• Fantastic staff, nice room for the money.

“Hotel was nice, budget style room. Right on the ocean, with great staff and close to amenities. Would be great for families as there is a cool reef on the oceanfront that protects children from the ocean waves. Would stay again!”

• Clean.
• Noisy and mismanaged.

“Beware of this resort. We were given a room with someone not checked out. Given another room over a golf course and noisy pool. They were putting on a new roof on the next building hammering and pounding and unbelievable noise from 6:30 to 5:00 p.m. Very noisy!”

• Good location on ocean, nice pools.
• Room was very outdated, poorly working appliances, bed rock-like.

• The room had an excellent, comfortable bed.
• Bathroom was small and outdated.

“Hotel was conveniently located near shopping and restaurants. No on site restaurant. Room was spacious with comfortable bed. Full kitchen. Although on the beach, beach was rocky and hotel grounds were separated by seawall. Beautiful grounds, good pool, very quiet.”

• The location right on the beach was fabulous!
• Nothing.

“This resort, though not as upscale as those around it, was comfortable, clean and the staff was great. I would definitely stay here again. My highlight was seeing whale¿s not too far off shore on my last morning there.”

• Right on Kannapolis beach.
• Uncomfortable bed.

“Great value for the price. A one hour beach walks from the very expensive Hyatt hotel where the conference was. I am sure we got the oldest unit. Still a great value with a kitchen. We saved hundred just cooking for ourselves.”

• Grounds were excellent. Easy access to hw and beach.
• No bathtub in room. We were on the first floor with our bedroom windows open for the breeze & voices from guesses walking by woke us up at 6 am.

• Great location right on the water. Easy access in and out. Close to restaurants and lots of other beaches. Lots of common space to hang out.
• Older hotel with some signs of wear and dating but nothing that bothered me or inconvenienced my family.

“The hotel staff made adjustments to accommodate my family. I expected to be facing the parking lot but was very surprised to be in a direct ocean front room. All the rooms are in very close proximity to the water and most all have some sort of ocean view. It is an older hotel/condo but who stays in their room all day anyway. The kids had a wonderful time. The staff was very friendly. It was a very good experience overall. A place I will always consider going back to.”

• (k301) the view from our room was wonderful. Staff was able to put our family in 1 building.
• Lower unit (k201) was not pleasant and in need of upgrading. No late checkouts.

“Depending on property owner units can be very pleasant or depressing. When ordering 2 or more rooms may be spread out throughout several units.”

• No on site food.

“ After learning which hotel we were going, we called and they helped to secure a room for that night as well. Staff both was very helpful both on the phone and the late desk staff when we check in around midnight. We received an upgrade and were very happy with our stay.”

• The kitchen was fully equipped and there was a washer/dryer.
• The mattress was awful and the neighbors were loud potheads.

• Nice kitchen view units, with washer and dryer.
• Needs zircon, in bedroom.

“Very beautiful hotel, with nice units. The pool and hot tub area are great, and the view is spectacular. Nice to have a washer and dryer in unit to catch up on some laundry while on vacation.”

• Washer and dryer in the room.
• No A/C in the bedroom.

“The hotel was average. The biggest issue that I had was that there was no a/c in the bedroom. There was a window unit in the living room. Also the tables in the room were glass tables. We were traveling with small children and the glass made us uncomfortable.”

• Easy parking, close to beaches.
• Fleas in one of our condo units.

“We booked two condos for our stay in Maui. The first condo was clean and modern. The other condo needs renovation (felt old, rusty, and dirty) and had fleas (we were all bitten). There is great variation in the conditions of each condo. Beware.”

• Very quiet and laid back.
• With resort in the name, we were led to believe it would have had pool service and restaurants.

“We were surprised at the type of hotel we were staying at. We did not realize the type of hotel it was. We thought there would be more activities and pool service with the name 'Resort' in the name. We did enjoy the stay after we adapted to the type of hotel. Very clean and professional employees.”

• The suite was clean and well-furnished, and we knew the location well facilitating easy travel to other locations.
• The charge of tax upon check-out.

“Papkea Resort is a group of privately owned condominiums managed by resort quest. The location is close to the good snorkeling spots on the western coats of Maui. It is convenient to shopping and restaurants, and is a quiet, private community.”

• Location, activities, staff was travel friendly.
• Room not configured for my needs as expected.
