• Excellent customer service.
• Nothing.

“When we arrived, our luggage was whisked away. Although we were traveling with my mother and her good friend, who were staying on a different floor than us, the correct luggage wound up in our room by the time we got there. Everyone was friendly and helpful. No complaints.”

• The bathroom was nice.
• Slowest elevators ever!

“A very small bedroom with a queen sized bed, one robe, one glass in the bathroom. The bed was not comfortable at all and we had a terrible nights sleep. The elevators were incredibly slow and just getting up and down from the room was a task. The parking garage was tiny and the spaces were very tight.”

• The room was spacious and had a well-hidden kitchen.
• Lobby/access/entrance to hotel.

“Stylish room and public spaces. All rooms have a kitchen; in mine (a studio) it was well hidden in built-in cabinets. Some deferred maintenance issues (toilet handle sticks). Awkward pedestrian entrance to hotel from street - lobby is 2 floors of stairs up from Robson; avoid stairs by using rear (car) entrance.”

• Felt like staying in a condo! Didn't feel like a hotel at all - felt like you were at home.

“The rooms are small, but the space is efficiently used. The kitchenette and living area are a nice touch. Great for a short stay (we stayed 4 nights), but any longer you might start to feel cramped. The workout facility and pool were beautiful, and there was also a Marketplace IGA downstairs for us to grab breakfast at!”

• Location was good, and the restaurant food was great.
• Parking a little pricey and odd setup for restaurant.

“We enjoyed the location and the room was very nicely appointed. The restaurant food was delicious but, could have a nicer set up for the hotel - seemed like you were walking into a lounge, which you did have to to get to the dining area. Our view was looking directly on/at apartments so it felt like you didn't want the blinds open. Overall, we thought the room was very nice.”

“Very nice staff. complimentary upgrade, free chocolate covered almonds, wine and beer store right next door. Walking distance to clubs, restaurants, shopping. Great heavenly bed, shower and the view was remarkable.”

• Lack of guide books and activities in lobby.

“Hotel is situated in a great location, two Starbucks less than 2 blocks away and several restaurants close by. We had a wonderful view from the 20th floor. The room was good size and clean. We used the spa and pool area which was very nice.”

• Oddly stocked kitchen - dishwasher, no soap. Convection oven, no directions.

“Very clean and comfortable hotel. Staff was business-like and efficient, though not effusive. Right in the heart of downtown. Suites with some kitchen facilities were very helpful for a somewhat Extended Stay.”

• Room was larger than expected with lots of storage.
• Had to request pillows and blanket for sofa bed, took over an hour to arrive.

“Overall a nice hotel. Not the best Westin I've stayed in but a good value for the star rating. Desk staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Valet service was mediocre. Hotel is at extreme east end of Robson which is quieter but a longer walk to shops and restaurants. I called about directions to the check-in area and was told right on the corner of Homer and Robson. The hotel entrance is actually hidden in an alley off Robson and took us three trips around the block to locate. Hotel signs are not readily apparent from other business signs on Robson street.”

• The room was beautiful and so clean. The staff was friendly and the location was superb.
• The elevators are so slow making check out time a disaster.

“The hotel is situated close to restaurants and shopping very central. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The rooms are spectacular and very clean. My only complaint is that there are only 2 elevators that are extremely slow, after three elevators passed our floors and were full with people upon check out we had to take the stairs which was not so fun for a pregnant lady.”

• Excellent location.
• Only one mirror in entire suite, in bathroom, made it hard for two to get ready at the same time.

“Great location and very nice suite, wonderful view of the city lights at night. Staff was friendly and helpful. We could walk everywhere and there's plenty to see and do. Our suite had a mini kitchen with amenities I wouldn't have expected. My only complaint was that the only mirror was in the bathroom, so when getting ready it made it harder for us both to get ready at the same time. They need to put up a mirror in the bedroom and it would be perfect!”

• Genuine - not force warmth & friendliness of the staff.
• No dishwashing powder supplied with the dishwasher.

“We were impressed with the friendly & helpful staff across all areas of the hotel. Good pool, gym facilities & room service food was delicious (even the after 10pm menu). The only criticism we had was that we accidentally left some belongings in the room & even though the hotel found them they did not contact us on our contact number but when we called 2 weeks later when we realized we had left things behind the hotel said they new they were ours. Having said that the hotel then made every effort to get our belongings to us quickly.”

“Nice hotel - we had a king suite. Bed was comfortable, bathroom was big with separate shower and bathtub. Only stayed one night but everything met or exceeded my expectations.”

• We requested a room for disabled. The bathroom was inconvenient because the tub was much too high and the toilet not high enough for disabled.

“Other than the complaint in #14, the hotel was lovely and the staff very cheerful, helpful, and went out of their way to please us.”

• It was nice well appointed and the room was large containing everything a person needed if you were staying for a week.
• Did not like having to upgrade to a king size bed for more money.

• I liked to location. It was close to restaurants and shopping.
• The bedroom was very small so fortunately the small sitting room area could be used for luggage.

“We stayed here briefly the night before a cruise. The room was fine and very quiet. It is advertised as a suite which it was but the bedroom was very small so together with the sitting room. It was not really any larger than a regular room in a hotel.”

• Elegant but friendly, comfortable luxury.
• Did not eat at hotel, but looked at all menus.

“This hotel is nicely situated in downtown Vancouver, near the arts center, the amazing public library, and only a few blocks walk from the waterside area. Staff was professional, friendly, and very helpful in giving us information for sightseeing for our short stay. Our cabs were called quickly and our suite was wonderful.”

• Location and view were fabulous.
• The bar was incredibly bad. Expensive, poor execution, bad service.

“Rooms are nice little micro-suites. Very clean and comfortable. But all facilities are basically self-service. Very quiet for a Westin. The bar is terrible--expensive and poorly executed. On the plus side, front desk staff was very friendly and helpful. This hotel is in the right location for exploring Vancouver.”
