• Fantastic lobby, free internet and security of the building.

“Great quiet location yet was close to the sights and the nightlife. Conveniently located near public transit and the major expressway. Friendly, helpful staff made the stay enjoyable.”

• The staff was very friendly and the buffet breakfast was awesome.
• The only negative thing we experienced was the construction in the lower level of the parking lot.

“We really enjoyed our stay at this hotel. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The rooms and the pool were well kept and clean. It was also very well located for attending attractions at the Air Canada Center and for shopping on Yonge Street and the Eaton Center. We would certainly recomend this Hotel to other people.”

• It was elegant and clean nice king sized bed good location to good restaurants, CN tower, etc.
• All the extra service fees, hotel parking should be free, $20 a day is too much. The hotel cost is enough and things in fridge too much.

“Very nice lobby and rooms but, our room smelled of cigarette smoke and was a non smoking room that was not a pleasant smell. All in all very nice we stayed at Novetel in Montreal and were looking forward to the flat screen TV and updated bathroom. Bar was nice and friendly. Breakfast buffet was really nice.”

• Very European. Upscale, clean, friendly staff.
• The drilling in the parking garage that started at 8 am!

“The hotel was wonderful. I would have preferred to sleep in, but there was drilling in the parking garage that started at 8 am. It was very loud! At least we got up and going early that day!”

• Creme rinse/no shampoo, 3 star hotel with paper cups/plastic glasses in room.

“Nice exterior appearance. Hotel staff mixed - It take 15 minutes to check in. Room was ordinary (in my case with no view) - place seems to need a 'refresh' = particularly when it comes to staff. Plastic glasses/paper cups reminds me of Super 8 motel.”

• Convenient to Downtown and nice pool.
• Cleaning staff wake you with loud talking out side room so they could get into clean knock on your door several times.

“I like the hotel. The parking should be free as my clean car was covered in dust from construction in parking garage, fine cement dust not good for paint job. Cleaning staff noisy and made you feel you had to get out of your room so they could clean, after three knocks on room even though we where staying another night.”

• It had a beautiful entry way and lobby.
• The unnecessary mini bar and overpriced (cheap) bottled water, overpriced parking.

“I thought this to be a very nice hotel, in a nice area of downtown. The staff was friendly and helpful. The hotel was clean and fresh; however, hotel corridors seemed a bit dated. The room was plain but clean, the chairs not the most comfortable, but met the need.”

• Not the cleanest room; toiletries were cheap (no conditioner!); mini bar was a trap.

“The hotel is situated in a great location, within walking distance to great dining/shops. In general, the hotel is nice, but they skimp on a lot of hotel "givens." the mini bar was set up on sensors, so that if you even moved an item, you would be charged for it (i.e., if you pick it up, you are automatically charged). Staff was relatively friendly. Parking was a hidden expense.”

“Excellent location near front street and nearby subway station. Clean and tidy, and would not hesitate to stay there again. I emailed before hand and asked hotel for two beds which was not a problem for them. I loved that! The room was smoking, but that doesn't bother me as much as sharing a bed.”

“Hotel location is excellent, close to restaurants and clubs, steps from Younger and St Lawrence Market. The hotel rooms could use some updating. I half expected Crockett and Tubbs to staying in room next door based on the decor. The pool area could also use an update. The real sour point was the poor service received at breakfast. While the food was good the service was nothing short of terrible. The waiter was rude and slow, in order to get the bill we had to ask another member of the wait staff. The maid and front desk were excellent. Based on the location this hotel would be worth another stay.”

• The design of the facilities were good.
• The hotel was difficult to find.

“The hotel is two blocks from the closest subway station. Finding the hotel took longer than it should have because it is on a small side street and is easily overlooked. The standard room with two queen beds was clean and nicely designed. The bathroom was well-lighted with modern facilities.”

• Lack of safe in room, if you can provide a minibar, you can provide a safe !!

• The room was dirty upon our arrival.

“Although the Novotel Toronto Centre appeared to be very nice from the outside and in the lobby, the room was small and not as clean as we had expected. There was hair on the bathroom floor, and a stain on the bed cover. When we commented about this to the staff, they were not very helpful and really just offered us another blanket (rather than doing the cleaning and replacing of the blanket as I would expect). The location was perfect for seeing Toronto. ”

“This hotel was in a great location, with nice rooms, near everything and I would definitely stay there again. Parking fee was $16.00 daily but this is usual with city hotels. Had to bring in my own luggage. I was there on business in Toronto and had no problem getting to my meetings around town from there.”

“Conveniently located providing access to all the major streets and shopping centers. However, it is not in the heart of Toronto downtown, you will have to walk 20 minutes+ to major city attractions. Great restaurant, strongly recommend their salads and lamb rack, which was fantastic. Generally clean and cozy, nice amenities, including gym and pool. A couple of minor issues I had was a huge stain on the carpet of otherwise very clean room, which for some reason was irritating me; and one of the days the cleaning personnel did not clean my room for some reason.”

“I was surprised to arrive at the hotel and was only offered a room with dialup phone data ports. I was offered only an option for $25.00 extra a night, and I had 6 nights on my stay, for a room with ethernet data ports. Sure it was presumably a 'larger' room and came with free newspaper, but I hated being stuck with that option upon arrival.”

“I was shocked at the Novotel Toronto. It may be a 1 star as it was much worse than any of the 3 or 2 star hotels I have stayed in before. The hotel is dirty and very rundown. The service is non-existent. I hate to sound harsh, however I was very disappointed. I do not think this hotel deserves or should be classified a 3 star as it is no where near a Hilton, Marriott, Sheraton, Hyatt, or Embassy Suites.”
