“I had given the wrong date of arrival by one day and the hotel would not honor the reservation and I had to go to another hotel. Not a good first time experience.”

• Ample and affordable parking facilities.
• The parking garage came out onto a back unknown street, hard to re-adjust your bearings.

• The guest room once inside was well appointed/small.

“This hotel was adequate. Not quite what you would expect for a Marriott, however. A lot of work in cosmetic features of the corridors are needed.”

• Very comfortable beds, good location.
• Very poor service at front desk, room not available at check-in time.

“I was soured on this hotel right from the time we arrived. Check-in was supposed to be at 3:00 pm. We arrived right before 3:00. Our room was not ready, the woman working at the front desk informed us that it would not be ready for 45 minutes. I inquired if check-in was supposed to be at 3:00 and my fiancé told her that we had a wedding to get to at 4:00. She became quite rude and short with us, informing us that several people had gotten there ahead of us. We had to change for the wedding in the bathroom in the hotel lobby. Many other guests were also waiting in the lobby for their rooms. Check-out from this hotel is not until 1:00 pm, clearly this does not leave enough time to ready the rooms for the next night's guests. We had been counting on checking in at the stated time, quite often hotel rooms are available early so we did not anticipate a problem. The rudeness of the front desk attendant made the situation even worse.”

“Hotel was fine but certainly not a 4 star hotel. The overview stated bathrobes were provided- they were not. Very small room. No extra roll away bed as stated in overview.”

• Excellent location for shopping, and next to TTC subway, very convenient!
• The lobby is kind of small, the check-in line up is very long, almost reaching the entrace of the hotel door.

• King size comfortable bed and two flat screen televisions.
• No swimming pool, steam room. Stains on the furniture.

“Overall good experience. Hotel staff were very friendly. Just a little bit disappointed that the hotel did not have a swimming pool or a steam room. I was a little bit surprised that an upscale hotel did not have these common amenities.”

• We liked the moderness to the design of each room and general areas as well as the convenience to shopping
• We didn't like the room we had in distance to the parking garage and outside access.

“Overall this was a good hotel to stay in if you are interested in shopping (on-site basement level), everything else as far as site seeing, we had to take a trolly or train. Everything was kept very clean and tidy and the staff was helpful for directions.”

“Easy check in, parking only cost us $10. Walked down to ACC which was quite a trek but hopped on the subway which was literally right outside of the door of the Marriott on the way home from Leafs game. Nice furnishings, comfy bed. Great late check out at 1 pm. No view out the windows but that was fine with us as we were only there to sleep. It was very quiet there.”

• The renovations of the room were nice.
• Horrible staff (rude and forgetful).

“The first night I stayed there was nice. The second night we asked to have some cutlery and plates sent up so we could eat our take out but they wanted to charge $3 for plastic cutlery! I thought that was a little ridiculous. The concierge at the desk in the lobby on the last day was so rude and disrespectful when we checked out. The room was very comfortable and clean; plus the bathrooms were very nice. But overall I would never want to stay in this hotel again.”

• Friendly staff, large, clean and comfortable room. Marriott beds are great!
• This Marriott has most of the ingredients of a 4 star hotel, but doesn't feel like a 4 star experience.

“The location is great for high end shopping or public transportation access, but at night seems deserted and off the beaten track. The rooms are large and the bed meets Marriott's high comfort standards, but small items like a variable shower head or magnified mirror or the reported terry guest robe. Perhaps I have been spoiled by my great experiences at the Eaton Centre Marriott and am now aware of what 4 star accommodations should be.”

• Spacious hallways and rooms.
• Bathtubs are not very deep - can't soak comfortably.

“The rooms are beautiful. The bedding is luxurious and comfortable. Value was incredible and I will tell everyone I know about it. I have friends from north of the City who like to come into Toronto to enjoy the nightlife without having to drive home. It's perfect for them as well!

• Easy access to subway and great location in Yorkville.
• The lobby not very welcoming neither was the staff also the elevator very slow and can be far from your room.

“This hotel is very well located in Yorkville the rooms are very spacious with very comfortable beds and bedding however the bathroom though very clean and modern it was a little cramp. Our room was quite far from the elevators which are all together in grouping and were quite slow.”

• Staff was very accommodating and knowledgeable.
• Would not consider this a 4 star hotel.

“Overall, our experience was good however I would not give the hotel 4 stars. The bathrooms have obviously been recently renovated and were quite nice. The bed was also newer and the linens were good quality. There were however several hard stains on the carpet and the rest of the room were dated. Also, the ceilings in the common corridors were so low that anyone 6'5" would have hit their head on the ceiling. I was happy with the price.”

• I was able to check in early.
• It's not the hotel itself, but the road construction right outside it.

“I have stayed at this hotel three times. The hotel is always immaculate, and the staff is very friendly. There is a Subway station next to the hotel. The area is excellent for shopping and dining. The location is quieter than other hotels closer to Eaton Centre.”

• The size of the rooms and the cleanliness of the hotel. The hotel staff was wonderful. Great service and a nice fitness center for the price.
• The hotel restaurant and room service was very expensive and not that good.

“The hotel is great for the price. Our room was always very clean and the hotel staff was very pleasant. The fitness center was better than most hotels I've stayed in and the locker room was pretty good also. My only complaint is the restaurant in the hotel and the room service. It's very expensive and the food is of poor quality. But the hotel is located in a great area for restaurants so we didn't sweat the one in the hotel. I would definitely stay here again.”

• Parking is tight, prone to accident.

“The room was spacious and the view was quite nice. We did not expect Marriott at Bloor would have such fine amenities; we were especially impressed with the fitness center. Highly recommend to any travelers to Toronto.”

• Maid service was very good! Patient, friendly with our kids.
• No hotel should be charging for internet connections these days.

“Excellent value for the money! Located on top of a TTC Subway station so getting around is easy. The public parking garage next door is more convenient (and cheaper) than hotel parking. The only thing missing is a pool!”

• No free breakfast, no pool.

“Beautiful, large rooms which are very clean. The bed was extremely comfortable. Staff is friendly and helpful. Parking was relatively inexpensive ($10 for 24 hours). Location is fairly convenient.”

“Nice hotel, very nice staff, good if you can stay for a good price. Not much for a romantic trip. TV was way to small 19" or less pretty pathetic. Bedding was very nice as was the bed.”
