Stephen from Mt. Pleasant, SC
“Booked 2 rooms: received 1 south beach suite and one double deluxe room. Suite was much nicer (second bed was sofa bed). Nice hotel with big swimming pool which the kids loved. Appeared to be good location. Our room overlooked other buildings. Apparently, a pet friendly hotel, dog in lobby. Overall, a very nice hotel, a very good choice - for the price we got. Probably a lower end 4-star hotel.” Jul 23, 2007 by
Dr. J. from Cleveland, OH
“The Pacific Palisades in Vancouver has a fabulous location in the city. It was very clean and friendly, room service was great. Food was hot and the staff very helpful.” Jul 19, 2007 by
Shomai from San Gabriel, CA
“My family and I stayed at this hotel. The front desk apologized for giving us a room with out a better view. He must have been joking because our view of the Bay couldn't have been any nicer on the 15th floor. This is just a wonderful hotel with something for everyone. Whether shopping, museums, nature walks, or laying around the pool (with the cutest cabanas surrounding it) is your thing; this is the perfect hotel.” 1 of 1 people found this review helpful.Jul 18, 2007 by

“At check in, the staff was very nice. They sounded excited that we were staying at the hotel. The bed was very comfortable especially for tall people. Overall it was a good experience but I felt that the hotel fell short of my expectations of a 4 star hotel for the amount that I paid for it. It should be priced as a 3 star upscale.” Jul 15, 2007 by
Isaac from Miami, FL
“A very good hotel with a friendly staff. I would highly recommended to any friend.” Jul 12, 2007 by
Adrienne C. from Dallas, TX
“Overall, a very positive experience.” Jul 11, 2007 by
Pam from Cleveland, TN
“Our room was huge and very clean. However, we are not accustomed to having to stay in a room over seventy degrees. Miserable trying to sleep with a less than adequate air conditioner. Got a fan for second night and slept a bit better. Great place and the AC was probably an isolated event.” Jul 9, 2007 by
Hoon from Hoboken, NJ
“While the service was excellent, the hotel should be considered 3 stars and not 4.” Jul 9, 2007 by
Tracey from Stratford, ON CA
“I would not recommend this hotel at all and rating it a 4 star compromises. Very old, very dated, small rooms, tiny elevator, very basic beds - not even close to a four star. Paying less and being treated poorly in a much over-rated hotel is not a deal.” 1 of 1 people found this review helpful.Jul 5, 2007 by

“Overall, the hotel is great. The staff is super and went out of their way to answer any questions. I forgot all my toiletries and they provided me all the necessities. Location is great for seeing downtown. Hon's Chinese restaurant around the corner. Rooms comfortable with fridge and microwave.” Jul 2, 2007 by
Liz from Houston, TX
“Great place for a reasonably priced stay in downtown Vancouver. Funky, friendly, and fun. Very accessible to major attractions.” Jul 2, 2007 by
Brian from Boston, MA
“From the moment we arrived till the moment we left the staff went above and beyond to make us feel at home and make our stay as accommodating as they possible couldve! Great experience!” Jul 1, 2007 by
N from New York, NY
“An overall good experience. The location was good, but so are many other places in downtown Vancouver. We were there just one night and it was perfectly nice.” Jun 30, 2007 by
Susan from Carrollton, TX
“Enjoyed the stay. Had a better view than expected. Great location.” Jun 28, 2007 by
Ron from Tallahassee, FL
“The room was a large suite with ample kitchen and dining facilities. The king-size bed was very comfortable. The front desk staff were very courteous and helpful, including once when I thought I had lost something. The umbrella provided in the room is a nice touch. However, two things about the room bothered me about my stay. First, the internet connection was hit and miss. First, I could not connect to the wireless connection. Even the plug-in cable provided connected successfully about half the time. Second, I do not think I ever got the air conditioning turned on - however, this being Vancouver in June, there was no need for a/c and it was comfortable sleeping with the window open. (Although be aware that the hotel faces Robson St., with its many noisy clubs and bars.) That said, I used to live in Vancouver, and I can say that the hotel did a great job of providing a decent room in a fantastic location and at a very reasonable rate.” Jun 25, 2007 by
Paul from Waterloo, ON CA
“Hotel is great. Staff very friendly and willing to do anything for you. Decor is quirky but you get used to it. I was concerned after reading some reviews but was pleasantly surprised. Would stay there again.” Jun 24, 2007 by
Jim from Alamo, CA
“Nice, comfortable hotel located in a residential part of the city. Easy walk to Stanley Park, the south side of the peninsula and Granville Island via water taxi. A full range of shops and restaurants from upscale to funky to comfortable neighborhood restaurants.” Jun 19, 2007 by
Serena W. from Toronto, ON CA
“Good location, good sized room. Small details like asking about my favorite drink and magazine and providing a goldfish in the room were very nice. The soundproofing was a bit lacking so it could be noisy when folks were in the halls. The halls and elevators are a bit claustrophobic. The hotel staff wasn't as helpful as at some other hotels, but they were okay. Overall a good hotel in a good location.” Jun 19, 2007 by
Jane from Lafayette, LA
“Great location & many choices in dining fun décor.” Jun 18, 2007 by
Amber from Richmond, BC CA
“Much better than I expected, staff was very friendly. A little noisy, but that's to be expected because of its location on rob son street.” Jun 13, 2007 by
Rashel from Cooper City, FL
“Staff was very friendly and concierge was terrific! Complementary wine tasting was a nice bonus. Location could not be beat - walking distance to everything.” Jun 7, 2007 by
Howard from Calgary, AB CA
“A nice hotel.” Jun 6, 2007 by
Helen from S, WA
“Our family always enjoys staying at this hotel. I do feel it could use a bit of room updating if it is to be considered a 4 star hotel. The location is terrific and the staff is always friendly.” May 23, 2007 by
Jean from Seattle, WA
“This hotel is more like an older Holiday Inn.” May 22, 2007 by
Dave from Newcastle, WA
“This hotel is on Robson Street, what more do you need? The service is top notch and there is room service available, albeit an expensive menu. We enjoyed our stay but may look for another, newer hotel in the future. The single-pane windows let in a lot of noise at night, even though we were on the 16th floor. I needed to wear earplugs but I'm a light sleeper. My wife slept just fine.” May 11, 2007 by
Wendy from Portland, OR
“We loved it. We travel with our 5 year old. They let me check in really early, gave us a fish for our room, and had great recommendations for meals and activities. All the guys in the lobby joked and teased our son and made us feel very welcome. After noon happy hour with free wine was an unexpected treat.” May 10, 2007 by
Kathy from San Jose, CA
“ The wine reception in the art gallery was very special, a great place to meet other guests, but our real joy was dining and having cocktails in the adventuresome restaurant. The chef is creative and attentive to detail. We loved our 3 stops there.” May 7, 2007 by
Lindsay C. from Victoria, WA
“If you are looking for a nice suite, but with no other perks this is a good hotel. The lobby is small and the common areas weren't very inviting, but as a business traveler I would rather have more room in my suite, which I did. The room was very large and inviting and it was nice to have the separate couch to just relax on and watch TV while I unwound after a long day. My only complain was the interior color scheme - the 1970's bright green carpets have to go and the furniture was pretty close in color to the carpet. A good hotel if you are color blind.” May 6, 2007 by
Todd from Vashon, WA
“The room was the worst no idea how you can call this 4 star. This place is an old (1950's), not so nice apartment building converted to a hotel. You get fooled because the lobby is very nice, but once you're in the elevator you see how old and run down the building is. The heat broke in my room and stayed on at 80 degrees so I couldn't sleep a wink. Called maintenance man at 12:30am and he didn't show. Had to leave the windows open because the air-conditioning couldn't keep up the fight with the heat, but it was still too hot and I then had all the noise from the street below (hotel is on very busy bar street.). Maintenance guy didn't show all day the next day. I had to threaten to move out before they sent someone. They didn't offer to compensate me at all. ” May 1, 2007 by
Colleen from Victoria, WA
“I was not impressed with this hotel. I will be going back to Vancouver next week but considering not using your service again if it means that I would have to stay here. It overlooked Robson street and was very noisy - The rooms were not up to snuff and poor quality amenities (like drapes (non-existent), windows (single pained and dirty and did not block the noise). Overall was very disappointed with this hotel. I have used your system quite a bit on trips to Vancouver and have never been disappointed up until now.” Apr 30, 2007 by
Dan from Portland, OR
“I was very pleased with the size of the room, cleanliness, exercise facility and very pleasant staff. It may best be described as "quirky", however, so traveler's looking for a more traditional luxury hotel may not be as happy. Certainly not what most envision as 4 star. For example, the elevators are small and slow and you have to go outside to get to the lobby from the building we were in. But we like "different", rather than "franchise" so were happy.” Apr 24, 2007 by
Aaron from Toronto, ON CA
“This is not a four star hotel. The furnishings and general appearance of the hotel have deteriorated.” Apr 19, 2007 by
Tiep from Pleasanton, CA
“This hotel reserves 3 stars rating. ” Apr 18, 2007 by
Johnathan from Kirkland, WA
“A comfortable place to stay in downtown Vancouver. Good location on Robson street but a little noisy. Our room was bright and cheerful with bright colors that nearly blinded me when I first walked into the room. Elevator can hold run way models and not big guests.” Mar 31, 2007 by
Mark from Hillsboro, OR
“Pacific Palisades Hotel is right in the heart of Vancouver. Robson Street and public transportation are within walking distance. The rooms are older and need some repairs, but the hotel staff is friendly and helpful. Parking is $25CAD per night, for valet or self-park. I recommend valet, as the self-park has an automated gate that was hard to manage, especially with only one person. Location is the strength of this hotel. There are many shops and good restaurants nearby, not the least of which is a crepe across the street. Also, views from the rooms can be quite stunning, including water views and a great spectacle of lights at night. Since there is another tower of the hotel and other high-rises nearby, take care to cover the windows at night for privacy.” Mar 29, 2007 by
Ainslie from White Rock, BC CA
“Beautiful hotel. Unique decor. Perfect location in the heart of downtown Vancouver.” Mar 28, 2007 by
Maryanne H. from Bellingham, WA
“Great location. Had requested a 1 bedroom suite. At the desk, they said we would be getting room with 2 queen beds on a "pets-allowed" floor. Due to allergies, we cannot stay in room where animals have stayed. They "upgraded" us a 1 bedroom (king and queen sofa bed), which is what I had thought we were getting anyways. Otherwise great stay.” Mar 17, 2007 by
Charles from Loganville, GA
“I received a first floor room off the secure garage area overlooking a city street. After stepping into the hotel from the garage I thought I was in a retro fitted hotel in need of significant repair. It was old and not comforting for myself, spouse and kids. Room was decent” Mar 17, 2007 by
Kirke from Nanoose Bay, BC CA
“My former employee had a suite in this hotel 20 years ago. It is not really located in the downtown core and the dining facilities presently offered are not even close to what they used to be.” Feb 14, 2007 by
Richard from Mckinney, TX
“Great location on Robeson, for easy shopping and dining access. Pool and spa were in separate building therefore not convenient, unless you want to stroll around in a robe, which some couples did. Dog friendly, which we thought was a nice family-friendly touch. ” Feb 13, 2007 by
Erez from Renton, WA
“A very nice centrally located boutique hotel. Lobby is fantastic, staff is incredible, room amenities are nice, but not 4****.” Feb 6, 2007 by
Erica from Seattle, WA
“I would not rate this as a 4star hotel. The hotel walls were very shabby, scratched & in bad need of painting. The staff was great. The room was good sized but not the cleanest. What was called a "water view" room looked directly at a large building that obstructed the entire view of the water. The hotel also allows dogs and the first room we were given was right next to a room with an obnoxious yipping Chihuahua. We had to be reassigned to another room in order to be able to sleep.” Jan 11, 2007 by
Angie from Oklahoma City, OK
“The hotel was very nice, comfortable and the staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Probably the best hotel staff experience I¿ve ever had. The concierge was fantastic as well as the doorman. The wine tasting was as must. The bed was extremely comfortable, the view was awesome.” Jan 9, 2007 by
Gordon from Seattle, WA
“Hotel is in excellent location within close walking distance of restaurants, shops, etc. Staff is helpful and friendly. Beds are comfortable. Furnishings are older, hallways dark and somewhat dingy.” Jan 6, 2007 by
Sindy from Surrey, BC CA
“On the day that I stayed at the hotel there was a problem with the water. The shower constantly went form cold to hot (not very fun). Also, I made the mistake of not requesting my car from valet until I checked out 45 mines later I still did not have my car (finally after many requests we went and got it ourselves). Overall, I think this hotel is in a great location, the rooms are nice and the service is great. The best part of the hotel was the decor it¿s very modern and dog friendly.” Dec 14, 2006 by
Jeanette from Nanaimo, CA
“This hotel had an older feel to it - very small elevators and only 2 for 21 floors. 1 ice machine for 21 floors and it was broken. Strange location of the lobby and not attached to the tower we were in. Drove right by the building as could not see any sign for it and the street where it is supposed to be located. Not a 4 star hotel!” Dec 13, 2006 by
Kent from Toronto, CA
“This is a decent three star hotel, with nice kitchenettes and good location. Not of the same caliber as the Westin bay shore, Hyatt, delta suites, Marriott pinnacle, or other 4 star hotels. It is in desperate need of a makeover for the hallways in the north tower, carpets and wallpaper looked much worn. The furniture in my room looked like something that had been picked up on a curb - flaking varnish/paint etc. Not good.” Nov 15, 2006 by
Cynthia from Colton, CA
“The location of pacific palisades, directly off Robeson street, was fabulous. The room left something to be desired, as the beds were only full-size. The room itself was very nice and clean. The staff was average upon check-in and other contact, with exception of the extremely helpful concierge.” Nov 13, 2006 by
Kim from Eugene, OR
“This hotel works really hard to portray an image of being "in the now," but it's really kitschy. The hallways in the towers are unbelievably dark and claustrophobic; the scents in the lobbies are overpowering rather than relaxing; and the valet staff is surprisingly slow. The hotel is pet friendly, but the sound of a distressed dog woke us up more than once, and the noise of Saturday night on rob son street kept us awake most of the night. I wouldn't stay in this hotel again, especially for the price. It's not bad; it's just not worth the money and the snotty atmosphere.” Nov 6, 2006 by
Tracey from Salmon Arm, BC CA
“Hotel hallways had graffiti and badly scuffed and marked up paint. Carpet in lobby was dirty. Blinds in the room were badly chipped and the carpet worn.” Hotel Representatives:
