• The rooms were old but updated beautifully. Loved the pool and hot tub.
• We arrived in a snow storm did not want to spend a lot for dinner, but had to get in the car and drive to an Applebees; lighter fare, great price.

“It is an older hotel, but updated. The rooms are small, but very comfortable. The coffee maker is awkward by the TV. Overall, a very beautiful hotel. We would love to stay there again on our next trip to Lexington.”

• I liked the exercise room and pool. It was convenient and beautiful.
• Our bathroom was very small. You could barely get in and shut the door.

“This is a very attractive resort that makes the traveler feel extra special. The lobby and facilities are extremely nice, as well as, our room. I was not able to use the Spa, but I would have loved to use it. Very, very nice.”

• I loved the indoor pool for my kids and the work out room for me. I could watch them through the window while I worked out!
• The bathroom was a little smaller that most. Hard to move around in it.

“It is a wonderful hotel. We have stayed there before and loved it then. I love the look and the decor of the place. We will definitely go again!”

• Marriotts are always nice. The Tempurpedic bed with the clean white linens was very comfortable. The pool area is clean, warm and spacious.
• Because I didn't put a do not disturb sign out and ignored housekeeping when they came, security was sent and nearly busted down the locked door.

“Great hotel. Great restaurant. It was in keeping with Marriott. The hotel is clean and the lobby and common areas are very nice. New furnishings bring the hotel above many others. My only complaint was that I went to rest and when I didn't answer housekeeping because I did not need them, security was sent. They opened my door which was locked from the inside but kept trying to open it by jostling or shaking the door forcefully. I was in bed and began franticly calling the front desk for help only to find they thought they were helping me somehow. After talking to the front desk they said they were just assuring my safety. It was an intrusion and not appreciated at all.”

• Great Staff! They made us feel special - almost like we were the only ones staying there!

“We will stay here again. We are in the process of moving from Ashland, KY to Newport Beach, CA and needed a few days to get away before all the commotion. I had been wanting to stay here and I it was better than I expected. The entire place was immaculate. We were treated like we were the only ones staying at the hotel by the staff. It was quiet and very enjoyable.”

• Beautiful hotel, really a resort, super food, very friendly helpful staff.
• There was not a thing that wasn't excellent.

“Great value for the money. I would give this resort a 4 star rating. They have everything, even a spa! The room was spacious, extremely tasteful, clean and very comfortable. The lobby and all the facilities are lovely!”

• Convenience, price, location.
• Dirty bathroom hair on the floor and in the bathtub (not mine)!

“This Marriott is usually a very nice place to stay, but I was a little disappointed in the (lack of) cleanliness in the bathroom. That's about the only complaint I have other than Christmas "partiers" running up and down the hallway in the wee hours of the morning talking very loudly and knocking on doors. The hotel cannot help it when people act like that. Just wish we'd have been put on another floor. Unless, of course, they all were housing "partying people.”

• 1 maid service person- not very pleasant, sheet had stain that shouldnt have been used regardless that it was washed.

• The atmosphere was relaxed and friendly. The accommodations were 3 star plus.
• Sometimes I like to stay downtown.

“With a wonderful golf course, restaurant, and bar, this hotel accommodates the leisure or business traveler. Also, the free airport shuttle makes this location an excellent choice for the traveler who plans to utilize the Bluegrass Airport. So, whether spending the night out of town for fun, or staying for a business event, Marriott Lexington Griffin Gate is a wonderful choice.”

• Beds and linens were wonderful. Like falling into a cloud.
• Inattentive wait staff in restaurant and quality of food was not commiserating with prices.

“The atmosphere bespoke welcome, immediately upon entering, subtly announcing that this was horse country. The room was tastefully decorated and the bed was like heaven.”

• I liked the convenience to the freeway. The rooms were quiet, beds were very comfortable. The kids like the weight room and pool.
• Only 1 restaurant & it was pricey. Not good if you have small children. I saw a lot of empty pizza box's outside the room doors.

“The hotel was wonderful. I imagine it would be a great place to stay if you are there for the horses, as it had a horse decor. It also had carrots in a basket for the taking as you were leaving the hotel. Nice touch. Every one was very friendly and welcoming. I felt like we won the lottery - especially for the small amount we paid to stay there.”

• Would be a plus, if there were more nightlife in walking distance.

• It was very nice.
• I ask for complete privacy, no one was to be told that I was there. They told people calling I was there and rang them my room.

“The hotel is normally a super nice and enjoyable place to stay but since they gave my information out to the people that I didn't want to know that I was there, I couldn't enjoy my weekend for the phone calls coming into my room.”

• Internet price is very expensive, should be free or reduced price.

“Hotel was great. Staff was very accommodating. I checked in late afternoon with king size bed. My son was injured that afternoon in a baseball game and was allowed to change rooms. Once again the only drawback was High Speed Internet. The $12.95 per 24 hour. Is too high when most other hotels offer it free.”

• The entrance into the hotel is beautiful with landscaping and flowers.
• Our balcony was dirty. The breakfast buffet was too expensive.

“The price we got it for was wonderful. They were in the middle of remodeling the entry. The next time we go we will probably play golf. It was a good experience.”
