“I stayed at this hotel many years ago and quite liked it. Since then I don't think they have upgraded their rooms at all. The walls were marked and the carpet looked old and dirty. The bed was clean. The bathroom was like a 2 or 3 star hotel. Small with a shower curtain. My husband and I couldn't use it at the same time as there was not enough room for more than one person to stand.”

• Tiny rooms, not what you would expect for a 4 star hotel.

“The feel and service of a 4 star hotel until you open the door to your room. The rooms are extremely small and they are not all that nice. It is located close to the Subway which is nice. If I would have stayed here at a 3 star price with 3 star expectations I would have been much more satisfied.”

• Clean rooms, prime location next to Subway station, great buffet.
• Small size of rooms.

“Clean affordable hotel, next to Subway station, and a short taxi cab ride to Kowloon Station for the Airport Express Train. Great breakfast and lunch buffet at reasonable price. Staff was very attentive to forwarding me text messages, and making sure my room was stocked with fresh fruit and water. Hotel was centrally located to all major attractions and shopping in Tsim Sha Tsui, Kowloon. Only about 3 to 4 Subway stops to Central, Hong Kong. I will stay here again.”

• Friendly staff that took care of any request I had.
• Bed was a little hard.

“I enjoyed the Kowloon Hotel. I was upgraded to a harbor view upon arrival for a nominal fee which included free breakfast, internet, and happy hour. Entire hotel worked hard on my well being and I would stay at this hotel again if ever in Hong Kong.”

• Very close to everything.
• Very small rooms, but we were fine.

“This place was the best bang for my buck. Everything was close - shopping, train, ferry, etc. I had no complaints. The rooms were tiny, but we rarely spent time in the room anyway. Overall, good experience. The concierge staff was very friendly.”

• Location was okay. Close to train.
• The size of these rooms are a joke. Even in NY, Rome or Paris, I would not expect this.

• No gym or pool for exercise.

“Excellent location in Tsim Sha Tsui in the heart of everything and close to all. Rooms are small but clean and comfortable. Service was friendly and efficient. Overall, this is a great base of operations to enjoy Hong Kong.”

• The daily maid and attendant service was very warm and friendly.
• Access to hotel patrons by outsiders soliciting personal services seemed to be fairly easy.

“The room was smaller than expected but neat and clean in appearance. The maid service checked with us periodically throughout the day to see if anything needed changing. Access to many of the electronic controls for the room was adjacent to the bed so you didn't have to get up to turn off the lights.”

• Accommodations were too small, and not updated, view was terrible.

“The staff was very friendly. The lobby was attractive. The room was tiny, the view was terrible, and the bathroom was not updated. I cannot imagine this being 4 stars; its more like a 2 star.”

• Excellent location with very friendly and helpful staff.
• Room size.

“Excellent location next to peninsula hotel, which of course is even better located. Rooms are small but everything else was perfect. Staff was extremely helpful! They let us check in at 8am. If I would have been in US they would have charged me more for early check-in. Will definitely stay again in the same hotel.”

• Washroom appears not up to par as a 4-star hotel.

“Had to wait till next day to get a double bed room as I was arrived at 9:30 pm. Staff was friendly. Bedding mattress was too soft to a point of uncomfortable.”

• Awesome location, convenient to all public transit, safe.
• Room is very tight.

“The Kowloon Hotel is in a wonderful location in HK. Close to all transit and easy access to all tourist support system. Although small room, it has a interesting 90 degree angle floor to ceiling glass window which I like very much in terms of openness and brightness. I enjoy sitting there working on the desk morning and watch the early light.”

• Clean, professional staff and close to everything, super location in Kowloon.
• The room may be a little small, all you have is a nice bed, a TV, and comfortable bath room, not much to spare.

“Overall, it is a nice hotel, central located, very accessible to everything in the city with professional staff. The drawback would have to be the room is much smaller than most of other hotels that I stayed before in Kowloon.”

“I have stayed here many times in the past and very happy with everything. This trip it seemed like the hotel maybe under new management. The first night, the hotel was very full and so I had to sleep in a smoking room it was awful.”

• MTR station can be accessed from the hotel. very close to other hotels and one of the closest to the harbor.
• Rooms were just a bit small. Hyatt had American sized rooms.

“Lots of mirrors and glass. not a welcoming hotel. The staff was very professional and spoke excellent English.”

• The location at a reasonable rate for Hong Kong is the major attraction for this high standard hotel.
• The rooms are small.

“The Kowloon Hotel conforms to the professional standards expected of Hong Kong accommodation. Its location is handy to the harbor, shopping and vibrant life of Nathan Road. Room dimensions are small and there is no on premises pool. Buffet breakfast excellent but expensive. I found hotels in Jordan area just as good but less expensive so you are paying for location.”

• I asked for a Queen bed and was given twins. Unhappy about this because when I asked for queen bed, they confirmed, yes.

• absolutely perfect location for tourisism traveler
• small rooms will shock american travelers

“The Kowloon Hotel is the sister to the infamous Peninsula Hotel (located directly across the street) and is direcly (entrance from the hotel lobby) on the HK transit system (Both subway and commuter rail). The hotel takes a no nonsense approach to hospitality, and provides simple, clean, and effeicient accomidation for the traveler. The extremely small rooms sizes may come as a shock to North American travelers, however this is to be expected of such a Hotel in HK.”

“The hotel staff didn't asked me if I want to stay in smoker room and I end up in smoker room. The room are extremely small and my computer didn't work. Furniture are dated. Overall, my experience was very negative.”

• Excellent location. On the free shuttle route from the Airport Express. Computer in the room.
• Small rooms. Bad computer speed/connection. Strange Happy Hour rules.

“Givent the price I paid for it, I would definately use it again. The convenience factor is huge. The Tsim Sha Tsui MTR stop is right outside, it is a 3 block walk to the Star Ferry. The rooms are cramped, but we never spent much time in it. The service was prompt & helpful. The only issue I had was that it took way to long to resolve a mysterious charge on my room, so I had to let it go. It was only small, so not a big deal, but it could have been.”

• Not much attention towards customers' request

“Bad odor was found around the escalator area and it lasts more than a day despite couple complaints to the front desk and the management. Staff claimed the area has been sprayed with air freshener and it didn't help at all. The rug needed to be steam cleaned as the odor was obviously caused by urine. Huh!”

• the location is very convenient.
• the safety box is not saved, we lose the money.

“The room is so small, and the computer software version is too old. I don't they can meet the requirement of 4 stars hotels. They do not vacuum the room.”

“i did not like the lobby. Too cold and uninviting. the room was VERY small and uninviting. i was never told about restaurants, facilities, or any other helpful knowledge. would definitely NOT stay there again, despite the good location.”

“Kowloon Hotel is a business hotel in a great location. Rooms are much like a large closet. Good beds, below average bathroom, shower over shallow tub; good restaurant and nightclub on 2nd floor. No pool or gym. All in all, a satisfactory stay.”

“Very nice hotel. Location is great. Rooms are on the small side as is the bathroom. Staff were good. View wasn't so great but we were only there for the one night so it really didn't matter. All in all good value for the $60 US we paid.”

“My husband and I like the hotel and the staff. But the room is very tiny. (the smallest room we have ever stayed). Not enough room for 2 people to move. I don't know about the rest of the room in the property.”
