• General cleanliness lacking, eating utensils behind nightstand, dirty/stained, comforter, strange room odor.

“Over all the hotel was very nice. All public areas updated. Large hotel with many meeting/banquet facilities. Our room seemed small, and considering the hotel chain and price we expected a cleaner/fresher room. Needed a good dusting, comforter needed washed or replaced, needs fresh wallpaper (stained). Some noise from outside (it is located on the main/busiest street) but did not keep us from sleeping. We would stay here again.”

• It was easy to find and the location was near the subway. My children enjoyed the pool and my husband and I enjoyed the workout facility.
• Parking was very expensive - loud air conditioners in rooms.

• Parking $25 a night horrible.

“Very friendly staff at front desk. Polite and easy to talk to. Quick check-in. Big clean lobby. King size bed was not the most comfortable, but pretty good. Pillows were nice. Room layout was very suited for a romantic weekend. Hotel is located on Yonge St., one block from a Subway stop, with a lot of great Restaurants and the Eaton Centre shopping within walking distance. We recommend the short walk to the Elephant and Castle Pub. Awesome! The parking for the hotel is at $25 a night. We parked right across the street for $16 for two nights in a public lot.”

• Comfortable beds, spacious rooms, and helpful staff.
• Pool and hot tub hours were not very accommodating and then they were closed for maintenance on Sunday morning.

“Overall, this was a good hotel in a good location. It was at the start of the shopping district and a block from a Subway station. I would definitely stay here again; I just hope I get a chance to go in the hot tub!”

• It is conveniently located close to everything Toronto has to offer.
• The fees for parking, but I guess that is Toronto.

• Pool was very old, hot tub was broken, expensive parking.

“Overall, I was very impressed with the quality of this hotel. We were treated as important customers by every single person that worked there. Very clean environment with a simple but classy atmosphere. I would stay there again.”

“The hotel was great. It was comfortable and the staff was friendly. It was conveniently located and we were able to walk all over Toronto with ease. It was a great place to visit and the accommodations were wonderful. The parking was pretty expensive but we kept our car in the parking lot right next door. The only problem was you had to go back frequently and reinsert money in the parking machines.”

• My experience with this hotel was very poor service.
• I do not have the hand sink located in the bathroom, which was very inconvenient. I expected to have a bar fridge in my room and did not have one.

• It was clear that they were trying to live up to rating.
• The entrance/exit could be inconvenient.

“We were pleasantly surprised at the quality of the hotel for the price. We were glad. The only unpleasant experience was a 2:30 am fire alarm that caused us to have to descend 17 flights of stairs after just waking up. We thought the staff could have been more informative when we reached the lobby. But otherwise we had a good experience.”

• The people who gave us advice as to restaurants and entertainment were right on.
• The concierge gave us misinformation.

“Our room was roomy and pleasant for three people. We wished that the ice machine was in working order, but it was not. We liked our stay and thought that the desk staff was particularly helpful in planning dinner and entertainment.”

“This hotel is located at Downtown Toronto. There's a public parking lot right across the hotel, but I also had to pay $15 for 18 hours. No free parking. And I was surprised that the breakfast was not included. I was going to leave the room in the morning, but after I checked at hotel front about breakfast, I had to leave the hotel and find a place for breakfast. Nobody told me about this. Nevertheless, this hotel was clean, quiet, enough spacious, and at great location.”

• The work out room is not open 24 hours a day.

• It was comfortable and clean.
• It was very noisy - not just from the outside traffic noise, but from patrons inside.

“The hotel is well-situated, just off the main thoroughfare. We did not eat in the restaurant, but it did look clean and comfortable. Our main problem was with the noise level. Also, the hotel offered free wireless internet, but it was not working!”

• Location, comfort, amenities nearby (shopping, restaurants, public transportation, etc).
• Little things that were not attended to made the hotel less attractive to me.

“I liked this hotel very much. The location is great, the staff at the desk was friendly and cooperative, and the hotel was a good value for the money. However, there were little things that were wrong with the room, such as the telephone by the bed not working properly (I had to jiggle a wire to make sure I had a dial tone), housekeeping oversights such as leaving me one washcloth in the room or not leaving a filter pack of coffee so I could enjoy it in the room, and the fan on the heater/cooling unit not working properly, that really detracted from my stay. That being said, when I reported those things at the end of my stay to the person at the desk who checked me out, she said she would have my concerns looked into. I would definitely stay at that hotel again because I sincerely believe they are interested in their guests having the best experience possible there.”

• Free high speed internet.
• Noisy guests on same floor woke us up several times at night.

“Hotel is quite nice, clean, and comfortable. My main complaint is with noisy guests on the same floor; may be it has to do with a lower floor (I was on the 2nd floor). Parking is not cheap (valet for $30/day, self-parking for $25). Free high-speed internet is quite nice.”
