“The staff was superior to anywhere else we have stayed. The grounds and lobby were breath taking. The quality of this hotel was superb. I will recommend this hotel over and over to friends and family.” Aug 30, 2008 by

“This hotel is perfect for everyone. If you want the beach it is there, if you want a quiet pool-side retreat it is there, if you want a dynamic pool with slides and waterfalls it is there. The spa/fitness are world class. Restaurants are amazing! From the time you enter there is no need to leave the property if you do not wish to do so.” Jun 21, 2008 by

“The bed was wonderful! Very comfortable. Unfortunately, the fact that this hotel sits like a jewel in paradise cannot completely distract from the impression, that it and a few of it's staff, fall short of it's obviously former glory. One more thought : All of the staff need to treat everyone as if they are welcome and as if they are the only visitor. Being treated as a walking statistic does not make me want to return anytime soon.” Sep 13, 2007 by

“If you have high expectations for your Hawaiian vacation, the Grand Wailea will meet them! You are going to have to open your wallet. But just set a high budget ahead of time and don't torture yourself during your stay. This is the perfect place to rekindle a romance or add fuel to one that is already going!” Jul 26, 2007 by

“If it wasn't for the pool, this hotel would have much less of a draw. They can charge those prices because people want to experience the pool and that is the only way to play in it. The rest of the hotel is great - beautiful lobby and wonderful facilities, but it should not be the most expensive hotel I have ever stayed at.” Jun 18, 2007 by

“The hotel lost my reservation and it was a nightmare that lasted 3 days including them locking me out of my room on one occasion. You would speak to front desk supervisor or client services and be assured that the problem was resolved and the next day the whole process was repeated, like the movie ground hog day, not the customer service that I expected. They did the minimal amount required to correct their mistake and lacked the commitment to excellence that I would expect for this level establishment, they never provide me with common courtesies, such as calling me back to update me on the room situation or simply saying they were sorry. The physical plant and rooms are very nice but overall an unsatisfactory stay. They failed to live up to my expectations for common courtesy and professionalism. I would highly recommend the 4 seasons next door, as the place to stay in Wailea.” Jun 10, 2007 by

“Overall, The Grand Wailed is a true upscale experience. Kids of any age will love the pools. The pools are really a fantastic water park! Our room was extremely large and comfortable. The ocean view was the best we've ever had. Wailed is more secluded than Kannapolis, but there are good restaurants nearby at the Shops of Wailed.” May 24, 2007 by

“You pretty much are paying for the pool area here. This would be a great place for families who have children old enough to play all day at the pool to really get your money's worth. Our patio had weeds on the lawn and the lawn was not well groomed compared to the rest of the facility. The Grand Continental breakfast was not worth the $30 per person either. Lastly, when we called the transportation concierge to find out how we should take transportation to the airport for our very early morning flight, it would have been helpful to know that the airport didn't open until 5:30am and they suggested to us to get there by 4:30AM. So we got to sit at the airport and wait longer than we would have had to.” Mar 6, 2007 by

“You can't go wrong with grand wailed. Fun pool with slides and nice quiet ones for adults. Comfortable beds and large rooms. Fabulous food - all around great!” Dec 3, 2006 by

“Excellent hotel. Had a great stay! Excellent for family visit. My 3 yr old had a great time at the water park and slides. The hotel landscaping is gorgeous. The rooms are very spacious. The health club nice too. Location is great - along other luxury hotels in wailea and right on the beach. The rooms themselves were a little bit dated (paint, wallpaper etc). E.g. Coffee maker etc were poor quality. The staff was friendly but not extraordinary. I would highly recommend this hotel and will most stay here on my next visit to Maui. Everything is quite expensive here though. Double espresso at cafe Kula was $5! 4 slice bread pieces - $6. We ended up eating outside the hotel most of the time.” 3 of 3 people found this review helpful.Hotel Representatives:
