• Easy location near transport yet quiet at night.
• The room was quite compact & during the day sounds of renovations to nearby rooms.

“The hotel was clean, the staff was all kind/ helpful & although the hotel was a little further up Nathan road, in Jordan, the plentiful choice of transport around the area made this unimportant. The hotel was also only a short walk from the Temple Street night market in Mong Kok which is always good for a bargain or two.”

• Room had all the amenities; expensive.
• Room size was small as it is in most hotels in Hong Kong.

“Eaton is fairly well located on the outskirts of TST. Lobby is small but elegant. Has a romantic outside eating area. There is a small pool and gym on the upper floor. Elevators are plentiful. Windows are sealed but can be opened on request. Overall, the Eaton is a good bet for travelers.”

“I read reviews that complained about the renovation process and front desk treatment at the hotel, so I was prepared. I emailed in advance to request a renovated room, and I was offered a single bed renovated room upon arrival. The rooms in the standard class are the size of a typical cabin on carnival cruise lines, so be prepared. I was pleased with the decor and the amenities. I felt that this represented a 4 star hotel in Hong Kong, since I have stayed at the Marco Polo and the royal plaza in the past. I ate breakfast at the cafe in the basement, which had a nicer seating area than the Starbucks in the adjacent Nathan hotel. I would stay here again as a solo traveler. Couples should try the royal plaza or the Langham in Mon Kok, both excellent hotels that are connected to shopping centers and are located in an area teaming with night life and people. Stay out of Tsim Sha Tsui if you want a more authentic Hong Kong experience because that is where all the trade show people stay and the malls are just like those in the US and Europe.”

“At the management level they need to be much more service oriented, friendlier and try to help a guest who is potentially in Hong Kong for the first time. They seemed to forget that they need to be helpful.”

• Convenient. The airport shuttle was a very good service to provide.
• I was disappointed when I walked In the room. It was not what I typically find at a 4-star hotel.

“Even though the room was small and the bathtub was very small, It was clean and had everything I needed. I can almost certainly say that I overpaid for the room.”

• The staff is very polite.
• The standard room is micro size - very small.

“This hotel is not on the list and was a completely bad surprise. All the hotels on the list were within walking distance from my destination while this one was a few miles away. In addition, the room was so small (I am not a large person and traveling solo) and uncomfortable (I don't know how two people can fit in their), I ended up paying US$ 80 extra per night, to upgrade it to one (an executive club something), still half the size of a conventional American 3star hotel room, which I could work in or at least not feel claustrophobic. In the upgraded room, everything was nice, services were good.”

• Facility, location, a 4 star, nice, clean, elegant, close to town.
• Room 3 star, not very clean, old, small.

“There wasn't a hotel directory book in my room and I was not informed of a charge for telephone calls. I was charged $115 for phone calls when I checked out the hotel. The cashier was very courteous and said that she would ask the manager to waive the charges. However, the manager would agree to charge 50% of the fee, but refuse to waive the entire amount.”

• Great location, right next to Nathan rd. And the temple St. Night market.
• The room was a little bigger than a broom closet!

“The room is small. I think they gave me the smallest room they can find in the hotel. The hotel is also undergoing renovations. The location is great and unbeatable.”

• We received an upgrade so the stay was even better than expected.
• The hotel is in the process of remodeling so there was some construction noise between 10 am and 5:30 pm.

“The Eaton Hotel is a nice hotel. We have stayed there once before and were happy to stay a second time. It is close to the metro and the night market. The hotel restaurant has good food. Overall we enjoyed our stays at the Eaton Hotel.”

• Reception desk was very helpful. The room size and facilities were very good, based on Hong Kong standard.
• Although location is very convenient in terms of buses and trains, it is at 20+ minutes walk from peninsula and water front.

“It's a nice hotel to stay. At a decent price, you are not very far from the water front, and the stops for the airport bus (a21) and train station are very near. The staff was very helpful. ”

“The room was small, but lovely and very comfortable for 1 person. Could easily accommodate up to 2 persons, but any more and you're asking for trouble - even if they are children. Highly recommend if traveling alone or as a couple.”

• Get location, nice lobby and cafe area.
• The room is small and not that comfortable. Could be cleaner! No fresh air, and the ac was way too cold for winter, and the window was sealed.

• The hotel is centrally located.
• The room was as small as a bathroom and could not get all of my luggage in the room.

“I was so unhappy with the size of the room. Two people with luggage were impossible to move around in. I had to get a third room and the hotel would not give me a good price even though I had two rooms already. They charged me full price for the third hotel room and the only reason I needed a third room was because the rooms were so small.”

• The hotel is under renovation. My room was right below the noise from 10am to 5pm! They were accommodating- was able to move me to a new room Awful!

“This hotel is small but with everything. They are remodeling on the 13th and 14th floor and they put me on the 12th floor. It was very noisy in the room from 8am to 7pm.”

“The Eaton Hotel is an excellent selection for business travelers. It is convenient to public transportation (MTR), has very helpful and courteous staff who are fluent in both English and Cantonese, and it is away from the crowded, touristy Tsim Sha Tsui area.”

• I liked the pool, Internet access at Aroma Cafe, the helpful staff, and the newspaper available for guests every morning.
• I did not like the musty smell of the rooms, the small rooms.

“I was very disappointed at Eaton Hotel in the beginning of my stay. I was assigned a room on the 12th floor. I did not feel like I was in a four star hotel at that time. I had first noticed the strong musty smell of the room that made me feel very uncomfortable. The windows were also very dirty, and the room was small. I felt like I was at a motel instead. I felt like it would be a dread to stay there for three days since a staff member told me that this is a good room on a high floor. I spoke to an assistant manager about my situation. I explained to him that I did not see any pictures that looked like the room I was staying in when I booked my stay on line Luckily, I was able to switch to a better room on the 18th floor. They have got to do something about the smell of the rooms because the second room also had the same smell. I had previously stayed at a three star hotel in Tsim Sha Tsui. Comparatively, I felt that the cleanliness, comfort level, and the overall environment of that hotel was better than Eaton.”

• Hotel concierge and valets were helpful with directions. They were nice to give us umbrellas when it was raining.
• A nonsmoking room that was requested had no windows. We had to change to a smoking room. Sheets and comforters are old and need to be changed.

“The hotel staff tried their hardest to make our stay comfortable. However it was not easy trying to get used to our room. The furnishing were old, the walls were stained yellow, and the bathrooms smelled like mildew. The lobby was nicely decorated however we do not sleep in lobbies but in rooms. The hotel really needs to renovate their hotel rooms. The distance from the nearest MTR station (subway) was not close as it was shown in the map.”

“The Eaton is a comfortable hotel, slightly more spacious than average with courteous, helpful and professional staff. Handy location for transport being just 5mins from Jordan M.T.R. Excellent breakfast and choice of eateries plus attractive rooftop pool with personal trainer available at the gym. I liked staying there.”

“This is a three star at best. The room is much smaller than any hotel I'd stayed before, with two double rooms at two walls and the fridge at the corner, there was not much room left for luggage and other things. The air conditioner was COLD enough to wake me up two or three times at two or three AM, despite that I set the temperature 25 C.”

• There is a really nice cafe with nice seating and internet in the lower level.
• The rooms are not that clean. Check bill upon checkout there could be extra charges you didn't incur. It happened to me and another lady.

“This is my second time staying at this hotel, the beds are comfy, the carpet dirty, the best showers I've come across. The location is pretty good, 5 minute walk from subway station which is one stop away from tsimshatsui. The lobby is nice and the breakfast buffet is good.”

• Room smaller than a closet, wall paper dirty. Beds simple.

“The room I initially received is either 1 star or no star. Room is small with 2 single beds with a walkway between the beds plus a space can even fit a large suitcase at the end of the beds. The wall paper was torn and dirty. TV is a 14 " located at the corner of the room since there is no space else where to put it.”

• Upgraded to deluxe room was very nice, proximity to Temple St. Night Market was great.
• Standard room was way below my expectations, felt like a bati-n-switch.

“The standard room offered to me was pathetic, small, out of date, no view, dreary. It definitely felt like a bait-n-switch experience which I did not appreciate. Continental breakfast was barely adequate.”

• Surrounding isn't nice, hotel room is very small.

• Great location. Easy to get around the city from the hotel.
• Very, very, very small rooms.

“Overall, not bad. The staff was great, but the facility left a lot to be desired. Our 4 star room was cramped and confined. The queen bed was actually a double. The bed took up the majority of the floor space, leaving only two small aisles to move. The breakfast buffet was good, but expensive. I would stay there again only if the price was better.”
