• The room was beautiful and the bed was heavenly.
• We arrived on Sunday afternoon and there was a skeleton crew on duty so we had to take care of our own luggage.

• Recently remodeled suite was beautiful. Everything from the fabrics to the carpet to the furniture and fixtures - just beautiful!

• They were involved in a rather extensive remodeling project. It was a bit noisy at times.

• The location and the decor were great.
• Our air conditioning was not working so the room was unbearably hot. We had to relocate at 2am.

“The hotel seems to be undergoing a lot of construction. The air conditioning in our room quit working a couple hours after check-in. We tried to adjust the thermostat and wait to see if that helped. Finally we had to call staff about the problem. They sent a security guard up to our room who told us he had fixed the problem. He had not, and at 2am, we had to pack up everything and relocate to a different room. We spent most of the night being hot and uncomfortable. We couldn't sleep because of the problem with the air conditioning and the last thing we wanted to do was packing everything up and moves to a different room at 2am. There was music playing downstairs that added to our frustration. It seemed as if a prom or party was going on. There was yelling, screaming, and loud music everywhere in the hotel.”

• Remodeling taking place. Charge to use wireless Internet.

“Great hotel with the absolute best bedding ever! Construction ongoing but once that is finished will be a great place to stay. Only negative was the high cost to use the wireless Internet service.”

• 2 words cookies and bathtub!
• There was construction going on and the middle interior or the hotel was covered in tarps.

“I give this hotel 2 thumbs up. It's the little things that matter to me. The cookies I hadn't gone to a hotel that did that, it was a very nice homey touch. The bathtub was amazing. I was expecting a standard tub with jets but the "soup bowl" as my friend called it was awesome! I have recommended the hotel to friends based on those factors alone. I am also a big fan of plush bedding. I thought the linens were very nice and comfortable. I will return.”

• Huge bathtub, jet stream Jacuzzi.
• Huge pothole scrapped bottom of my car in parking lot, sink drain wasn't working, fridge didn't work, and no computer access in lobby due to renovation.

“It was okay for the price I got it for, but should definitely fix the pothole in parking lot, I mean, it's pretty damn obvious. Renovations can't be helped but the sink plumbing should be worked on, replace fridge, and oh yeah, one of the lamps didn't even have a light bulb inside. Needs some work in the hotel?”

“Filthy Jacuzzi in room, tarp set up to try and prevent dust from coming into the rooms, hammering from 8 AM until 5 PM. Dirt carpet in room. Light bulbs were out in bathroom.”

• Needs to be updated.

“This hotel is centrally located. The room is spacious and the lobby is nice. However, upon closer inspection it is obvious that these rooms are older and need to be updated. They have already begun and the top two floors were being renovated when we were there at the end of 2007.”

• Atrium and large Christmas tree was very pretty.
• Rooms (furniture & bathroom) were warning out, we were also waked up by construction in an adjacent room. Guess they've started on the update.

“When I got to my room, I was disappointed that it was not a suite although the room was very nice. The hotel name (Doubletree Guest Suites) is very deceptive.”

• We had a great time; the staff was very accommodating and treated us great.
• They allowed dogs in peoples rooms.

“We had a great time. When we checked into our room we discovered the room across the hall had dogs in it barking loudly. It was after midnight at the time. We called the front desk; they came up to investigate and promptly moved us to another room and helped us carry our luggage and apologized. They said they would take care of the dog situation too once they find the people that belong in that room. They also gave us extra cookies. I would highly recommend this hotel.”

• The rooms are spacious and very comfortable; having all suites is very nice!
• Some rooms seem to need some updating but on the whole the room was fine.

“Located in a very convenient part of Lexington just off Harrodsburg with a short drive to downtown or Hamburg Shopping Center and just off New Circle Road which makes it convenient to Lexington Mall as well. Many nice restaurants nearby and just next door to posh spa! The bar is extremely nice and lends itself to groups gathering. We enjoy very much this hotel.”

• We needed a room with double beds.

“We were very pleased with the hotel. However, we needed two double beds instead of one king size bed. The room did have a couch bed. So we made it alright. Maybe you could add an option for the number of beds required and if a couch bed is an option or acceptable.”

• My room "fan" did not work; I mentioned it to two people, nothing. Not even Ill check on it.

• Very big room, 2 TVs, newspaper, good housekeeping, good front desk.
• Charges 9.95 a day for in room internet, I made a complaint and got it for free.

“Very nice rooms and public places. Restaurants overpriced as usual, when these hotels will learn to charge reasonable prices for the food and have a full house instead of an empty room. We need smarter food & beverage people. Todays customers will not pay rip-off prices.”

• The maids were friendly and helpful.
• I did not like having an inside room because the noise on Friday/Saturday was unbearable.

“The toilet leaked water, floor stayed wet. The tub faucet dripped constantly. I was given an inside room which face the lobby. The noise from the partying on Friday/Saturday night was so loud I was not able to go to sleep till after 2 am. Those two nights were quite unpleasant.”

• The view was of a parking area instead of the atrium.

• A lot of space.
• In the process of upgrading.

“The hotel was nice, however, it was in the process of changing hands (from Sheraton to Doubletree), and they needed to do upgrades to the rooms, carpeting needed to be replaced, walls needed to be painted, one interior doorknob kept falling off, etc. Once they've upgraded, I think this hotel will be really great.”

• This hotel was beautiful, the lobby was magnificent, the suites were perfect, and the Jacuzzi tubs were fabulous.
• The pool was closed for a few days.

• It was very close to where I needed to be the next day.
• The air vent blew right on me while I was sleeping, so I woke up with a sore throat.

• Hotel staff was very helpful and the room service was great!
• While the rooms are nice, the maintenance upkeep is sub-par in my professional opinion.

“I was awe-struck by the quality of this hotel. The hotel staff was very accommodating and housekeeping was very helpful. Every morning, I was greeted by smiles. The accommodations are sincerely like home away from home. You realize you're in a hotel when you stay here, but you can soon forget that by how comfortable the rooms make you feel. The location is very essential in my opinion. Driving in and around the city is extremely easy and traffic jams do not last long at all, even in peak hours. The hotel itself is within 1 mile's driving distance of at least 25+ restaurants, a grocery store, drug store, and car wash. As for attractions, just about everything you could dream of seeing is within an hour's drive. Bourbon and whiskey distilleries, wineries, horse farms, museums.”

• I was happy with the extra pillows on the bed and the comfortable mattress.
• The air conditioning was extremely noisy and did not cool as expected. Carpeting under the furniture needed vacuuming.

“The bed was very comfortable with several extra pillows. The room had a ceiling fan, an unusual touch, which was useful due to the poor performance of the room air conditioner which was also extremely noisy. The staff was competent and helpful. The location was convenient for us. Rooms appeared to have been relatively recently refurbished. Very few people appeared to take advantage of the on-site restaurant, perhaps because of the extremely high prices.”

• Sheets were very stiff.

“We were expecting the room to be a suite type room. We had a room with two queen beds but that is not what we saw on the internet. The sheets were uncomfortable but the pillows were fine. The overall appearance is nice but not what we expected for a 3.5 star hotel.”

• The location of the hotel was great for us. We have 2 boys in college at EKU and we spent the weekend with them at Keen land. It is so very comfortable.
• The parking was sometimes a problem. It was a busy weekend and we were out late and the parking spaces were all just about gone, congested area.

“The hotel is my favorite in the Lexington area. I come to Lexington very often with my family and with girlfriends twice a year. We always try to get this hotel. It has everything that we need, and we love the rooms. My husband and I just had a room. The girls and I have always had a suite. I love this place.”

• Parking could have been improved; minor maintenance door knob in b/room loose, phone in sitting room did not work.

“Over all a nice hotel, but for a Sheraton suite, but needed to take care of some maintenance issues. Surprised as a star wood customer couldn't get any points on card.”
