• No free parking.

“The hotel was fine. It was clean and decorated nicely. It just wasnt the extravagant 5 year wedding anniversary room I as hoping for. I had already stayed at this hotel in the past. I would have chosen a different hotel if I had a choice.”

• This hotel is centrally located in downtown Vancouver and perfect for business trips.
• Rooms are not well insulated (sound) and you can hear bathroom noises from next door starting 5 AM. moreover, the room we got had no view.

“Delta Vancouver Suites is an excellent hotel to stay if you are on business trip or taking a cruise and need to stay for 1 night. The room we stayed in was clean, spacious with comfortable bed. The staff is very friendly and courteous and always greets you with a smile. We went to Vancouver for our honeymoon and staff brought us champagne and strawberries after we checked-in, it was really nice. Moreover, the rooms are not well insulated for sound. Every morning at 5 AM we woke up to the noise of bathroom / shower next door to us, very annoying if you are trying to relax. As I said earlier, this is a perfect hotel for business trip or 1 knighted stay for cruise, definitely not for extended vacation stay.”

• Great location, comfortable room and professional staff.
• There was a little noise going on because of nearby construction, but that was not controllable by hotel.

“I recently stayed at the Delta Suites in Vancouver, BC. The hotel staff was very accommodating from the time I arrived to the time I left. The room was my favorite part of the hotel because they have "black out" curtains that make the room look very dark. The bed was very comfortable and I felt like I could sleep all day. I think this hotel is in the best location in Vancouver. There are so many great restaurants, bars, and nightclubs nearby. The Sky Train is a few blocks away and Robson street is a short 5 minute walk. I would definitely stay at this hotel again.”

• Helpful and friendly staff.
• No shuttle to/from the airport, though most in the area do not and everything about the hotel made up for the expense of the cab ride from the airport.

“This hotel had amazing service, a friendly staff, and is in a great location. The room was in excellent condition. We had a great experience overall and would definitely come back. Our luggage did not make it on our arrival to Vancouver and the hotel immediately gave us complimentary toiletries and a warm cookie at checking.”

• The staff were all friendly and offered to help without us having to ask.
• Our room had a queen bed and we prefer a King.

“Great location two blocks from Pacific Centre Mall and one block from the Sky train and Sea bus terminal. Our room was very clean and was well insulated from the sound of traffic and other rooms. Many room types here offer a king bed but our basic suite had a queen. The staff went out of their way to offer help even when we did not ask. Don't worry about the street people if you venture out during the weekday business hours. I saw only a couple of unkempt individuals that were just walking along but the vast majority of the people I saw were workers walking to or from work. Check out the cookies and coffee at Cookies of Course across the street in the Harbor Centre building.”

• Toilet in room had to be repaired, stench of smoke in the room.

“This was my first time in this hotel. The Delta Suites satisfied my needs for business. It is central to Downtwon Vancouver, is very well kept, with beautiful rooms. Beyond all of this, the hospitality provided this hotel's staff goes above any other four star hotel that have stayed in.”

• Room layout, each compartmentalized space is too cramped and not relaxing. Next-door shower was very noisy.

“There is neither a hotel gift shop nor a hotel parking facility (public parking across the alley). The room was small, the queen size bed was small, TVs were small and old, and bathroom/shower noises from next-door was way too noisy.”

• The staff was friendly and informative.
• Everything cost extra and the rooms had stained furniture and poor television clarity. Additionally the layout did not take advantage of the view.

“For the location it was great. What was unfortunate is that the hotel was not 4-star quality. The Television was fuzzy and small. The rooms were tiny and the furniture stained. Instead of looking out to the city view the room was situated to look into a neighboring building. Just moving the furniture to the other wall would have solved this. Internet cost extra and it wasn't wireless, so you had to sit at the desk to use your laptop. not at the coffee table, not by the window, not in the bedroom, but only at the desk. Parking was extra as well. The walls in the hotel are thin in that you can hear anything going on in the hallways. children running, adults talking, maid service knocking on doors and it always sounds like they are knocking on your door. The good thing about it was the staff was incredibly friendly and informative. Wonderful people they were, all around. The local was also good in the downtown area, rather than in the outskirts of Vancouver.”

• The layout with bedroom being separate was quite nice.
• It was about four blocks out of the pulse of the city.

• Location and underground parking facilities.
• Internet charges are misrepresented. You are charged per computer, even using the line consecutively, not simultaneously.

“The delta Vancouver suites may have real suites, but our 'suite' was just one room with no barrier between the bedroom and the living area. It was clean, but some of the finishing (e.g. tiling/grouting) was really average. The Chateau Granville Best Western Suites give much better bang for your buck, plus, there we had a view. Also, I think it's wrong to advertise 'unlimited 24 hour internet for 9.95 plus tax' when only one computer/IP address is allowed. My husband and I had both taken our laptops and when he left for his meeting, I wanted to do some work on mine. The hotel wouldn't allow me to use the connection he had already paid for, but nothing in their literature or the internet provider's disclaimer says anything about being able to use only one computer in the room. Again, Im not talking about both of us trying to access the internet at the same time; Im talking about using the same connection at different times during the same 24 hour period. I guess if it's a two star place you expect to pay for any extras, but at a supposed 4 star, this seemed chintzy.”

• The people were so friendly.
• No pool and below par gym.

“This hotel was great. We went to Vancouver so we could shop, eat, and party on rob son and Granville so it was a bit of a walk to there but not too bad (about 15 minutes walk). The staff were very helpful and friendly and I felt very welcome. The room was a very good size and very clean. There is no pool so I was a little sad about that but overall I highly recommend this hotel.”

• Close to harbourfront relatively convenient for Downtown business.
• Poor lobby, not very inviting. Very small odd corner room, a little close to seedier part of Downtown for my comfort.

“Not too bad, didn't meet my expectation of a 4 star "hotel". Good for business Downtown but a few blocks further away from the action of Robson and Stanley park for my liking. I would be nervous walking at night in this part of town.”

• The water running in the next room was so loud that it kept us awake. Better insulation would have been nicer.

• Valet staff was terrible and our car was vandalized.

“We were in Vancouver for a short trip and the hotel was a little difficult to find. Everything about the hotel was fine except the next morning we found our car was pilfered through without signs of forceful entry, in other words either the valet didnt lock it or they themselves sifted through our stuff. Very disappointing.”

• Manager on duty, upgraded my room (Delata Club) and was responsive to my concerns
• The clerk on duty, first refused to give me a room with 2 beds, then, refused to check me in at 4:30, I called the manager and all became good.

“The parking is a problem with this hotel. The suit was small and TVs were old Zenith brand still working but very good bed and internet connection. Great hotel for business travelers, centrally located.”

• The pillows were too firm for our liking although they looked great sitting on the bed.

“Generally it was a good location and the staff was friendly. There was a smell in the room that resembled mildew we noticed each time we walked through the door. Once we were in it seemed ok, but we would not be anxious to return to that hotel.”

“After walking around in the cold, Spencers lounge is a welcome retreat and meeting place for my friends and me. The staffs are very friendly and helpful. We asked their advice on several occasions for where to eat, how to find places, and traffic signals. The hotel is a couple of blocks from the sea bus terminal, which is where we would buy our mass transit day passes.”

• It looked good from the lobby and business centre was free.
• "Suites" meant a bedroom and a living room. Resulted in two rooms that were too small.

“Nice looking hotel but the "suite" concept with two rooms meant both the bedroom and the sitting room were too small to be of value. I could barely move in any space of the king suite. Bathroom was an obvious Reno of an older bathroom. This was not in the same class as the Marriott pinnacle in Vancouver.”

• Parking fee, the small size of one room, and the location of the other room.

“We had 2 rooms. The one with 2 double beds was very spacious, but overlooked the lower roof & air conditioning units. However, people strolled by the window. The room with one queen bed was very cramped, but had a nicer view.”

• Excellent service.
• They have nice rooms but it's also mixed into others that are not as nice (yet more expensive).

“The service was excellent. Without a doubt, the staff really cares about the customers, and they went out of their way to make sure everything was right. They have some rooms with amazing views, but only if you ask for it. There are many more other less spectacular rooms as well.”
