“Great hotel - off the hectic Waikiki path. Fabulous view from room, large windows can remain open. Nice amenities - pool, fitness.” Dec 10, 2009 by
David from Apo,AP
“This hotel continues to have the friendly and attentive staff that has brought me back to it several times. They were very friendly with our children and made them feel like very important guests. Another thing that I really like about this hotel is that all the rooms face the marina. This means that the vast majority of traffic noise is eliminated and you can expect to get a good night's sleep. And the sunsets that are visible, WOW.” Nov 9, 2009 by
Tony from Atlanta,GA
“Very nice. The hotel has a bad musty odor in the lobby and some of the rooms. That was our only issue.” Oct 29, 2009 by
Richard from Hilo,HI
“Great hotel with great food in the restaurant we visited. Hotel and room were clean and staff was friendly.” Oct 27, 2009 by
Becky from Eatonville,WA
“Very quiet, spacious hotel. Helpful staff included concierge and activities desk. Discount coupons for food/drinks in the lounge upon arrival. Unbelievable views of marina and ocean.” Oct 21, 2009 by
Susan from Del Mar,CA “Close to beach but away from tourist hub.” Sep 16, 2009 by
Park from Honolulu,HI
“I really satisfied great ocean view of this hotel but expensive breakfast is not recommended.” Sep 16, 2009 by
Dennis from Fullerton,CA
“The hotel is relatively new and the rooms are very clean and the bathroom is very nice. The sound isolation is also very good. The doors of the adjacent rooms are spaced fairly wide, so I couldn't hear any doors slamming shut. Overall the hotel is very relaxing place to stay.” Sep 6, 2009 by
Ken from Beaverton,OR
“Friendly staff and very nice views from all of the rooms.” Aug 29, 2009 by
Lori from Tacoma,WA
“This hotel was extremely convenient to Waikiki and also to the ala Moana shopping center. The view from the rooms was terrific. The staff was very friendly, and did a great job of getting our three rooms together. The rooms were very clean, and the bathroom was bigger than expected. The refrigerator in the room was also a nice extra. The furnishings may need updating - but all in all, as an extremely seasoned traveler, I have only praise for this hotel.” Aug 26, 2009 by
Lorna from Bainbridge Island,WA
“The front desk personnel were polite and accomodating. The hotel was very quiet and I was concerned because our rooms were right across from the elevator. The large windows that looked out to the marina and harbor opened, which was a very pleasant surprise. The rooms were a bit stark and not very resort-like, really could use an update, but for what we paid for the rooms, it was adequate. The beds were much too hard, but maybe that was to accomodate the predominantly Asian clientele. We chose the hotel because we needed a convenient place for one night in Waikiki on our way up to the North Shore the following day. It satisfied all of our needs, but I would not neccessarily pick it for my entire stay in Waikiki as a family vacation, unless you were really on a budget.” Aug 26, 2009 by
Lynn from Racine,WI
“Beautiful 2 tower hotel with an attractive lobby and valet area which was very convienent for tour bus pickups. Beds were comfortable and the air conditioning was very quiet with no blowers like most hotels. Very quiet and peaceful for sleeping.Bathroom was very roomy with a tub and a shower stall.” Aug 26, 2009 by
Mel from Glassboro,NJ
“The hotel itself is very attractive. The customer service was great with very pleasant staff members. The rooms were big and comfortable. The bathrooms were gorgeous with a separate toilet, bath, and shower area. There is convenient $.40/hour metered parking right across the street. Also, free Waikiki beach parking from 4:30AM to 10:30PM only a 5 minute walk away.” Aug 23, 2009 by
Nando from San Antonio,TX
“This hotel is located close to a park that seems to be a gathering place for homeless folks. I did not see those folks loitering in or near the hotel though. I would think twice about walking through that area at night. They said no but still, people came in to register and they received their room right away. We waited for over an hour and half before they brought us our keys (we received no welcome package like everyone else). We waited there with our luggage and then we had to move because they were setting up for a luncheon and they needed to use our space. I considered buying tent and going to the park and set up with the homeless folks.” Aug 14, 2009 by
Lokelani from Hilo,HI
“I enjoyed my stay here at the Waikiki Prince Hotel and would recommand anyone to stay at this hotel. Location, location, location perfect location.” Aug 4, 2009 by
from Hilo,HI
“Everything was grand from the moment I arrived to when I departed. What a view of the Ala Wai marina, Ala Moana park, the southwest portion of the island and the Waianae mountain range from the room's window!” Aug 1, 2009 by
Natalie from Los Angeles,CA
“The Hawaii Prince is a luxury hotel that has seen better days. Although the service is fantastic, and the views are phenomenal, they need a reality check in terms of the here and now. Rooms and lobby are extremely out of date. Everything is in need of a major overhaul and update. In the Frommer's book, it said that they installed flat screen televisions in each room--absolutely not true. We had an old, bulky twenty year tv in our room.” Jul 17, 2009 by
Alida from Voorhees,NJ
“Waikiki Marriott Resort. Hotel is in a very busy and noisy street. Pricey parking $29 for self parking and $32 for valet. Inaccurately double changed for parking, carefully check your bill before you leave.” Jul 6, 2009 by
Lucy from Kamuela,HI
“Close to shopping and recreation. Rooms were beautiful with a gorgeous view of the harbor.” Jul 6, 2009 by
Tyler from Spokane,WA
“Great service, great location, great room, great atmosphere. Just GREAT!” Jun 28, 2009 by
Jon from Salt Lake City,UT
“The Hawaii Prince Hotel is a great hotel if you don't want all the tourist attraction of Waikiki but want to remain fairly close to all the action. Overlooking the boat harbor, the hotel is a great stay for business or romantic couples. The hotel is a bit stuffy for families although we did see a couple around. The room leaves a little bit to be desired as the beds and linens need updating. Parking can also be a nightmare as they close the parking structure to guest only (spaces are tight!) Overall a very comfortable stay and a very friendly front desk staff.” Jun 4, 2009 by
Rose from Owings Mills,MD
“I enjoyed my stay.” May 29, 2009 by
Daniel from West Hollywood,CA
“The hotel is showing its age. The quality of the beds really does not compare with other hotels of 4-star quality. The location is a bit out of the way, but not inconvenient. The rooms and common areas were clean and well-kept and the staff very friendly. I enjoyed the pool -- the best pina coladas we had the whole trip! I consider this more of a 3.5 star than 4.” May 6, 2009 by
Mike from Denver,CO
“Close to Waikiki but not in the crowds, close to restaurants, good road access, nice facility, great staff.” Apr 23, 2009 by
Terry from Kahului,HI
“Beautiful hotel, very clean, workers were very attentive to my needs.” Apr 7, 2009 by
Claudia from Kapaa,HI
“My family has stayed at this hotel a number of times. It is nice because it isn't right in the middle of all the wildness of any area, but rather sits almost by itself on the corner of Ala Moana Park. The rooms are very clean, and the staff is very helpful and courteous. I have never had anyone be rude to me in this hotel. They always try to be very accommodating. There are slippers in the closet and I believe robes, although I didn't look for those this time. The bathrooms are very clean, large and have separate tubs/showers and a large dressing area. Toilets are in a separate area too. I can't say enough about this hotel as it tends to be one of the more roomy, comfortable hotels and never feels like a million people have been in the room before you. The rooms have a nice clean, not dark, feeling and lots of windows that you can actually open and receive the ocean breeze or hear the city sounds, but also when you close them the noise is shut out and there is air conditioning. Open the curtains fully and you have a full wall of windows looking out over your view. Love that feature. Enjoy!” Apr 5, 2009 by
Kim from Barrington,IL
“The hotel was very clean and the front desk and concierge were extremely helpful when trying to find directions. The room was always clean when we would return. The view of the ocean was great and the large open window with no screens was fantastic for sleeping and watching fireworks at night.” Apr 3, 2009 by
Susan from Provo,UT
“We love this hotel and wish that our stay is longer. We felt so much at home. The service is fantastic! It is a great place for family members to lodge. Every hotel staff is just so friendly. The valet service is efficient and timely. The shuttle service to Waikiki is so convenient. The hotel lobby is pretty and presentable. There is a pretty view of the yacht harbor from our room. We love it!” Mar 22, 2009 by
Drew from Spencer,IA
“The hotel was nice. The facilities were well maintained. The kitchen had great food (the Ahi tuna sandwich is awesome.)” Mar 12, 2009 by
Vanna from Seattle,WA “We really enjoyed this hotel. Every room has a view of the ocean, and each room has amazing huge windows that open! The best part of the hotel was that although it was big, it didn't feel like your typical Disneyland Hawaii resort with throngs of kids, tourists, etc. The design of the hotel was excellent. Each room feels incredibly private (can't see others' windows, etc.) and couldn't hear a peep from neighboring rooms. Would highly recommend this place. Room was comfortable and beds/sheets were to die for!” Feb 26, 2009 by
Falconer from Edmonton,Canada
“Our room was very clean and well furnished. The bathroom sparkled! New toilet and sink, separate shower stall and tub. For us, cleanliness is the most important aspect of any hotel stay and the Hawaii Prince did not disappoint. The carpet was well worn, but what can you expect. A flat panel TV would have been nice. We had a spectacular view of the marina and its beautiful sunsets!” Feb 7, 2009 by
Viju from Chicago,IL
“A great place to stay!” Jan 21, 2009 by
Sarah from New Haven,CT
“The hotel is a great location, at the beginning of Waikiki beach. The lobby is great, and the spa, sundries shop, bar and coffee shop are very convenient. The view from the room was beautiful. My only complaints are that they charge daily for Internet use, and the furniture in the room is scuffed and old. But over all, I had a good experience.” Jan 11, 2009 by
Steve from Morristown,NJ
“Good consistant value here. We have stayed here 4 or 5 times in the last 4 years. Rooms a little tired but very clean and friendly. Solid 3 star hotel.” Sep 12, 2008 by
James from Palm Springs, CA
“This is a nice hotel with great service. The rooms could be great if not for the really beat up stained furniture and musty smell. All room have ocean views. The lobby though quite nice smells like stinky cooking that discourages one from trying the restaurant. I liked the hotel but it is a 3 star not a 4 star though it could be if they corrected a few things.” Sep 9, 2008 by
D. D. from Houston, TX
“We really like the slower pace and quieter environment of this location at the marina. Also easy walking distance to Ala Moana Shopping Center is nice as we live overseas. The staff is always helpful, friendly and professional. We hardly see the cleaning staff, but they keep the hotel super clean. Our only complaint is that the rooms need updating. They are not bad, just showing some wear.” Sep 6, 2008 by
Joe from Cockeysville, MD
“Beautiful hotel in a great location in Waikiki. Service is top notch and the rooms have great views, spacious bathrooms, and large windows. Decor was slightly outdated but this did not detract from the experience in a major way.” Sep 4, 2008 by
Ankur from San Jose, CA
“Decent hotel.” Aug 23, 2008 by
Mathew from San Francisco, CA
“The staff was very professional, welcoming and friendly. Every room has a wonderful view of the ocean. The rooms are reasonable sized with huge well appointed bathrooms. The furnishings are beginning to show their age, but the staff and views from each room were more than make-up for this.” Aug 18, 2008 by
Alice from Grand Junction, CO
“Comfortable, roomy, attentive staff. Beach, shopping, restaurant within walking distance Ala Moana area; convenient shuttle to Waikiki.” Aug 16, 2008 by
Bobby W. from American Canyon, CA
“Overall we liked this hotel. Views are second to none. Size of room was good. Furniture was definitely outdated; but, generally in fair condition. Room was clean. Hotel is quite. Location is excellent. Not too crowded as many locations on the island. Staff was very helpful. We'd definitely stay there again. Furniture should be replaced for sure. Staff should do a better job of handling emergency alarms even if false alarms. Staff never provided any information on the fire alarm. Could be dangerous.” Aug 1, 2008 by
Kp from Hackettstown, NJ
“Parking valet is 21.99 a day, self park is $15/day, The pool is nice but the pool at the Hilton village was fantastic. The view was excellent. The people/staff at the hotel was great, really the best I have seen in a while.” Jul 23, 2008 by
Bob from Jonesboro, AR
“The room was very large and our one night there was most pleasant. The view of the marina was beautiful. I'd like to spend more time there!” Jul 21, 2008 by
Tom Y. from Kihei, HI
“It was the highlight of our trip. The kids just wanted to go" home " to our rooms.” Jul 10, 2008 by
Dave from San Diego, CA
“It is one of the best in the Marina area and away from the Waikiki scene.” Jul 10, 2008 by
Andy from St Louis, MO
“Our first room in the N tower was slightly larger, although both were very nice. The bathrooms themselves were bigger than a normal sized hotel room, with shower, bath and separate room for the toilet off the bathroom. Floors and walls in marble. Every amenity, although an ancient stereo. The pool/Jacuzzi were very nice and the proximity to Waikiki was nice too. They have a shuttle to/from the golf course. Its across from the marina with beautiful yachts.” Jul 8, 2008 by
Cathy from Peachtree City, GA
“Enjoyed experience, view was outstanding and a short walk to Waikiki main beach area. Didn't receive bed turn down or breakfast voucher for 3 day or more stay. Parking rules changed on 3rd because of holiday, those already there should be exempt.” Jun 29, 2008 by
Alex from Vancouver, BC CA
“Overall, the Prince Hotel was nice. We spent our honeymoon there for 11 nights and were not completely satisfied with our experience. The Prince Hotel is by the harbor. It provides a detached generic experience and felt like you could have been at any fancy hotel anywhere. It is about a half hour walk to the center of Waikiki Beach or a $10 dollar cab ride. There is a shuttle that can take you to Waikiki but in hindsight, it would have been better to just stay in the Waikiki area to begin with. The customer service at the Sheraton was amazing and the atmosphere was friendly and lively. We only stayed 3 nights at the Sheraton but they treated us really special and even surprised us with wine and chocolate covered strawberries to help us celebrate our honeymoon. On the other hand, we stayed 11 nights at the Prince Hotel and not one person said congratulations or made any real effort to make our stay special. For us, customer service and location are the most important things and the Prince Hotel just was not the right fit for us.” Jun 9, 2008 by
Brenda from Courtice, ON CA
“The hotel, the room, view were all very nice. Service was okay at the front desk. We checked in about 10 pm after a very long flight and left about 8 am. This hotel was sort of like a 'layover' spot.” Jun 4, 2008 by
Sean from Seattle, WA
“Great hotel, awesome food and even better employees.”
