• Excellent hotel staff, nice view, nice room.
• Had to be relocated to a room not next to the elevator, could hear everything that went on in the halls parking was too expensive.

“Beautiful building with excellent staff. Nice room with LCD TV and a nice view. Parking was outrages at 40 a day. The pool was nice to have but wasn't as nice as it looks in pictures. Great place if you can get the right price.”

• Very gracious and helpful front desk personnel.
• Greeter/valet at front door (upon leaving hotel) was friendly and polite to some and the opposite to others.

“Everyone has different needs and therefore standards, however I found this to be a very pleasant stay.”

• The location, the luxury of the hotel - gardens and pool.
• The maids would wake us up at 8:30 every morning.

“The hotel was great, ideally located and beautiful. It is quite luxurious. The landscaping is amazing for a hotel in the middle of the city. The pool was beautiful.”

“I would not choose to stay here again. The location was good for us, but it just doesn't compare with other hotels of this rating. They simply are not customer-focused. Long lines at check-in. Concierge unhelpful when seeking recommendation for casual place to eat with our children and not knowledgeable about the offerings near the hotel. There's a customer service button on the room phones, but no one ever answers. I tried to get extra blankets for the room (I've never been in a hotel room that doesn't have an extra blanket and pillow); they were obviously overwhelmed and it took much longer than it should have. It's a big, busy place with not much in the way of charm.”

“The hotel was very nice but no bar fridge or microwave in room and only paper cups for coffee. I prefer real coffee mugs. The hotel had Valet parking only and it was very expensive.”

• It was classy.
• Small beds, double beds. I thought it would have been queens. My mistake.

“Great times. It was my bachelorette party. Front desk dropped off a fresh basket of fruit for us. Sweet! Especially for the next morning. We sure enjoyed it!”

“It is an excellent hotel, with a gorgeous interior and in a prime location right in the heart of downtown Toronto. The hotel is extremely overpriced however when it comes to incidentals. Parking is pricy at about $12-20/day, but that is somewhat to be expected as it is in a large downtown area. The worst part is being charged $20/day for wireless internet and a whopping $2 just to make a local outgoing call. You're better off going downstairs to a pay phone! Other than that, the service was great and everything else about the hotel was phenomenal.”

“First room had dirty sheets, but they quickly moved us a gave us free breakfast. Staff was very friendly. Ideal location in Downtown Toronto - very central! Food and parking were a little pricey, but this was expected given the hotel's location. Didn't need a car to access anything in Downtown - only minutes from Subway (as an indoor walk). Lots of restaurants and entertainment within a few minutes walk. Could access Eaton Centre without even going outside!”

“We called the front desk to switch the 2nd room to non-smoking. We were told that someone was coming to come up and give us a key to a new room. We waited 20 mins. and no one showed up. We ended up going down to the front desk to get the key.”

• It was beautiful. They had a waterfall at the centre of the lobby. It was close to the Eaton's Centre and the Entertainment District.
• The restaurants were over priced in my opinion. $16 for pancakes, $20 for 2 eggs, and bacon.

“Great staff, very efficient and it took no time, what so ever, to get us checked in and out. They had everything you could want. Internet area, Starbucks coffee, shopping within the hotel, restaurants, a great pool area, workout centre etc. It caters to many peoples interests.”

• The staff was very helpful and friendly. They co-operated with all our needs.
• Everything was well just some of their old equipment hindered the modern look.

“Sheraton has been recently renovated and the rooms are nice, peaceful and comfortable. Don't expect anything extra for your money: parking $40/night, internet $15/day, gym $9/day. For a hotel of this caliber and price, internet and gym should be included.”

• Pool and fitness room were very nice.
• Parking fee $40/day. A/C did not work in room.

“This Sheraton is very nice, clean and a bit posh. Parking is extremely expensive $40/day. The pool and fitness club were very enjoyable. The rooms were moderate size but the A/C did not work properly and after calling the front desk, the serviceman only opened a window so we could hear the busy T.O. traffic and sirens from the streets all night long.”

“The hotel was in the best location, close to restaurants, shopping, and entertainment. We were able to walk everywhere. They were also pet friendly, so I was able to bring my Chihuahua. There is a part across the street too, which was great for the dog. Friendly staff, clean and spacious room. Very nice lobby. Would definitely stay there again.”

• Great decor, clean, grand entrance, very comfortable beds and bathroom facilities in rooms. Easy transportation access.
• Restaurant was very expensive for meals.

“This is a great hotel. Very grand, nicely decorated and a warm feeling. Staff was very helpful and efficient. The rooms were very clean and comfortable with big screen TV. Only downside is prepared to pay for internet service and the hotel restaurant is very expensive. Overall it was great value. I recommend it.”

“Overall our experience at the Sheraton Toronto definitely met our expectations. We wanted to be located close to shopping, the theater district, and upscale restaurants and this hotel was an excellent choice for our needs.”

• Location was exactly where we wanted.
• Room given to us on arrival was not what we were told we were getting.

“We did that and were told we were getting a room with 2 beds. However, on arrival, we were given a hospitality suite - no bedroom and only pull-out couches. We were very disappointed, because we love sleeping in Sheridan beds - not pull-outs. However, the Sheridan accommodated us on the second night by giving us a room with a bed.”

• No airport shuttle.

“The room was great. The indoor-outdoor pool is not something you see everywhere. When I called the said they had an airport shuttle but it turned out that it was an $18 bus that stops at all the Downtown hotels. (That's $36 for two people one way. You can take a taxi for $40.) Hotel staff was great other than the whole shuttle business.”

• Hotel was user friendly. As a business traveler it had all of the amenities required internet, gym, pool and meeting facilities.
• I found it very expensive to eat there. I always went to outside restaurants to meet my needs.

“The hotel is conveniently located to all business and entertainment facilities. It is very spacious, well designed and well suited for business travelers. I would not recommend it for family travel as there is a user fee attached to every service and this would not be suited to a family as it is not economically friendly.”

“The Sheraton Downtown hotel very central to shopping, major attractions and can be easily found by a tourist. I was very happy with the hotel as a whole but found that our guest room seemed under construction.”

• Room doors slamming shut very loud.

“Found room lovely, lovely pool, service great and cleaning staff worked quietly and did not disturb us in morning. Found restaurants to be outrage sly expensive.$10.00 for bee,. wow! $18.00 for sandwich! We left hotel to find better food prices! Over all the stay was very pleasant.”

“Great hotel, but I found that their sister Four Points Sheraton provides more help for the business traveler without being charged outrageous amounts of money to use the phone or the internet in your room or park your car. $40/day parking, $16/day for internet. This disappointed me.”

• Excellent pool, great location, good elevators.
• Rooms small for 4 star, very small bathroom sink area, parking $40.

“I was told parking was $40, but $20 at City Hall next door with underground connection. However, you lose in/out at City hall and it can cost the same. City Hall cheaper on weekends though. On arrival, there are 15 places for the front desk to help, and one person. I had to wait and often noticed a line. The top floor lounge was under renovation and so this was on the 2nd floor, no windows. The room I felt was small and could be renovated. The bathroom and specifically the sink area were very small. I complained and was toll the rooms were all the same size but could have an upgrade to a junior suite or they would waive the $40 but I keep the club privileges. I chose the latter as the washroom was no different and it would be a queen bed. I also received a nice note with wine and a fruit and cheese plate. Great pool area and excellent location though.”

• Overall staff courtesy given what they have to work with - meals, found toy etc.
• Dislike whomever's decision it was not to already turn on AC.

“Mid April been in the teen degrees of heat for a couple days AC is not yet turned on as its only been hot for a couple days and could turn cold. The lobby's and hallways and meeting rooms and restaurants seem fine food is excellent. In any case, it fluctuated between 25 degrees and 28 degrees C in the room. Fan, they gave us squeezed on and off. So all bearable and perhaps should have pursued more right? Unless you have young kids with you they don't know what's going on and cannot sleep can't blame them. This coupled with our three year old finding a tylenol pill and 1/2 empty shampoo bottle on the floor first customer service person gave us some points for the inconvenience and there was a piece of kleenex stuck in the peep hole of the door much street noise the central vent in the wall extremely noisy (in between the squeeks of the fan supplied). I've stayed in many other hotels for less and not had this trouble even in other countries the hotel was sold out due to a convention so no real options.”

• Costs: Fitness Center, Wireless, Breakfast.

“The room was clean, the bed fantastic, the washrooms need an upgrade, wireless service was expensive and intermittent and breakfast costs were exorbitant. In that way it wouldn't be family friendly. They also charged for use of the pool and fitness center according to a sign I saw.”
