• Very unfriendly staff, didn't offer much assistance or help even when asked for.

“I would try and inform the staff to treat guests more as guests. They made us feel uncomfortable, as if we were an inconvenience to them. Not very family friendly; I'd say this was more of a business travelers place to stay.”

• Location, Riverfront view, Well maintained rooms, lobby and elevators and corridors.
• Poor paid parking. Extremely hot parking tunnel in summer. Big contrast to hotel comfort. Creaked glass window of Room 1803.

“Hotel stay was very comfortable. Location and view on the side facing Detroit skyline are excellent. Staff in general was helpful and polite. Rooms are very clean, well kept and comfortable. (Though, the window was cracked on the corner side and another portion was not clean from outside and was not clear to look at the outside view). However back side of hotel provides a big contrast. Though glass and steel tunnel (bridge) to parking looks similar to an enclosed approach to parked airplane in an airport it is not insulated from heat and cold. It was grilling hot when passing through this over bridge. Parking property stairs also need a face lift and a contemporary feel. Parking is being charge extra by hotel. Backside of hotel near parking also need some landscaping, flowers, plants and cleaning to make it look cheerful and vibrant as almost all customers use this area for parking. It can be imaginatively improved and provide a clean and aesthetic look by developing properly and covering all area to link seamlessly to the Bus terminal in the back side which has a better look.”

• Wife asked for room with view. Room had bad view and an air conditioner that was very loud.

“The Hilton Hotel is my favorite hotel in Windsor. When we arrived my wife asked the clerk for a room with a nice view. The clerk said we would have a view of the river and assigned room. When we entered the room the view was of air handlers on the roof, the walls of another hotel and a fairly obstructed view of the river. The room also had a very noisy air conditioner unit. It whined very loudly constantly. On the plus side, the room was very clean and the bed very firm and comfortable. The hotel staff also allowed us a late check out (2:00 PM) which made up for the obstructed view and the whining AC unit.”

• Would have liked free internet access in the business center, but most Hiltons don't have that.

“Hotel was nice. Friendly staff. Allowed us to check in 3 hours early. View was awesome. Over looking the Detroit river. Was able to see Downtown Detroit and the Ambassador Bridge that connects Detroit and Windsor. Room was nice and spacious. Some parts of the wall were a little dirty. Thought it might have been a couple of boogers but didn't get to close to confirm. Other than that, my only other complaint was that I had to pay for parking. I would stay there again and recommend staying there to friends and family.”

“I was so pleasantly surprised at the location and quality of the hotel. The people in the hotel were very friendly and the view was beautiful. We asked to change from 2 full to a king bed and they were very accommodating. The valet was so helpful in informing us on attractions and restaurants. I'd gladly recommend this hotel.”

• Clean and comfortable. Even with partial Riverview, the scenery from the room is stunning. A nice stay indeed.
• Have to pay for parking. The garage is old and leaky.

• The front desk clerk put us in a smoking room when we asked for none, and then the valet girl found us another room.

“I was traveling with a friend. I liked the hotel, but when we checked in the front desk clerk said he had 1 room in smoking with 2 beds or 1 room non smoking with one bed. We dont smoke and Im pregnant so we said we wanted the non smoking room with one bed. He put us in a smoking room with one bed.”

• The restaurant and Saturday night club goers.

“The hotel is somewhat outdated, still nice but could definitely use some upgrading. The rooms are of a decent size and all have at least a partial Riverview. The main problem is that my wife and I were there for a quiet weekend away and by 5 p.m. on a Saturday afternoon our floor was overrun by a rowdy group who were shouting throughout the hallways and opening and closing their door non-stop. This noise was constant over the next couple of hours. From reviews I've read, this is a common problem. Not surprising for Windsor which as a border town gets a lot of Americans coming over on the weekends due to Canada's lower drinking age. We finally got fed up and asked the manager to move us to a different floor and he cheerfully granted our request with no hesitation - a big plus for the hotel! We ate in the hotel's restaurant "The Park Terrace" which was a little bit stuffy of an atmosphere. The food was decent...but much overpriced considering the fact that it was decent...not good or great. I had steak and my wife had a garlic chicken both at about $30 per entree. It tasted like average wedding food, and would have appropriately priced at half the amount they charged for it. The server was excellent; however we were also his only table on a very quiet Saturday night. All in all a decent hotel if you're not looking for fireworks.”

“It was a clean nice looking hotel but had a lot of kids in it the night we were there. The one thing I didn¿t like was it had no form of valet parking, nor did it have anywhere to park. I had to go to a parking garage that was 2 blocks away from the hotel (this was the hotel parking) then got charges $15 to park there for less than 12 hours. ”
