• The room was spacious, pleasant, and clean.
• Overheated room/down-filled, duvet = hot for sleeping; very noisy in halls.

“Our aim was more romantic than sports/family-minded, hence, less appealing. However, the hotel's unpretentious quality has its allure. Down-to-earth hospitality. Good location for restaurants nearby. Fine for our visits to museums, galleries because we could come and go by car from the garage.”

• I loved the decor.
• The tub could have drained a bit better. Needed better lighting in the bath. No close up mirror.

• The pool area is in serious need of renovation.

• The room is well appointed; nice furniture, good bed, nice bathroom.
• Depending on what side of the hotel your room is located, you can be close to the train tracks and that is noisy.

“The Renaissance is conveniently located; the rooms are cleans, well furnished and the beds are comfortable. The breakfast restaurant in the main lobby serves good food and the staff is polite and professional.”

“Was not told we had to get parking pass validated at hotel. There is a sign in parking area but did not see same. This is something the hotel staff should make a point to verbally tell guests.”

• For Toronto, it was easy to get to.
• Bathroom lighting was too dark.

“Rooms are very comfortable. Nice, large room and bathroom, very comfortable bed and bedding. Hotel itself, lobby and hallways a little older and not what I would consider deluxe.”

• This is right in the center of everything, great staff.
• Old needs renovation of rooms.

“Great staff, great location, so much to do, we weren't in room much, I thought for price room could have been nicer. we stayed 3 nights, staff was very nice and helpful. I would definitely stay again. If you want updated and fancy this is not, but for location its a 10.”

“We had requested two rooms with two beds each. We got one room with one bed when we arrived at 5pm. After many trips to the deck, at about 11pm they gave us another room with one bed. They said the cleanup crew did not show up.”

“The bed was awesome. Our room was behind the elevator and there was a steady hum. The dead bolt on the door was broken. When I spoke to the desk clerk she did not write it down. I assumed she was already aware the dead bolt was broken. I do not like to sleep in hotel rooms with no dead bolt on the door.”

• The price.
• The rooms were tired with stained carpet and peeling wallpaper.

“The rooms need to be updated. There were large stains on the carpet everywhere and the room smelled unpleasant. The wallpaper was peeling off. The beds were very nice with crisp linen. The tub area needed to be recaulked, but the bathroom was otherwise okay with nice amenities. TV was old style CRT and didn't work when we arrived. The view was train tracks.”

• I liked the view from my hotel room and how they allowed us to have a late check out.
• Check in staff was very rude - however night staff was nice.

“Hotel is really nice, Not so romantic but nice to come back to after a night on the town. If you get a field view room you are able to see whats happening in the skydom (ex) watch a game, etc.”

• Great location, public spaces and view of room was great.
• Coffee maker was full of rust inside, bathroom fan covered with dirt and clean towels pressed against it, sheets stained and breakfast buffet was very stale.

• Loved that you can see the baseball diamond where the blue jays play from inside the hotel, cool restaurant too.
• Bathroom amenities quite bare, ex. shampoo etc.

• Comfortable beds.

“The hotel was nice with very friendly service staff. The room was very comfortable and clean. It was a bit loud in the morning, due to its proximity to the rail yard and it was not conveniently located near to public transit. Overall, a great stay.”

• Location.

“Staff gave us two double beds and even though we requested a king size bed. They said there were none available for the two days that we were there. The next day we talked to another manager and she said that king size rooms were available. In fact, there were many such rooms available as she gave us options as to which floor we wanted the room on. Were very disappointed in the people we talked to on first night who said right away that no king size rooms were available even without making any attempt to look for one.”

• Dinner was great. Room was nice.
• Late night dessert in the same restaurant was mediocre, poor service.

“Room and dinner were terrific, but our service for a later night dessert was terrible and the dessert was nothing special. The hotel is more than a half a mile from the subway, so a little inconvenient. Would like more choice in restaurant(s), only one in a four star hotel.”

• I liked the location and the friendly and helpful staff. The rooms were modern.
• Walking from the elevator around to our room felt like we were in a basement maze of an old abandoned jail.

“The staff was friendly and helpful and the location was great. It was a very short walk to shopping, transit, restaurants and entertainment. The room was small, but modern. The hotel itself (room included) seemed more than a little worn and dirty.”

• The location was okay. Not great, but okay.
• Any hotel charging for internet in this day and age is ridiculous.

“We stayed here for a birthday weekend celebration. The hotel is in an awkward place, right next door to the CN Tower. It's not the easiest place to walk to and it's pretty far from Yonge Street compared to other, superior hotels. Union Station is the nearest TTC stop and there's a covered walkway from the CN Tower to get there, which is nice. The room was comfortable. The bathroom was huge! Our room overlooked the train tracks, which can get noisy at night. I wouldn't care to stay here again. I would prefer to get a different hotel in the future.”

• The decor for Christmas.
• The staff was not very friendly and the hotel in general.

“The rooms are small. The furniture is outdated and the hallways needs upgrading. The friendliness of the staff is not great and the hotel is not close to downtown especially when you are a handicap person that has to walk for 10 minutes to a subway. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.”

• The location is very central.
• The room was small, decor was very outdated.

“The hotel is in a good location, however there is no parking available - you have to opt for valet as there is no lot. The views provided by the hotel are terrible. Our room looked out onto the railroad tracks and you could hear the go train go by every half hour or so. The room was comfortable, but not attractive. This isn't a bad hotel, I just don't think it's a 4 star hotel.”
