• Great location, public spaces and view of room was great.
• Coffee maker was full of rust inside, bathroom fan covered with dirt and clean towels pressed against it, sheets stained and breakfast buffet was very stale.

• Loved that you can see the baseball diamond where the blue jays play from inside the hotel, cool restaurant too.
• Bathroom amenities quite bare, ex. shampoo etc.

“Great stay, awesome location, polite and helpful staff, hard to find entrance to hotel though! I enjoyed my stay but the hotel was not a 4* as indicated.”

• Comfortable beds.

“The hotel was nice with very friendly service staff. The room was very comfortable and clean. It was a bit loud in the morning, due to its proximity to the rail yard and it was not conveniently located near to public transit. Overall, a great stay.”

• Location.

“Staff gave us two double beds and even though we requested a king size bed. They said there were none available for the two days that we were there. The next day we talked to another manager and she said that king size rooms were available. In fact, there were many such rooms available as she gave us options as to which floor we wanted the room on. Were very disappointed in the people we talked to on first night who said right away that no king size rooms were available even without making any attempt to look for one.”

• Dinner was great. Room was nice.
• Late night dessert in the same restaurant was mediocre, poor service.

“Room and dinner were terrific, but our service for a later night dessert was terrible and the dessert was nothing special. The hotel is more than a half a mile from the subway, so a little inconvenient. Would like more choice in restaurant(s), only one in a four star hotel.”

• I liked the location and the friendly and helpful staff. The rooms were modern.
• Walking from the elevator around to our room felt like we were in a basement maze of an old abandoned jail.

“The staff was friendly and helpful and the location was great. It was a very short walk to shopping, transit, restaurants and entertainment. The room was small, but modern. The hotel itself (room included) seemed more than a little worn and dirty.”

• The location was okay. Not great, but okay.
• Any hotel charging for internet in this day and age is ridiculous.

“We stayed here for a birthday weekend celebration. The hotel is in an awkward place, right next door to the CN Tower. It's not the easiest place to walk to and it's pretty far from Yonge Street compared to other, superior hotels. Union Station is the nearest TTC stop and there's a covered walkway from the CN Tower to get there, which is nice. The room was comfortable. The bathroom was huge! Our room overlooked the train tracks, which can get noisy at night. I wouldn't care to stay here again. I would prefer to get a different hotel in the future.”

• The decor for Christmas.
• The staff was not very friendly and the hotel in general.

“The rooms are small. The furniture is outdated and the hallways needs upgrading. The friendliness of the staff is not great and the hotel is not close to downtown especially when you are a handicap person that has to walk for 10 minutes to a subway. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.”

• The location is very central.
• The room was small, decor was very outdated.

“The hotel is in a good location, however there is no parking available - you have to opt for valet as there is no lot. The views provided by the hotel are terrible. Our room looked out onto the railroad tracks and you could hear the go train go by every half hour or so. The room was comfortable, but not attractive. This isn't a bad hotel, I just don't think it's a 4 star hotel.”

• Location is right downtown.
• Staff was not very professional, not to the standard.

“Location is great; right on Front Street in the heart of Toronto. We stayed on a Sunday evening; there were few guests in the hotel (no game in the stadium). The staff did not seem particularly professional. I went to the ice machine on my floor; it was not working. I climbed the stairs to the next floor; again; ice machine not working. I phoned the front desk from the courtesy phone on the floor. The staff member suggested I try floors 3 and 4! I would have thought that the staff would automatically offer to bring the ice to my room! After climbing another floor; finding yet another broken ice machine, I returned to my room and called front desk. At that time, they offered to bring me some ice.”

• The location of the hotel is outstanding.
• Because the hotel is located within the Blue Jays stadium, the layout of the hotel requires a lengthy walk from the elevators.

“This hotel is centrally located near in downtown Toronto. It is walking distance to major attractions like the CN Tower and the lakefront area. During the summer, there are lots of festivals that one can reach in that area within walking distance. The hotel staff is courteous. Make sure to dine at their Arriba restaurant and take a good look at Blue Jays stadium.”

“I enjoyed my experience at the Renaissance. I liked the modern, clean design of the lobby, restaurant and room. The staff was friendly and accommodating, and the fitness facilities are excellent. The one negative aspect was the cost of the parking, much too expensive.”

• The people there were very nice and the beds were great.
• Couldn't swim in the pool due to poor air quality, and we had to walk so far to get to our room.

“If you are going to stay in this hotel a lot I wouldn't recommend it because the pool wasn't working and neither was the hot tub. The people were totally friendly which was nice. We had to walk a lot to get to our room, the elevators weren't close at all. But the beds were really comfortable!”

• The location is great, its right downtown within walking distance of just about everything.
• Parking is very confusing, as you have to park underneath the hotel/stadium.

“The hotel itself is in a great location of Toronto. It's right downtown within walking distance of just about everything. The rooms are very clean with comfortable beds and a very clean bathroom. The staff seemed kind of short with me when asked about directions and parking, but whatever, figuring stuff out is half the adventure of traveling. Its a great hotel, especially for the location.”

• Lighting in bathroom was very dim, and not bright.

“This is my second stay at this hotel and my spouse and friends have loved it. The rooms are very spacious and bed and cots are both comfortable. The lighting overall in the rooms are very dim, especially the bathroom. I believe the bathroom should have 2 options for lights, bright and dim, especially for guys that are shaving and for women applying their makeup. The location was great, close to many different restaurants in the downtown core and they were walking distance. The parking was a bit expensive but great that it has ins and out privileges but it would be better if the hotel could validate it for you. Overall, great weekend and I would stay here again.”
