- Very modern decor, excellent location, superior staff.
- Nothing.
“This hotel is in an excellent location. The hotel has undergone a $20 million renovation. The room decor is beautiful, very modern. We had a 25th floor view room with wall to wall, ceiling to floor windows. It was so fantastic, that we bought dessert and coffee and brought it to enjoy the view from our room. Front desk staff were excellent and greeted us by name.”

- The location and the staff were great.
- I can't think of anything at all.
“The hotel was well located and had great rooms. As a Priceline customer, I did send an email to the hotel requesting a king bed nonsmoking. We were celebrating our anniversary. When we checked in we were upgraded to an upper floor facing the harbor. We got to see our ship come in. Best of all there was a fabulous corner balcony overlooking the city at night- stunning!”

“This was a great hotel. From the moment we arrived everything seemed to be taken care of. Our rooms were great and the views from the big windows were excellent. It was close walking distance to shops in downtown Vancouver.”

- Upgraded to suite on 1st night - outstanding room. Second night room still above minimum standard (balcony/king bed)
- We would have liked a free shuttle to the pier which was very close.
“Everything about this hotel was perfect. We arrived very late and were upgraded to a fantastic suite. Although we had to move for the second night, we still got an above average room with a balcony, and the move was painless. In view of the low rate we were paying, we were treated extremely well. The staff was efficient and very friendly.”

“Hotel was just terrific. Clean modern room, great location in heart of city. The hotel is a Hyatt and is very clean, modern,and upscale. Staff is very friendly. Perfect for business people but as a vacationer I felt very much at home there. Only thing I wasn't thrilled with was that the pool was on the rooftop and small. Other than that the hotel was perfect.”

- Convenient to center of all activity. Staff was extremely helpful with need to store luggage while on an overnight trip to Whisler.

“The Hyatt was an outstanding choice for our trip. The location was especially positive. Although we had a rental car, we were able to walk to outstanding restaurants and the harbour area with little effort. I highly recommend the Hyatt.”

- Our room was given away and we slept on a sofa bed!
“The hotel was beautiful, but despite paying for our room in advance via priceline it was re-booked with someone else. We were forced to spend the night on a sofa bed! We were told we'd be upgraded the 2nd night, but ended up in a standard room.”

“we arrived after midnight and was told we were being upgraded. we were sent to 33rd floor, then realized we were not given room #. Back to desk, was told room #, went back up only to find that room was being renovated. Back to desk, - was given new room assignment on 29th floor.everyone was very nice, but we were tired after long trip and had hoped that they would be more organized! Room and setting were wonderful after that! and they agreed to give us free internet to make up for the inconvenience =)”

“We enjoyed this hotel. I believe it was rated a 5 star as it is a hyatt regency. I would disagree w/the rating. The room was clean and well cared for; certainly not luxurious. The gym was nice; we did not use the pool or jacuzzi but it was small for how large the hotel is. The staff was nice but not wonderfully helpful. We would stay here again but we would tone down our expectations.”

“Great central location, rooms have been stylishly upgraded. Staff was very helpful and friendly. Self-serve check in is a bit impersonal but this hotel handles a lot of cruise ship passengers so it would help clear a large group quickly. I would highly recommend this hotel and would go back gladly. Only negative is the expensive parking.”

- No checked in when we went early in the day and check in with baggage, had to wait 1 hour for room and bags to be found.
“This hotel was un-organized. We were staying there for our wedding night. We got our sister in law to drop our luggage and check us in at 2 pm. When we arrived, they gave us a room key and it didn’t work, back down to the lobby in my wedding gown. Now they say we weren’t checked in, no reservations for us, then they gave us a room, told us they didn’t have our bags, up to the 15th floor. Room key doesn’t work. My husband goes back down, the manager comes up with us, and the room keys still doesn’t work. He let us in with the master key. In the morning we went for a swim and it was closed for window washer that was coming around 4 pm (we were there at 11 am). It was a nightmare and very disappointing especially since it was our wedding night.”

- Clean, bright, comfortable, good food.
- My room was not ready, nor was my associate's.
“It should be noted that this was the Hyatt not the Regency. I arrived at about 8:30 pm local time (11:30 my time) and the room was not ready. I was given a complimentary meal (which was nice) but I was then charged for it. I'm following that up. My associate arrived the next night at about midnight and he was given a pull out cot and a breakfast voucher. I was told the hotel had overbooked.”

- Loved the size and decor of the room, great staff and very convenient location.
- No business center with free internet access. I don't have a laptop, so that's important. Keyed entry to a locked bus center might be good.

- Bogus extra charges, super expensive parking, rude customer service, room availability.
“The lobby and location were nice. The hotel only had 2 double beds for my husband and I which was disappointing. We found some hairs in the bathroom. They charged $30 for parking for about 12 hours! They also charged us for bottles of water in the room ($15) that we
did not
drink. I still have to call and get that straightened out. The jacuzzi was tiny, it looked like one you would have in your backyard. The gym looked really nice though. The customer service was not impressive on check-in.”

“The hotel itself was very nice, however the bed was sagging in the middle, and the front desk refused to believe us! Also the fan in the washroom was non existent. Led to lots of humidity and odor spreading into the room. Concierge was very nice, booked some great trips for us.”
