  • Very accumulating. Very clean. Very close to the heart of Vancouver.
  • Views are not great, just basic downtown buildings and streets, especially from the lower floors.

“I've been here twice now and would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone traveling to Vancouver for any reason. My wife and I traveled with our 1yo and found the 1bed room to have plenty of room for ourselves to relax and our toddler to run around (and the room was sparkling clean so we weren't sketched out about having our child on the floors). The staff even provided us with a crib at no additional charge.”

  • The room was beautiful. Nice location and amenities.
  • Elevator was broken. Took at least 5 minutes to get up or down.

“Great hotel, very happy. When I went, there were only 2 working elevators - so made going in and out a pain. But the room was beautiful, staff was very friendly. Parking was a bit expensive though.”

  • Room had nice view, comfortable bed. Pool was open 24 hours which is nice.
  • No balcony, very slow and broken elevators. pool was a little cold, steam room was barely working.

  • The bed was awesome.
  • For a 4-star hotel, there should have been a fridge in the room.

“Clean, convenient, loved the color scheme, and comfortable. They had only 3 elevators running throughout the weekend and that was bothersome for as many people who were trying to use them, but otherwise no complaints. We had a corner room with awesome views, the bed was so comfortable, the TV was good sized. It was very nice.”

  • The guest rooms were very clean, comfortable and modern. Excellent views and location.
  • Cost of parking.

“This hotel surpassed our expectations with it's beautiful interior spaces, friendly staff and luxury accommodations. The location was perfect and centrally located to everything. We were able to obtain a 2 hour extension on check out with no question. I would definitely return to this hotel!”

“The hotel was beautiful and the beds were incredibly comfortable. Our TV didn't work so they offered us another room and when we declined a move, they gave us breakfast on them. There was a roof top sun area on one area of the hotel that appeared quite nice. Our stay was short but very enjoyable.”

  • Conveniently located to the conference.
  • Charged extra for internet service - Ridiculous!

“What you would expect from a Marriott - clean, pleasant, safe, helpful. The only problem is the nickel-and-dimming about internet connectivity. In this day, internet is a necessity for business and charging extra is ridiculous. If I hadn't been using Priceline I wouldn't have stayed in this hotel because of their internet policy.”

  • Very, limited late night room service.

“We check in shortly after midnight. The front desk gentleman was very quick and helpful. The room on the 15th floor had a harbor view and the front of the room was all window. Very nice view. Curtains kept the room dark till we awoke. Room in excellent condition as well as the whole hotel. Definitely would recommend.”

  • Staff were excellent with my 16 month old son.
  • Lock/key slot broke immediately, had to change rooms, etc after long day of travel.

“Hotel was easy to find, easy to check in, with very friendly staff - particularly to my toddler. We had problems with the key/lock the first night - eventually requiring a room change. Staff was as helpful as could be and the mechanic had the front desk complimented us breakfast buffet (delicious with staff offering to get the toddler anything) since the room change meant we lost our great view. Room was beautiful and clean.”

  • Women's dressing/shower area needed some detail cleaning, mainly in the mold department.

“I would recommend this hotel to friends, it is in a beautiful convenient location. Although parking is a little pricey, there is at least parking available for guests. Everything in the downtown core is within walking distance from this location. Staff was friendly and helpful.”

  • The parking was quite expensive - $26.00 which seems too high.

“Great location, very nice exercise area, and they have a pool, whirlpool (nice and hot), sauna, and steam room. Also, nice is Cafe Artigiano located in the bottom of the hotel - excellent coffee - they have won many awards in Vancouver and it was nice to try it out. The hotel is walking distance to Robson, Pacific Center, GM Place. We would stay there again!”

“This hotel was in a perfect location close to everything. The staff was friendly and helpful. The rooms were perfectly appointed and the beds make you want to go back just for them. They also offered a quick early riser (before 6) breakfast delivered to your door. There was also a morning paper included in your room charge.”

“Has some amenities (ballrooms, restaurant, etc.) but the lobby area, while pleasantly and tastefully decorated, was rather small, and the pool/fitness areas were very pedestrian. Rooms were very nice, but not quite up to the caliber of some of the newly updated Marriott’s, we have stayed at. The hotel will also bill you $26 per day for parking.”

    liked the personal touch given by the hotel to guests. It was Christmas Eve and we received stockings on the door. Nice touch.

  • Swimming/pool/sauna 24hrs. Great location.
  • They put me in a cornered room which is small and irregularly shaped. Not clean-hair in the bath tub.

“Great location and exercise facilities. I hated their internet charging policy - 16.95 per day (12pm to 12 pm). Even Hyatt offers a much for 14.95 per day (anytime to anytime). I also hated the hair I saw in the bathtub when I moved in.”

  • The room we ended up in had a nice view, but we had to pay 50/not extra.
  • Terrible staff (maids were good, desk, concierge, valet hopeless).

“Downtown Vancouver is not really the best location to stay in this beautiful, waterfront city. However, Coal Harbor is close to the marinas and to sea planes, and if you are on a high floor, the view from the rooms can be lovely. The staff of the hotel needs retraining and better management. The front desk appears not to communicate with bell and valet staff; bell and valet staff disappear at peak periods. Needs a serious manager.”

  • I liked the fact that the hotel used brand name products that normally only carried at higher ends or boutiques.
  • The housekeeping staff was a bit noisy in the morning (before 9 AM).

  • The location was excellent. Great view across inner harbor to Downtown and float planes landing in front of hotel.
  • Many expensive condos are being built nearby, but some older industrial area still exists.

“This hotel was excellent value for the money. It was situated directly on the Victoria inner harbor and from the patio/walkway outside you could easily view float planes landing/taking off. By crossing a nearby bridge you could easily walk to Downtown restaurants the Empress in 10 minutes. Overall, a great experience!”

  • I loved the 24 hour fitness center and pool area as well as the helpful staff.
  • The room we got was smaller because the larger king size rooms were full.

“There were many things I loved about this hotel. The staff was incredibly helpful and responsive. The pool and fitness area were both 24 hours, so if we were exploring the city late we could take a dip in the hot tub to help our achy muscles. The bathroom in the hotel room had not only a tub, but also a glass shower. Even after we had checked out, the staff held our luggage for us so that we could explore the city for one more day.”

“Pros: The location was great. Walking distance to many attractions and very convenient to get around to Stanley park, bus tours, ferry tours and shopping areas. The room was clean and adequate for party of three (2 adults and one child). The restaurant at the hotel was nice and the gym facilities including the pool, steam and sauna were impressive. Cons: We were celebrating my wife's birthday and I called in advance to request a room on a higher floor if possible and they said it shouldn't be a problem. There was not even an acknowledgement of the request which I know was noted. They also said they would call when it would become available and we never received a call or a note. Internet access is fairly expensive $15! for a deluxe hotel that is unacceptable. Overall an average experience.”

“Hotel is in an excellent location, within walking distance to Stanley Park, Robson Street and Gas town. Staff was very friendly and even upgraded our room to a suite for free when they didn't have 2 bed room that we had requested. Down side parking cost extra $23. The hotel room and lobby could have been more spacious.”
