  • I love the size of the rooms and the location!
  • 100% satisfied.

“I have stayed at the Pacific Palisades numerous times. Generally, I love the Kempton hotel group and in particular love this hotel. It has a little bit of funkiness which I enjoy while still maintaining high standards. Amazing location!”

  • Free wine from 4:30-5:30.
  • The West Tower was neglected with small elevators, one floor to get ice, dingy basement/parking entry.

“The main lobby and wine are the highlights. The room was mediocre but getting to the room made it worse as the elevators were small/crowded, the yellow paint everywhere was not very modern feeling and the basement/parking area was poorly constructed. In addition, the only place to get ice was in the basement. Friendly people working there though!”

“The Pacifac Pallisades provides a refreshing experience in that they manage to expand upon the corporate formula for upscale hotels. Although their spin may not be for everyone it is certainly nice to see that the option is out there.”

  • M-Body Spa was a wonderful place. Steam room, pool and hot tub were great. Manicure was great.
  • Phone system was poor. Restaurant lounge needed an update and repairs.

  • The concierge, Carol, was quite helpful. The staff was friendly.
  • The room and furniture was old and run down. Maybe a bad attempt at contemporary decor.

“This hotel is in a great location and has a very friendly staff that is responsive to the guest's needs. However, this hotel is, at best, a 3 star hotel. The paint on the furniture was peeling as was the paint on the ceiling above the bath tub.”

  • Our suite was spacious and attractive.
  • We asked for a quiet room, but the room we got was adjacent to the elevator shaft, which caused significant noise.

“The rooms are spacious and very nicely renovated. Each room has a small kitchenette, which is very convenient. Staff is either over or under attentive. The location on Robson street is very central, but very noisy and rather characterless - doesn't capture what Vancouver has to offer.”

  • Downtown location.
  • Way too loud-- difficulty sleeping.

“I have stayed at Kimptons before and like them. However, this one was not great and did not merit the star level that it had. In particular, our room was very loud (we could hear everyone talking in the valet and courtyard area outside of our room, usually until 4 AM). We complained to the management after the first night, but they did not move us. I heard other guests complaining as well, so it is not clear that another room would have been much quieter. We had to buy ear plugs in order to sleep.”

  • The spacious( a one bedroom apt) room with fridge and micro.
  • I asked for a non smoking room. The room smelled liked covered up smoke residue. After opening the windows for a couple of days, it aired out.

“I think for the price, it was a great hotel, especially in pricy Vancouver. I don't consider it a 4 Star hotel however. The staff was very helpful and accommodating. Because it is a remodeled apartment building, the rooms are very spacious and comfortable. The pool in the health center was very nice.”

  • The fitness facility was fantastic.
  • Poor service, dirty rooms, not cozy.

“I was not impressed with this hotel. It is at best a 2+ star hotel. One non-smoking room had a really bad smoke smell and our other room didn't get made up one day. They did credit us our valet price though. I would not stay here again and was very disappointed with the hotel and it's ambiance. The fitness center was fantastic but closed way to early.”

  • Property in desperate need of renovation.

“Property is ok, but not close to a 4 star hotel. Room was very beat and in need of updating. Just not up to the Kimpton standards at their other properties. This hotel does not offer the evening wine tasting common at Kimpton locations. Room was located in a separate building from check in. Entrance to this building is direct to street.”

  • The wooden curtains - 1 did not work and 2 were difficult and did nothing to darken the room.

  • Superb staff, a great lounge/restaurant (Zen), good location and very pet friendly.
  • It was so noisy.

“Everything at this hotel was great except for one major flaw that it was so noisy. You can really hear the street traffic even on the 15th floor. We asked for a quiet room and we were put beside a bunch of partying kids both nights. They offered us a free nights stay which was a nice gesture but it didn't make up for the lack of sleep. Other than that it has superb staff, a great lounge/restaurant (Zen), good location and very pet friendly.”

“Great location on Robson on the West End. It's a 6 - 8 block walk from both the sky train station (which links to Amtrak) and a 6 - 8 block walk from Stanley Park. Robson Street, fabulous for shopping, eating and nightlife - as well as people-watching. Hotel staff was very friendly and attentive. The pool and spa atrium are beautiful - I only used the pool and hot tub, didn't have time for a massage! The west end is always my location choice for Vancouver and Pacific Palisades will be on my short list for hotel choices.”

“I thoroughly enjoyed the view of English Bay in the morning. The quick access to the seawall and Stanley Park made for a great early morning jog. The fitness facility was small but adequate. Most remarkably, the fried turkey breast and eggs on multigrain for breakfast at ZIN.”

  • The staff was the friendliness and most helpful I've ever encountered.

“Once we told the hotel we were in town to get married, they gave us a free upgrade. After the wedding they left a plate with a pastry congratulating us! It really made our experience perfect.”

  • Location to shopping/restaurants - kitchenette in room (good for preparing kids' meals) - indoor pool - wine tasting.
  • Uncomfortable bed (definitely not a Westin Heavenly Bed!) - Narrow hallways - small elevators.

“The front desk staff & lobby far exceeded the room quality, but the extra space in the room was good (as was having a kitchenette) since we had young children with us. The indoor pool is another bonus.”

  • The hotel has a fantastic pool.
  • The hallways were very Narrow.

“The hotel is in Downtown Vancouver a very convenient area with many good stores and restaurants. The hotel itself is older. We were given a one bedroom corner suite. The bedroom was on the small side, the bed was very comfortable. The living room was nice. The suite was equipped with a coffee maker, microwave, and refrigerator. The hotel has a well equipped exercise room and a large indoor heated swimming pool and Jacuzzi.”

  • Had good quality bedding and comfortable beds.
  • It felt rundown and dated. Their attempt at decorating was cheap and tawdry.

“The hotel was in a great location and the beds were very comfortable. The decorating was not our taste. The main problem wasn't that the decorating was modern, but rather cheap modern. The bedside tables finish was ruined. The desk was old and the top was painted a cheap blue. The soap dishes looked like a child's craft. Very disappointing. It was a 2 star dressed up as a 4 star.”

  • The staff and room service was exceptional.
  • The decor and wear of the carpets, etc were more of dorm room quality. Completely unacceptable.

“The staff is very friendly, very helpful. They chose to upgrade me to a suite which was very spacious. The quality of room service is very good. The building interior looks like an old, faded senior apartment complex or dormitory. The carpets are worn and stained, the wall surfaces look like they were painted without cleaning or resurfacing. The bathroom was old materials and the grount on the tub is yellowed-discolored. The tub is small. While the staff is friendly and the facilities are indeed cleaned, the appearance of the interior is disheartening. I hope I don't 'win' this one again.”

“False advertising. The hotel markets itself as an upscale property. When in reality it is a cheaply remodeled extremely old apartment. The water in the spa had not been changed in days and the buttons on all the soap dispensers in the showers had been removed. The hallways smelled of cat urine.”

  • I wanted to change rooms, and there were plenty of other rooms and the desk clerk refused to move me.

“1st time very poor service - was placed in the handicap room- I was not pleased. Wanted to be moved, and the lady at the desk would not move me. There were other vacant rooms available, none handicap - if this is price line policy to be placed in a handicap room, after bidding on room- then you keep your discount- I have used your service too much to be treated like this- please check this out, it may be an isolated incident. Very unsatisfied traveler”

  • Spotlessly clean; convenient location near 405 Freeway; nice bath products.
  • Parking fee seemed very high for the area.

“The Hilton Orange County - Costa Mesa is a nice "high-end moderate" facility. The rooms were pleasant and extremely clean. It simply is not luxurious enough to warrant this rating. The bathroom fixtures, mattress, bedding and furniture were on par with most other establishments. The TV was old--many places these days have flat screen TVs. Also, $16/day for self-parking is very expensive for a suburban mid-rise hotel. Overall, however, it is a very good facility.”

  • TV in bedroom was going out, was told they are replacing all TVs soon.

“Amazing hotel, the staff was amazing the pool/spa area was amazing. The TVs seemed a little old for being a 4 star, but I was told that they were replacing the TVs in the next few months. I really enjoyed that they are also trying to make it a green hotel.”

  • It needed to be redecorated.

“We stayed here only one night. Its location was great, but the decor was from the '50's. It would be ideal for a family because of its spaciousness. It appeared to have been an apartment previously. The balcony was great. We stayed at the Sheraton in downtown Seattle the previous night and it was fabulous.”

  • Big bright room, little area for coffee great view.
  • Small elevators, uncomfortable lobby furniture.

“The room I had was bright and light and roomy with an easy chair to read and relax in. Good reading light next to bed and nice coffee tea array. Bathroom was nice (restricted showerhead though) and bath products were good quality. Air conditioning worked well and the bed was nicely outfitted. I'd love to stay again. Shopping and waterfront within easy walking distance.”

“I was afraid we would not find this hotel up to 4 star levels. It is an older building, but the fun decor and staff made for a fantastic experience. Although we weren't traveling with a dog, it was neat to see how welcome they were and how they added to the overall atmosphere with bright colored dog bowls, doggie names on welcome signs, etc. Complimentary Starbucks coffee in the lobby in the morning, and complimentary wine reception in the evenings. On Robson Street in a good location.”

  • The room & decor were slightly shabby, chipped paint, etc.

“All the staff I talked with was exceptionally helpful and nice. The lobby and courtyards were great. We had a lovely breakfast. But the room itself was shabby. It's a cutesy decor but does not work, especially when the carpet was worn, the desk had old, chipped paint, and the covered chairs were slightly shabby as well. The beds were comfortable and the bedding was beautiful. But in general, the room struck me as far below any 4 star Vancouver hotel in which I have previously stayed.”

  • I had emailed the hotel and requested a king bed on the 15th floor or above w/ an ocean view and they did it!
  • Carpets soiled my socks when running around the room. But most hotels do.

“This hotel was very accommodating and had very friendly staff. I had emailed the hotel in advance requesting a king size bed, on or above the 15th floor, an ocean view, and it be close to the other room I had booked for my Mother who I had with us. They did it all! The rooms had very comfortable beds, fluffy pillows, a kitchenette, and free internet. I was very happy with this stay.”

  • Unique appearance and welcoming atmosphere.
  • Was not able to supply room with two beds, but did provide a comfortable rollaway.

“Highly recommend this hotel for location, price, and hospitality. Unique decor makes for a whimsical quality not usually found in a hotel. Not your usual cookie-cutter chain room.”

  • The pool and spa area were beautiful; friendly staff.
  • The decor was definitely not at a 4 star level. We went there for our honeymoon and we had hoped for something really special.

“Friendly and professional service. The hotel room had a good view, but I thought that since this room was rated at 4 stars deluxe that it would be modern and fancy. I felt that the decor was more casual.”
