a great location, within walking distance to great dining/shops. In general, the hotel is nice, but they skimp on a lot of hotel "givens." the mini bar was set up on sensors, so that if you even moved an item, you would be charged for it (i.e., if you pick it up, you are automatically charged). Staff was relatively friendly. Parking was a hidden expense.”

• Very convenient location, clean and quiet.
• Noisy construction going on directly in front of hotel during early a.m. Hours!

“Excellent location near front street and nearby subway station. Clean and tidy, and would not hesitate to stay there again. I emailed before hand and asked hotel for two beds which was not a problem for them. I loved that! The room was smoking, but that doesn't bother me as much as sharing a bed.”

• Major construction right in front of the hotel. Started at 7 AM with Huge noise and trucks.

“Hotel location is excellent, close to restaurants and clubs, steps from Younger and St Lawrence Market. The hotel rooms could use some updating. I half expected Crockett and Tubbs to staying in room next door based on the decor. The pool area could also use an update. The real sour point was the poor service received at breakfast. While the food was good the service was nothing short of terrible. The waiter was rude and slow, in order to get the bill we had to ask another member of the wait staff. The maid and front desk were excellent. Based on the location this hotel would be worth another stay.”

• The design of the facilities were good.
• The hotel was difficult to find.

“The hotel is two blocks from the closest subway station. Finding the hotel took longer than it should have because it is on a small side street and is easily overlooked. The standard room with two queen beds was clean and nicely designed. The bathroom was well-lighted with modern facilities.”

• VERY nice, fun looking rooms & a bit different from my usual.
• NOTHING!! Never got a chance to use the pool/hot tub.

“The hotel was clean, safe and in a great location, in relationship to the Hummingbird Theater. The hotel staff was friendly, professional and helpful and the food in the dining room was excellent. It was a bit steep for my pocketbook though, but it served its purpose well anyway.”

• Excellent location in safe, vibrant area with easy access to expressway.
• Lack of safe in room, if you can provide a minibar, you can provide a safe !!

• Perfect location for sight-seeing.
• The room was dirty upon our arrival.

“Although the Novotel Toronto Centre appeared to be very nice from the outside and in the lobby, the room was small and not as clean as we had expected. There was hair on the bathroom floor, and a stain on the bed cover. When we commented about this to the staff, they were not very helpful and really just offered us another blanket (rather than doing the cleaning and replacing of the blanket as I would expect). The location was perfect for seeing Toronto. ”

“This hotel was in a great location, with nice rooms, near everything and I would definitely stay there again. Parking fee was $16.00 daily but this is usual with city hotels. Had to bring in my own luggage. I was there on business in Toronto and had no problem getting to my meetings around town from there.”

• Stains on the carpet, cleaning personnel failed to clean the room one day

“Conveniently located providing access to all the major streets and shopping centers. However, it is not in the heart of Toronto downtown, you will have to walk 20 minutes+ to major city attractions. Great restaurant, strongly recommend their salads and lamb rack, which was fantastic. Generally clean and cozy, nice amenities, including gym and pool. A couple of minor issues I had was a huge stain on the carpet of otherwise very clean room, which for some reason was irritating me; and one of the days the cleaning personnel did not clean my room for some reason.”

“I was surprised to arrive at the hotel and was only offered a room with dialup phone data ports. I was offered only an option for $25.00 extra a night, and I had 6 nights on my stay, for a room with ethernet data ports. Sure it was presumably a 'larger' room and came with free newspaper, but I hated being stuck with that option upon arrival.”

“I was shocked at the Novotel Toronto. It may be a 1 star as it was much worse than any of the 3 or 2 star hotels I have stayed in before. The hotel is dirty and very rundown. The service is non-existent. I hate to sound harsh, however I was very disappointed. I do not think this hotel deserves or should be classified a 3 star as it is no where near a Hilton, Marriott, Sheraton, Hyatt, or Embassy Suites.”

“The Novotel is located a block from the Gardiner Expressway in Toronto and is extremely accessible. It is close to everything in downtown Toronto, the CN Tower, the Hard Rock Cafe, the Toronto Sky dome, the Harbor and it's many restaurants and Shoppe's. It is close to Chinatown and Little Italy and if you hit it at the right time of day, traffic is not bad at all. It was a good experience. The Hotel staff was friendly and always helpful even to someone like me who visits Toronto about 4 times a year and knows his way around.”

“The room was clean and newly renovated (very nice bathroom), and the hotel had a gym and swimming pool. The only (small) gripes I have are that the showers for the gym & swimming pool were out of order during the time I was there, and the toilet flush in my room was somewhat broken (it required pulling upwards sometimes to stop the flow of water, and even then the toilet leaked water). The location of the hotel was a bit too far south of the city center for my liking, but still a walkable distance (30 mins' walk to Church and Carlton). The hotel parking fee was also a bit steep for hotel guests (over CND$18 a day).”

“I went to Toronto, and this hotel was a great deal, and a complete package. They had great clean rooms, a pool, weight room and helpful staff to help us to get where we wanted to visit in the area. I would highly recommend this hotel.”
