“Great hotel, close to the highway without being too noisy. Seems like a place were people go for romantic get aways but was also very kid friendly. We had a great stay.”

• The grounds and exterior looked beautiful.
• Although our room was non-smoking, the smell was still there and looked dated.

“Location had good access into town, the grounds and surrounding area were beautiful. The exterior of the hotel looked great. The interior of the hotel and rooms looked dated and could do with some freshening up. The spa looked lovely although we didn't have time to appreciate that.”

• The bed felt great. Both my wife and I remarked how comfortable the bed was.
• Only complaint was that the commode would stick and the water kept running. You would have to work with the handle to get the commode to stop.

“Overall a great experience. Only minor thing is the commode needs a little adjustment to keep the water from continually running.”

• Great location, great rooms, great bedding

“The Marriott Griffin Gate was a wonderful resort with golf, spa, pool, dining, a bar, and shops. Many rooms have balconies and you can dine outdoors overlooking the golf course. Bedding was fine quality and so comfortable.”

• Check-in was not easy. Desk representative had to do lots of typing to find my name in the system.

I arrived late and departed early the following morning. My experience was good. However,
I did not check email because the service was not free.
I chose to not pay the fee because of the business expense.”

“Great location on beautiful golf course, balconies overlook course, large rooms, luxury bedding, privacy, pools, spa, restaurant, bar. Friendly, helpful staff is very accommodating. Prefer to stay here on every stay to this area!”

• Great atmosphere, people are friendly, good golf course.
• Rooms were small.

“Everything about the hotel was great. The restaurant/lounge was excellent. They offer a wide selection of bourbon. The pool/golf course was also great. The only complaint would be the small size of the rooms. I would recommend this hotel to anyone.”

“Had room service for dinner and placed tray outside the door soon after I finished. Tray was still there at 8:00 am after at least 3 staff members must have seen it. 1 person who deliverd my bill around 5:30am another who delivered the USA today around 6:30am and yet another who delivered my breakfast around 7:00am. Bathroom was small and the room furniture needs updating.”

• Internet did not work.

“Everything was fine except the internet did not work at all. Weak attempts were made by staff to remedy but they were not successful. I had to go to Panera Bread to access the internet. Other than that issue we enjoyed the stay.”

• Comfortable from the entry to the spacious lobby area to the rooms. Beautiful grounds surrounding. Even dog treats at the door for your pooch.

• I didnt find anything wrong.

“The room was very nice! The beds were comfy with a nice big TV in the room. We didn’t have time to take advantage of the indoor pool but it looked tempting. Did have a drink at the bar which was nice. The inside of the hotel was nicely designed as well. I would recommend this to anyone in the Lexington area.”

“Housekeeping/maintenance are very slow to respond to requests. We waited close to an hour for a TV remote since ours was inoperable. For a hotel of this quality - that should not occur.”

• Accommodated us with 3 very young kids (all under 4).
• Room smelled musty.

“We would gladly choose this hotel again. Staff went above and beyond for my children even gave horse stickers to welcome them! My kids cried when we left. Staff gave them dog treats to take home to our puppy to help us on our way.”

• Hotel allows dogs. Woke to dog barking in room. Continued till we called the front desk who responded within 15 minutes.

“If you have allergies, stay away from this hotel. Dogs are everywhere, including a basket of bones (and carrots for horses) at the front entrance. They should house all dogs in one area of hotel in specific rooms. I would not stay here again.”

• Ice machine was very hard to find and no garbage cans at the elevators! People were playing basketball until after 2 am.

“Wonderful hotel, excellent staff. Would and will stay there again. The rooms are luxurious, with duvets and plenty of pillows. Beds are so comfortable and bathroom is roomy and decorated very nicely. Nice pool area and beautiful grounds.”

• I would be great if they had more than one self laundry facility onsite. The one they have is only on the 2nd floor and was always being used.

• Easy access from I-75, nice pools, pretty grounds, very comfortable beds.
• Service slow.

“We have stayed here before and it is a great hotel, however this time they did not have a double room, only a king but offered to send up a rollaway bed which I immediately agreed to. After four further requests from me I finally got my rollaway bed at 10:30 p.m. after checking in at 7 p.m. with 3 small children. I know they were busy but it seemed ridiculous that I had to make a call every 45 min. to get what they offered me when I checked in. Despite this I would stay again just call in any special requests in advance.”

• Was not able to obtain wireless connection to internet in my room.

• Beautiful indoor and outdoor pool, nice big rooms, nice bedding.
• Non-smoking room smelled like smoke. Switched rooms. Still smelled. Musty, too. No Disney!

“The hotel was beautiful, room was lovely. Lots of space, nice bedding and soaps. They were out of ice tea and ice water from 3 PM on. Did get some the next morning. It was hot - just teased us to see it sitting there empty. Did get a free bourbon taster in the evening. Both rooms we tried smelled smoky on the 5th floor. The second one was better and I didn't want to complain again so we dealt with it. Had it not been for that, the stay would have been just about perfect. There is no Disney TV here, we had to pay $9 to watch a Disney show. So kids were bored when not in pool. Nice pool, however, nice hot tub, too. Free tennis courts with free equipment.”

• Our experience needed nothing.

“We were late arrivals met by probably the best front desk service we have ever experienced. The restaurant was still open but only for a short time longer, the server insisted that we take a seat anyway. We followed the dinner recommendations of our server and experienced excellent service and food. An overall wonderful and relaxing experience. I had been to this facility before for conferences but had never spent the evening there but will definitely will be back. Thank you for a wonderful evening!”
