• The hotel is upscale comfort in a magnificent location.
• Once the exercise facilities remodeling is completed and reopened, this hotel will be an excellent travel experience in every way.

“This is a comfortable and luxurious hotel in the centre of the Yorkville area of Toronto, conveniently located in the middle of upscale shopping and dining. The Royal Ontario Museum with the magnificent Crystal addition is just down the street, and for those with an interest in fashion and footwear, the one of a kind Bata Shoe Museum is a comfortable walk up the street. One does not even have to go outside to get to the TTC Subway which makes the rest of Toronto easily accessible and the entertainment district only a couple of minutes away.”

• I loved the location - so convenient and the staff was incredible at offering up places to eat and how to get places. Super helpful.
• I did not like that they didn't have internet for less that $13 for the day.

“The Marriott Yorkville went beyond my expectations for a 3 star hotel. The location is fantastic for someone looking to spend a weekend shopping and enjoying Toronto. It was close to great shops and fantastic restaurants. The Subway is right there in the hotel which makes it fantastic so you could hop on and go right downtown. The rooms are great and the bed was the most comfortable bed I've ever slept in. I did not want to leave. Thank you to the staff who were super friendly and helpful!”

• Central location for good shopping, parking was inexpensive, nice restaurant.
• The view from some rooms was poor, a bit of a walk to right downtown, no pool or hot tubs.

“Was above our expectations, parking onsite was affordable on the weekend. Room was nice and staff was helpful, very nicely redone. Restaurant was excellent but was very expensive. There is no pool or spas. Good central area for shopping but is a bit of a walk to the downtown core and waterfront, e.g. CN, eatons center etc.”

• The hotel was literally on the Subway line and that made it easy to get to our event and see different parts of the city.
• For a 4.5 star hotel, it didn't seem spectacular in decor.

“My husband and I were celebrating our 10th anniversary and we surfed for a 4.5 to 5 star hotel for the evening. I had expected more from the decor for such a high rating, but in the end, the room was nice and the king-sized bed was very comfortable. The air-conditioning was turned on full blast when we walked in, much to my husband's delight. We were able to take the Subway down to the Sky Dome and we decided to walk back for some exercise. The location was great for us since we were roaming the city. The concierge was kind enough to suggest a few bars (that didn't quite fit our age bracket), but the service was good overall.”

• The location and the cleanliness.
• It was bare basic. The health club was closed and there were not airport shuttles.

“This was a typical cookie-cutter Marriott - nothing more, nothing less. This was in no way anywhere near the four-star rating hotel. I'd give it 2.5 at most. Some of the amenities promised were not delivered (e.g., no health club, no airport shuttle service, etc.). The room was clean and the staff was pleasant. The location was superb, though.”

• The rooms were spacious and laid out nicely.
• The lobby was small and seemed a bit cramped. It was long and narrow so the perception was that it was small.

“The location was quite nice being in Yorkville and close to many restaurants. The front desk staff was very nice. Fortunately, when we checked in, the did accommodate our request and we had two beds. We were happy with the room.”

• No wireless in room. Terrible view. Very long walk from elevator to room.

“This hotel has good rooms, and is well located in the Yorkville-Bloor area. Downsides are: the sprawling layout so that rooms are far from the elevator; wireless internet in the room is expected nowadays from a 4-star; the view from the courtyard rooms is ugly and depressing.”

“The hotel is conveniently located at Boor and Yonge, so getting to and from the hotel via the Subway system is easy. Despite the mall below the hotel and construction outside, the hotel was quiet. My room was spacious and very clean; with a comfortable bed and a great bathroom (a bigger TV would have been nice, though).”

• The beds were very comfortable and the rooms were nicely decorated.
• They did not check one of our guests in who was late, even though they had the information. She was kept waiting for an hour and a half.

• I had a very frustrating experience with people at the reservation desk when I called from Ottawa #16.

“Asked for room with 2 queen size bed. We were 3 to travel and they told me that we could only have 2 per room. The hotel had only 1 king size or 2 double. It created frustration and felt employees were not helpful.”

• The room that I received was messy, and not done.

“I did not like this hotel, the location was inconvenient, also when I went into the room it was not clean, pillows were on the floor, bed sheets on the floor. It was terrible. Also the hot water kept going on and off. It was the worst experience I have had with a hotel.”

• Great location, usual Marriott high standards.
• For a four star, no pool, hot tub and fairly small workout area.

“The Marriott Bloor Yorkville lived up to what's expected from Marriott. Fast, friendly check-in and out, the most comfortable beds (having stayed now in numerous Hyatt's, Star wood properties and Marriott's, Marriott wins with it's revive beds) and a very spacious room for downtown to. Overall, no complaints other than we missed a bit having a pool but If the hotel was designed that way, not much Marriott can do about it, as this wasn't originally built as a Marriott.”
