• The room was very clean and the staff is friendly. It is located in an excellent location with a great view of the harbor.
• The room was too small.

• The location of the hotel is excellent. The room is great.
• Service Express (Tel service) some times they ignore you requests and even don't answer at all.

“An excellent hotel in a beautiful location, close to many Toronto attractions. The room view is beautiful. However, It would be my favorite hotel in Toronto if they had a good room service.”

• Very nice clean rooms/ piano bar with food open until late/very nice 360 panoramic view restaurant.
• Breakfast restaurant is too expensive for low eaters and expensive parking space.

“Located in a very easy too walk area, easy access to Subway, and taxi cabs. Very nice remodeled room with a plasma TV and beautiful view of lake. You have to check out the restaurant on the top floor in the north wing, beautiful 360 View. Always ask how much they will charge. I could get the tickets on the internet. Hope this helps.”

• The rooms are so comfortable and nicely decorated. Top quality hotel!
• No free wireless access in rooms.

“I stayed at this hotel with my husband in a connecting room with my sister and her husband. This hotel exceeded our expectations in comfort and quality in every way. We had a beautiful view of the water (side of the hotel has a partial view of the islands, the big lake and the city!). The room darkening blinds are wonderful as the sun shines directly in that side in the morning. Great place to stay as far as location - we really enjoyed being on the harbor front and took advantage of running along the harbor area as well as taking the ferry to the Islands one day. Very convenient to the Subway too! The staff was very helpful and friendly.”

• One day no face cloths or hand towels were left. Another day no face cloths or bath mats were left.

“At the price we thought the room would be of a lesser quality than the rest of the hotel. We were thrilled with our room- king-size bed, 30th floor, Lakeview. We don't know how it could have been any better.”

• Excellent view of lake Ontario, close to royal Alexandria theater, nice pool and exercise room and many nice restaurants in walking distance.
• No bad experiences, my wife loved it as did our friends who I also booked rooms for.

“The Westin Harbor Castle is a fantastic hotel. It is in a great location right on Lake Ontario. The rooms are large and very clean. (loved the LCD TV's). The restaurant has world class cuisine. Everything we wanted to do was within walking distance. Highly recommended.”

“Check in was a little slow, but friendly, room was ok, did not like the coffee machine too much, also missed fridge. Pool was not to clean and full of toys, and valet parking is pricey and the valet was a smoker and left the car smelling. It is a smoke free hotel.”

• The view was of the sugar factory.

• Very clean and comfortable rooms. Staff was available and able to answer our questions.
• Feeling rushed to give up our car to valet. Not having access to our vehicle.

“The hotel was clean, pretty and comfortable. We were very happy with our room. The location was good and closes enough to Rogers Center so that we could walk to the baseball game. I felt rushed when we were getting out of our car and unpacking our bags. We have four young children and naturally forgot some of our things in the car. We asked the hotel staff for access to our car and they reported that they could not allow us access, that they could retrieve whatever we needed out of our vehicle. I was not comfortable with that situation and was bothered by not being able to retrieve my own things from my car. Other than that, the hotel was very nice, but not terribly family friendly.”

• Friendly staff, clean, well-maintained rooms, and facilities.
• Forced to use valet parking, as regular parking is 2 blocks away from hotel.

“Lovely hotel, good location. The room was very nice, clean, with a flat screen TV. We had a fine view of the lake. The staff were very friendly and efficient. On Easter Sunday, they had an Easter egg hut for the kids, which was a really fun idea. Though, the heating system in the room was noisy. I also thought that they could have given us advanced notice that they had planned to shut off the hot water on several floors on Easter Monday. Although they provided alternatives to take your shower on another floor, the message was left on the phone overnight while we were sleeping. It would have been nice to have known this on Sunday evening at the latest.”

• Did not mention anywhere that local calls cost $2- each!

• The beds, the pillows, the view.
• Being surrounded by "bouncers" when we went to the top restaurant. They were polite but a bit over the top. We only wanted to use the scenic lift!

“Walking to it at night was a little bit scary on the first night as it is kind of isolated however no problem once used to it. The hotel staff was great , the recreation facilities were great and I particularly liked the room. The fire alarm went off in the middle of the night which was an adventure and to be honest the alarm could have been a bit louder to get my attention immediately. Wished I wasn't on the 21st floor that night! Over all I had a wonderful time there.”

• I liked that it seems classy so it fits into a romantic weekend.
• Not to the hotels fault, but someone pulled the fire alarm at 1 AM and it took some time to solve the issue.

• The location to restaurants and attractions is not ideal.

“Our check in was hassle free; we were booked in for a double bedded room, but the front desk clerk had no issue switching us to a king bed room. The room was fantastic! Big plasma TV. lovely bathroom and very comfortable bed.”

• Very helpful staff. Wonderful showers. Nice view of Toronto Island.
• Having to pay for use of computers in business room.

“Was very well pleased with the service at the Westin, and with the little extras which they provided. The room was very comfortable, with excellent lighting, which is a rarity in many hotels! Loved the double-headed shower. My only disappointment had to pay for usage of the computers in the business room. All in all, a great stay!”

• Fantastic pool and spa area.
• Though the surrounding area is scenic, there's not much going on for a few blocks.

“A wonderful hotel with an excellent pool and spa area, good choice of dinning, and fantastic views. An easy 5 minute walk from the major train station really makes this hotel more than convenient. I highly recommend staying there.”

• EVERYTHING was amazing at the Westin.
• The prices at the restaurant were a bit expensive, so we didn't eat there.

“This is by far the best hotel I have ever stayed at. The Staff was beyond friendly and helpful. The room was enormous and had a fantastic view. It is right in Downtown Toronto, in the middle of everything.”

• Our room had a great view of the city and lake.
• The food in the main floor restaurant was very forgettable and expensive for the quality that we got.

“The Westin Harbor Castle has a great location on lake Ontario. The lobby is very beautiful and luxurious looking. Our room on the pent house floor was quite nice although it had some woodwork areas around the window that needed maintenance. Entertainment wise there was nothing really happening at the hotel and they need to improve in this area. (E.g. a bar with a good band instead of one man playing a piano in there open area bar).”

• Rooms beautifully appointed even a chaise lounge by the window which overlooked harbor.
• Self parking a good 2.5 blocks away. Valet package pushed by valets! Was not told the package was off site in telephone inquiry re parking.

“Will go back. Convenient for waterfront activities. Very clean and well maintained. Linens crisp and fresh. Pool area wonderful. Staff friendly and helpful.”

• TV was a flat screen. Showerhead was powerful. Room was clean.

“Westin Harbor Castle great location in Downtown Toronto. Close to shopping, theatre, restaurants and sports venues. Lounge has a nice late night menu for snacking. One inconvenience is that you must use the valet parking although there is an outdoor lot a few blocks away (and $13 cheaper) the valet parking is covered which is great for winter travelers. If flying in to Toronto and staying at the Harbor Castle, try to land on the island. If taking the train you are within walking distance of the hotel.”

• The staff was very friendly and accommodating. We received a free upgrade to lake view room.
• The valet service seems much disorganized. We called down at least 20 minutes ahead to have our car ready but they failed to do so when we arrived.

“This hotel has great service with the exception of the valet. The staff was very friendly and service was prompt except for the valet. The rooms are newly renovated and very clean. The location is a bit of a walk from centre of Downtown. It is a great location for business travelers as it is near the financial district and it is also great for those arriving at Union Station or those attending functions at the Sony Centre for Performing Arts, Air Canada Centre, Metro Toronto Convention Centre or the Rogers Centre. Overall this is a great hotel.”

• The overall facilities were attractive & clean. The pool was very clean comfortable temperature, change rooms were clean and the location was excellent.
• The parking was limited and access was congested.

• Food terrible. Paper cup coffee service. Poor selection of tea. Noisy ventilation.

• Very convenient and nice atmosphere. The Toula restaurant was amazing!
• Just before we left a guest kept pulling the fire alarm, however, it isn't really the hotel's fault.

• Gym was small and crowded, valet $30 a day.

• The staff was very friendly and helpful and the location was fantastic for Downtown travel.
• The Spa was overpriced. Other spas in Toronto offer the same service for less.

“We had a great stay at this hotel. We were upgraded to a king sized room, but this is done on a first come first served basis only. We called ahead to reserve a king/queen room, but they only put us on a 'waiting list'. When we arrived they had no notification of our request, but were able to find us a room after we complained about the double bed room again.”

“I went to Toronto to celebrate my 40th birthday and thought was very disappointed/deceived since we thought staying at a Westin was going to be like the ones we have stayed before like Westin Diplomat Florida. We were given a room on the floor nobody wants and also we didn't get a full harbor view. Our room had a leak.”

• The comfort afforded travelers in the room and the conveniences of front desk aid and valet parking.
• The valets expectation of tips. One was perturbed that I didnt tip and shut the car door on my arm.

“Excellent except for the incident of having the door shut and hurting my arm as a result of it. The valet was perturbed that I chose not to tip.”

• Hard to find parking and lot of drunken people in the lobby.

“Overall, the hotel quality was good. I loved the cleanliness, comfort. But the lobby area was very open to public and there were drunken people everywhere. I wish there was a designated area for party.”
