  • Great ocean views
and nice hot tub and outdoor gas grills.
  • The pool was small and cold.

“The Paki Maui is a nice small hotel with comfortable rooms and facilities. The staff is great. It has a phenominal ocean front location but the beach in front of the hotel is covered with a reef so swimming is difficult there. It is just north of Kanapali which has a much better beach. I had an oceanfront room. Overall, I have a good time at the Paki Maui.”

  • We could watch for whales from the hotel beach front location.
  • Charged $8/day for parking. Decor is dated and room was well worn.

“Hotel has a great beach front location in a ghetto of condo development. The property shows its age. The room was definitely stuck in the 80's. The pool is very small and in the shade most of the day.”

  • Condo was spacious enough, well kept and in a very nice location.
  • I didn't have a car, so I had to take taxis or a local bus which doesn't arrive frequently. Next time I shall hire a car.

“It was quite spacious - people were very friendly. Couldn't make overseas calls from phone - pity! A hairdryer would be a great addition.”

  • Easy access to the ocean.
  • Nothing.

“It was everything we wanted for our Hawaiian Holiday. We got the room that we requested. Beautiful oceanfront room on the ground floor, room # 102. Very basic, but what more do you need if you spend your time on the beach. Very easy beach access with two reefs to snorkel on. The reefs in front of the condo had a very big selection of reef fish and animals, even a sea turtle. The staff was great, friendly and always willing to help. We had a perfect holiday!”

  • Peaceful, romantic, beautiful sunsets, the garden view, makes you feel like your in a jungle.
  • They could use a better bed.

“At Paki Maui you forget you are away from home. The rooms are very spacious and clean. And the use of mirrors is perfect with out looking cheep very comfortable.”

  • The location is great.
  • The room was in a bit of disrepair.

“The location is close to the main beach with the expensive hotels. The staff was friendly and helpful. For us, it was fine as we don't spend much time in the room, or by the pool. If you want to have a beach or a nice pool, this wouldn't be it. Each room is individually owned and ours was okay, but needed some repairs. Also, no air conditioning, although they were nice enough to upgrade us to the ocean side, and we had the ceiling fans, with a breeze, so we were alright. Overall very decent, as you can pay 3 to 4 times this amount for the prime hotels. I would go again.”

  • The staff was always as accommodating as possible.
  • Very noisy, quiet hours started too early, no beach and pool area small.

“The location was great and within walking distance of various stores. The staff was great and very accommodating. The hotel features only a grassy area for lawn chairs and a very small pool. The quiet hours and pool hours were completely out to lunch. The pool closed at 9:30 at night and quiet hours 8:00 PM. This is a hotel not a retirement home. Our biggest complaint was the noise. The hotel is located right by a busy road and traffic noise was constant and annoying. Also, there seems to be a flock of birds that nest at the hotel that.”

  • The hotel was very affordable with a great staff, location and amenities. It was better than I expected. I loved falling asleep to the waves.
  • The only thing I would improve on would be to provide air conditioning. It got hot sometimes.

“I was extremely pleased! I loved the kitchen, the balcony, being able to sleep with the patio door open, listening to the waves and more. I was looking for a hotel that would be cheap but not dumpy and this suited all my needs. I would definitely come back and recommend this hotel to friends.”

  • Nicely located in Honokowai.
  • Noisy.

“Comfortable, clean unit on the ocean. Good whale watching. Nice garden area. But noisy: sprinklers go off at 2, 3, 4 in the morning. Parking area is noisy and close to rooms. Loud construction was going on each day at Maui Sands next door. Some office staff is helpful, but others are not. If you don't mind the noise, and helpful staff is not a major priority for you, then the Paki Maui is a nice little place in Honokowai.”
