“The Holiday Inn in Lexington exceeded our expectations. It was our first stay at that location, and were impressed with the appearance, pleasant decor, and hotel room overall. The best part was the king-size Tempur-pedic mattress, which was fabulous - quite a treat! The restaurant the Post had very good dinners prime rib special was great and good breakfast menu. Service was very gracious. We would definitely stay here again - great value!” Oct 13, 2009 by
Sara from Clarksville,OH
“Adequate but not a 3 star hotel. Light bulb was burned out, phone was not plugged in, only shampoo and soap were available in the bathroom. No other toiletries.” Oct 2, 2009 by
Sarah from Snellville,GA
“We used this hotel as an overnight stop on a long car ride, and it exceeded all expectations. The beds were very comfortable, the room was clean, and the staff was very friendly. The pool area and arcade were better than any I've seen in higher rated hotels! We didn't have time to use the amenities, but I would love to go back for some R&R!” Sep 30, 2009 by
Roxanne from Caneyville,KY
“I think this would be a very nice hotel but since we were put in a smoking room the smell was bothersome to me.” Sep 29, 2009 by
Tammy from Campton,KY
“The front desk clerk stated they would send someone directly to the room to assist us. Nobody didn't show up after 20 minutes and one of the housekeepers in the hallway assisted me and my husband. Also the hotel smelled like mildew or mold.” Jul 13, 2009 by
Brandon from Barbourville,KY
“The facilities at this hotel are good. The swimming pool was fantastic. The arcade and half-court basketball were nice touches, as well. If you have smaller children you have some things for them to do. The restaurant looked to be nice but we did not dine there. There were some negative aspects of our stay, mostly concerning the room. One mattress smelled like sour milk. We were also disappointed that the room did not have a microwave or refrigerator. We had just eaten and had plenty of leftovers to snack on later, but we had nowhere to put them.” Jun 2, 2009 by
Greg from Reston,VA
“A superior hotel from all perspectives. Staff was great, location was convenient, facilities were upscale. No complaints, lots of kudos.” May 13, 2009 by
Dennis from Pittsburgh,PA
“Small bathrooms with straight shower rods limiting space in the shower. Dingy halls and rooms are not adjacent to the lobby. Smallish TVs.” Apr 25, 2009 by
Eric from Greenwood,IN
“Needs some painting on the outside. Staff was great as well as the facilities.” Apr 21, 2009 by
Ron from Ballwin,MO
“Great hotel for the price.” Apr 20, 2009 by

“We stayed here for just one night on our way to the smokies. It was clean and the staff was quick and courteous. Just what we were looking for.” Feb 19, 2009 by
Tim from Beech Grove,IN “The staff is slow and not friendly, and this last stay the first room I had was not cleaned. I had to wait in line for over 25 minutes to check in while several staff came from the back but offered to help no one. If you are looking for a clean and friendly hotel this in not a place for you.” Feb 14, 2009 by
Heather from Science Hill,KY
“There was construction early in the am (6am) next door and pets in the next room that barked. They also did not inform us there would be construction starting early. We would not stay at this hotel again!” Feb 4, 2009 by
Fedwa from Elizabethtown,KY
“The hotel was very worse than a motel, no microwave or refrigerator in the room, the door to the room was broke, the bed was dirty. There was no free breakfast!” Jan 28, 2009 by
Earl from Springboro,OH
“Large property with rooms spread out over several wings. Well-appointed rooms with new mattresses. Well maintained, considering the age of the hotel.” Dec 3, 2008 by
Bob from Kalamazoo,MI
“Overall a good stay but the shower did not meet expectations and when sitting at the desk to work the A/C--heater blew directly on me.” Nov 25, 2008 by
Jennifer from Kennesaw,GA
“About what you'd expect from a Holiday Inn, but with some of the best customer service I've seen in awhile. The check-in was super fast and friendly. The bed was incredibly comfortable. Great place for a great night's sleep.” Nov 13, 2008 by
Kevin from Hindman,KY
“I would not recommend this hotel.

“The Holiday Inn Lexington North is full of southern charm. The lobby is beautiful. The rooms were spacious and clean. Loved the refrigerator in the room. Definitely would return.

“The location is good. It is right beside the I75 highway. The staff is friendly, the room is clean. However the bath towel stinks, even though it looks like clean

“There is nothing objectionable about the hotel. The rooms and decor a dated and the parking lot lighting is poor at night which made me feel slightly uncomfortable as I walked to the designated hotel entrace door nearest to my room. The lobby was pleasant and the staff was friendly. I did not eat breakfast, but am usually a fan of the holiday inn cinammon roles.” Sep 16, 2008 by

“Very comfortable, easy to locate and very friendly service. Highly recommend.

Robert from Washington, DC
“I don't want to go back to hotel. It was uncomfortable and had a hard time sleeping.” Sep 8, 2008 by
Terry from Mundelein, IL
“Outside of hotel looks nice then the rooms inside. My room seemed very old and not maintained very well, with the exception of the bed which seem to have been updated. The sink vanity and mirror right in front of the bed was a turnoff, especially since it was in such bad shape. The bug I found in the sink was not a welcomed guest. Although the TV was just so so, there were many cable channels to select from.” Sep 7, 2008 by
Jinwoo from Oak Park, IL
“Hotel stunk. That's it. It stinks, smells so bad so that all your happiness melts away.” Sep 7, 2008 by
Jeff from Douglasville, GA
“Very friendly staff. Convenient location, but hotel facilities a little on the worn, dated side. Had to walk a long way to other side of hotel to find a working ice machine. This hotel definitely doesn't deserve a 3-star rating.” Sep 3, 2008 by
Tina from Lexington, KY
“Great for a stay during the Labor day week-end. As much as you want to do (or not do).” Sep 2, 2008 by
Kathy from Clover, SC
“Friendly staff and good location if you're going to the Kentucky Horse Park. It looks like a 3 star hotel when you drive up. The room was no better than motel 6 or super 8. Pets were allowed and there was barking down the hall. Room was clean.” Sep 2, 2008 by
Dave from Lewis Center, OH
“Definitely not a 3-star hotel. Possibly a two but it was old and dated.” Aug 20, 2008 by
Bill from Gainesville, FL
“I got my moneys worth. Nice motel next to the golf course. Convenient for my business purpose. Would stay here again.” Aug 6, 2008 by
David from Wadsworth, OH
“This hotel has diminished in appearance. It typically does not meet the Holiday Inn standards of today.” Jul 30, 2008 by
Carolyn from Pikeville, KY
“Good hotel for the price.” Jul 28, 2008 by
William C. from Sedona, AZ
“Too much money for value received. Probably will not use again.” Jul 28, 2008 by
Erica from Charlotte, NC
“The staff was very nice. It is an older hotel but the rooms had been updated. The pool, indoor basketball court and video game area was huge and the kids enjoyed it very much. There was a terrible rainstorm during our stay and the hallways adjacent to the lobby were flooded. The staff was working hard to get the water up.” Jul 26, 2008 by
Jenny from Newton, KS
“The hotel was very clean and spacious. The rooms were nice with adequate space. It was conveniently located so was easy to get to. The favorite aspect was the Holidome, which had a huge pool for the kids, as well as an indoor half-court basketball court and arcade games. It was a nice play area for young kids if you spent much time in the motel. We had to do a lot of walking to get from our room to the Holidome, but it was worth it.” Jul 19, 2008 by
Adrianne from Livonia, MI
“Great facility, especially for families because of the activities in the dome. I would recommend the restaurant. I had an excellent dinner and breakfast there. My room had everything a traveler might need.” Jul 17, 2008 by
Billy from Pikeville, KY
“This is a very nice older Holiday Inn. It oozes with character and class. Overall design represents the bluegrass. Service was great! The staff attempted to rectify any request. The only problems I ran into were my room reeked of mold. The AC unit must have had a ton of mold in it. It was almost unbearable. The staff worked on it and it was ok for a while and then back to stinky mold. Other than that the rooms need updated. Carpet was old and had several stains. The business center could use a fax and better hours. Also security is nonexistent lots of seedy goings on at certain places of the hotel at night. Also there is only like three ice machines for the entire 300+ room complex. The best part of the hotel was the Holidome. These facilities are the best I have encountered yet the hours are limited. It seems they should tout such a competitive advantage and have it open 24hrs. Like some other hotels I have stayed at. This place has some good bones they just need to work on some things and maybe have better hours for the facilities (lounge, restaurant).” Jul 17, 2008 by
Crystal from Sugar Land, TX
“Overall, it was alright and did its purpose. I stayed on the second floor and was kind of confused on the layout. It's very awkward and doesn't have an elevator. Oh, and the hotel is very dated and in need of some improvements. And seemed kind of shabby for a three star hotel. Especially when the three star Marriot Griffin Gate was almost in walking distance and made the Holiday Inn North I was staying in very unappealing.” Jul 15, 2008 by
Christian from Windsor, CO
“Very nice. Clean and comfortable with large flat screen TV. Internet access available for $13 a night!” Jul 15, 2008 by
Robert from Wilson, NC
“The hotel was a perfect intermediate stop on a long road trip. Easy to find, comfortable and affordable.” Jul 15, 2008 by
Stephanie from Lehigh Acres, FL
“Our kids had lots of fun in the dome with the heated pool, spa, basketball court, video games and shuffle board. However, the rest of the hotel left us adults unhappy and uncomfortable. This hotel should not be anything above a two star. The beds are rock hard, the room smelled like mildew, the carpet was filthy, everything was old. This hotel needs a major renovation to return it to its prior three start status.” Jun 29, 2008 by
Thepogue from Hayes, VA
“Great place to stay. Would go there again.” Jun 28, 2008 by
Sarah from Covington, OH
“Check-in was quick, room was clean, bed was comfortable, easy access to outside, the restaurant was nice and food was good. We would definitely stay there again.” Jun 27, 2008 by
Beth from Mauldin, SC
“The Holiday Inn was clean, friendly, attractive, quiet, and filled with wholesome recreational activities for children--a family-friendly environment which I'd recommend.” Jun 6, 2008 by
Marc from Goldendale, WA
“Nice, comfortable rooms for business or leisure. The "Dome" with a pool, hot tub, sauna, basketball court, shuffle board, arcade, etc was a pleasant surprise. The conference room with use of the computers was extremely helpful to conduct business. The staff was absolutely amazing! We cannot say enough about the staff! The location is easy on and off the highway and is located to great dining, golf, fuel and local attractions.” Jun 5, 2008 by
Vernon from Murphysboro, IL
“Overall, an excellent selection and we would choose again.” May 31, 2008 by
Scott from Perry, MI
“A 3-star Holiday Inn should be a very nice hotel. This hotel was more on the line of a Comfort Inn minus the free breakfast. The staff was friendly and the exterior and lobby of the building were attractive, but everything else was in need of major updating and renovation. The hallway and the rooms smelled and were dated. The pool/rec area had a lot of amenities which my kids enjoyed like an indoor basketball court, large arcade, large pool and hot tub area and decent workout facilities. However everything was dated and worn. For instance the sauna didn't was missing the door handle. This wasn't the worst hotel I've ever stayed in and the kids had a good time, but it wasn't in the same universe as similarly rated hotels in the same area.” May 28, 2008 by
Sharon from Maryville, TN
“The hotel had a great location and a great pool. Overall though, it was generally not well maintained, did not have the typical shampoo/conditioner/body lotion offerings. Coffee Pot did not work in room.” May 27, 2008 by
Christy from Bluffton, SC
“Location was convenient. Hotel is older and in need of refreshing. The carpet in our room was dirty and the bedspreads old. The bathroom had mold in the corners and behind the toilet. The only positive thing was the indoor pool and workout room. We won't be staying there again.” May 27, 2008 by
Andy from Wilmington, DE
“The place does not live up to its rating. Smells like smoke and there was stain on the sheets.”
