• Got the breath-taking harbor view.

“Located at the best location, able to walk to the London wax museum, the docks. Had the best view at night-time, the most magnificent scenery from the 8th floor. Very convenient microwave & fridge in the room. We love it, wish to come back again.”

• We liked the proximity to the harbour. The views from the room were excellent
• The hotel did not provide balcony furniture eventhough there was room to sit on the balcony

• Location to ferry and inner harbor.
• Hotel was old and worn and not as clean as I like.

“Excellent location to ferries, inner harbor and restaurants, etc. but not a refreshing, clean hotel also lacked a concierge. I do not feel it deserves a 3 star rating.”

• Open lobby space makes you feel like you've entered a grand hotel.

“Convenient location. Easy walk from the Coho or Clipper. Just a couple blocks and you are standing on the steps of Parliment! Mini-kitchens help you cut costs as well.”

“The hotel is a good hotel located in the heart of James Bay. The hotel and its rooms are clean and well appointed. The gym is a good sized area and better than any I've seen in the same category.”

• Plug in internet is a bit of a pain. Would be more convenient to have wireless internet.

• Shower did not have consistent temperature, water alternated between hot and cold.

“Convenient location to Victoria Clipper ferry terminal. 15 minute walk to downtown Victoria and restaurants. Clean rooms with older decor (10-20 years ago style). Nice toiletries. Disliked the inconsitent temperature when taking a shower, water would alternate between scorching heat and frigid ice water making for a poor shower experience.”

• Clean, efficient, helpful, well-located for those using ferry transportation.
• Door handles automatically slam in halls; people tend to gather in halls; far away from shopping.

“I was ill and asked for a quiet room and got it. (I suspect rooms near elevators are less quiet). The room was clean and reasonably well-furnished and the bed was especially comfortable. Staff towed a corporate line, but one took the time to locate a small restaurant that I could not find. Long halls unfortunately encourage groups to gather there between rooms, and doors automatically slam shut. Excellent location for those traveling by ferry, but difficult for those who have difficulty walking to main shopping area and sites. Excellent breakfast service.”

• Great breakfast buffet for the price and selection.
• I am sure dinner would have been great but, the prices scared us off. Expensive for a family of five.

“This was a great stay. Their concierge Kristen is a wealth of knowledge. The hotel room was very clean and comfortable. The hotel shuttle was very convenient we used it four times while there, always on time and available. I would recommend them easily. They are also in an extremely convenient location.”

• Got wrong room first night.

“The harbor towers is a really nice pet and family friendly hotel a couple blocks off the water, the staff make every effort to accommodate and are great at comping if things go wrong. We will stay there again, the penthouse suite was fantastic, the view was wonderful.”

• That there was rooms available on a busy long weekend (not necessarily a recommendation).
• Noisy, elevator smelled like fish, parking not secured, star rating misleading.

“I feel that this hotel is not a four star hotel. Rooms were very basic with old fashioned decor (tacky polyester quilts), no air conditioning, no sound proofing, bathroom towels felt like sandpaper. There were a number of high school bands staying there and they were very noisy. Underground parking which I was charged for had no security gate. The elevators were very small, in very bad shape with filthy carpets and smelled like fish. Shouldn't a four-star hotel have a service elevator. I have stayed here just for good facilities. It's only redeeming quality for a tourist (and I am not one) would be that it is near most of Victoria's tourist attractions. I just stayed in a 2-star hotel in New York and had good facilities.”

• The bed was comfortable.
• It was just too noisy. The rooms were not soundproof and every time someone slammed a door the mirror on the wall shook.

“I would not stay here again as it is obviously a hotel that books sports teams. The kids were on the balcony screaming at other kids and when we went to bed at around 11:00 the kids were phoning our room and making rude comments. We finally took the phone off the hook and left it off all night. There was a huge soccer tournament in town and it seemed a good majority of the kids stayed at this hotel.”

“A great view of the harbor watching the sea planes come and go. Sea planes are fun to watch but noisy. They start up at about 7 am so if you like to sleep past that, beware. Sea gulls start up even earlier and are annoying. We didn't spend much time in the room and it was fine for our needs. I'd definitely come again if we came back with kids.”

• Everything ran smoothly from check-in to parking to ordering a drink in the lounge.
• I would have appreciated a bigger, more luxurious bathroom. It was too small for 2 people to brush their teeth.

“This is a clean, safe, well-situated basic hotel room with some nice amenities. We even had a peek-a-boo view of the harbor (higher floors would have a full view.) There were no nice little surprises that you sometimes find at hotels, but everything you need is provided. We would highly recommend this as an upscale 3, but don't expect luxury.”

• Good view, luxurious penthouse room, friendly staff.
• Restaurant bad, no auto bar which is strange for class of room.

“My wife and I stayed for one night in a two level corner penthouse with views of the water, Washington coast, and the parliament building. The room was quite luxurious, however, some features (such as a self service bar) were lacking that I found a little surprising. The hotel restaurant, while featuring an attractive high price menu, was not up to par with what I expected. Infect, the food was awful. Deserts and drinks were very nice, so I would limit your dining experience to this only and seek other nearby options.”

• Location, cleanliness, fitness centre, Internet connection.
• Decor is rather Spartan and unimaginative.

“I recommend this hotel if you are looking for a well-run and conveniently located 3.5-star hotel. The rooms and other facilities are clean, spacious and well-maintained. Each room is provided with a complementary high-speed wired Internet connection. The fitness centre is large and well equipped. The service and menu selection in the restaurant are both excellent. Finally, the staff was friendly and helpful. I have now stayed twice in this hotel, and I certainly plan to return as I am now a frequent visitor to Victoria.”

“Generally disappointed to go to what felt like a 2.5-3 star hotel named as a 4-star hotel. Room was relatively small, clean but it needs a Reno to update its look. The bedding was comfortable, but the bed seemed smaller than a Queen, which was what they told us we had.”

• The swimming pool was warm, good for a light swim, the sauna hot and clean, the whirlpool not too hot and clean and staff friendly.
• The entry had stairs which required us to pull our bags to the elevator - handicap friendly?

“The location was excellent. We were off the boat and to our hotel in a few minutes. The staff was friendly and checked us in quickly. We had breakfast in their restaurant. The menu was varied and fresh, delicious breads, well prepared. Check out was easy; they held our bags until our afternoon departure. Overall excellent.”

• The location of this hotel was excellent - close to the ferry and downtown. The lobby & bar were very nice. Staff was exceedingly helpful & friendly.
• Rooms were a little small.

“We had a nice room and thoroughly enjoyed the location of this hotel. We had friends over and met in the bar area for appetizers and drinks - it was so nice and very comfortable. The hotel was clean and the staff was very accommodating. Overall it was a good experience.”

“This hotel is ridiculously over-priced and irresponsible. I've visited their website and checked the pictures shown on the site, and I expected something grand and beautiful. The real thing turned out to be small and dark and snobbish with no nice furniture, considering it's a 4 star hotel. 2 bedroom suites, that means 2 bathrooms with showers right? Nope, there was only one tiny little bathroom with a shower. One of the rooms didn't even have a TV set in it; even motels have TV sets in every room. There were no toothbrushes provided, and when I asked for shower gel, they gave me shaving cream. I complained about it, the manager didn't even say sorry, but just told me that they couldn¿t help it. That¿s not how a 4 star should be like. It was worse than the 3 star ones in china. It deserves only at most 2.5 stars.”

• We asked to stay for a second night and they were very helpful.
• There was construction going on right outside our window. It wasn't loud, but not a scenic sight.

“All in all we were very happy with this hotel experience. The staff were extremely helpful and kind, and the location was excellent to all of the sights we wanted to visit.”

• Location.
• Subject of favored coffee in the room was brought up with the staff-----was told if I didn't like it to go to the restaurant.

“Overall the hotel staff was courteous. Was annoyed that my view was away from the harbor facing a construction site which started at &am each morning and that when I simply stated that not everyone liked flavored coffee in the room, was told that I should go to the restaurant While overall a nice Hotel for my experience it was overpriced.”
