“I was a little disappointed with this hotel. The cleanliness was not at the standard I would've expect from a 4 star hotel. The furniture was dirty and the chairs were stained, the room had a foul smell. There were no vending machines to be found, we had to walk 4 blocks for a soda. The only parking option was valet and that was $30, disappointing. The only good thing was view from the room was magnificent! I don't think I would stay at this hotel again.” Sep 26, 2006 by
Rita from Edmonton, AB CA
“The friendly and helpful staff were a delight to deal with. Hotel location is excellent. High quality of accommodation and excellent restaurants made this a must for any traveler.” Sep 25, 2006 by
Anil S. from Rochester Hills, MI
“Overall the amenities in the hotel are good. The negative aspect for me personally is that there are no smoking rooms in the hotel. I am a smoker and it really does not work for me. I am a frequent user of your web-site, in fact every week. I would prefer another hotel which provide a smoking room.” Sep 21, 2006 by
Karen from Lakefield, ON CA
“The hotel is a beautiful hotel, nice view, courteous staff, but unfortunately getting into the hotel is a little bit confusing.” Sep 21, 2006 by
Amy from Redmond, WA
“Very nice hotel in the heart of Toronto, with nice views of the lake. Nice room features, and very friendly and helpful staff make this a great choice. Be aware of high dining prices, and expensive parking.” Sep 21, 2006 by
Doug from Lyndhurst, ON CA
“Clean, busy, safe, great views from some rooms - but too far away from the downtown business district to work as a regular hotel for me. ” Sep 20, 2006 by
Lee from Wayne, PA
“Excellent hotel in every category. Very romantic.” Sep 18, 2006 by
Clay from Winnipeg, MB CA
“The hotel represented very good quality for the price compared to other similar hotels in Toronto. It was completely booked when we were there since the Film Festival was on. Staff were very helpful. We had a room on the 24th floor with a view of the lake, as well as the CN Tower. Although the location would seem ideal, it was a fairly lengthy walk to restaurants, theaters, and shopping - including walking under the overpasses. Overall it was a positive experience and the price was very good.” Sep 18, 2006 by
Greg from Danville, CA
“This is a first rate facility, with beautiful guest rooms, a lovely lobby area, and a first-rate ambiance I intend to stay here again for future trips to Toronto.” Sep 18, 2006 by
Raj from Ottawa, ON CA
“A mediocre 4 star hotel. The bed was not heavenly, the room's TV remote functioned poorly, the hotel blocked out a local community station with its own marketing channel. That said, it did have a very good view of Toronto harbor Overall, a mixed review. There are better options in Toronto.” Sep 16, 2006 by
Dawn from Baltimore, MD
“I didn't know if that meant that we would be on a particular floor level, etc. What it meant was that we were in a room which was neat, but needed updating as the wallpaper was peeling in a part of the room, and the bed was a rather stiff mattress, and a full sized bed, rather than a king bed which we had reserved. It also did not have one of the heavenly beds that are typical of other Westin's I've stayed in.” Sep 16, 2006 by
Robin from Manor, TX
“Name your own price will be my program from now on! I stayed in this beautiful, luxurious 4 start hotel for $92/night which is what I would have paid to stay further away from where I wanted to be in a moderate hotel. It was convenient to everything and the rooms were magnificent! Highly recommend, just bring your wallet if you eat or drink in the hotel.” Sep 15, 2006 by
Betty from Gulfport, MS
“This hotel is situated in a prime location right at the harbor and is within easy access to public transportation. In fact, the on-and-off trolley tour stop right in front of the hotel. Walk a few blocks and there are harbor tours and the main bus/train stations. Everything was first class, so be prepared for pricey meals and drinks and $20 a night valet parking. The view from the top floor restaurant was spectacular and well worth the price of a drink. The meal I had however was not a good value for the money, so I suggest you skip the meal and enjoy a drink and the view.” Sep 14, 2006 by
Robyn from Corbyville, ON CA
“Beautifully appointed hotel (especially in the newly renovated North Tower) Close to all the cool stuff in downtown Toronto.” Sep 14, 2006 by
Vickie from Merritt Island, FL
“Nice location, easy to find. friendly staff, good view. dated, older hotel. Bed too low, mattress uncomfortable, bottom sheet rough. Room cramped. Not enough drawer or closet space, with ironing board up could not come and go to the bathroom.” Sep 13, 2006 by
S from Irvine, CA
“Overall it was a good deal.” Sep 13, 2006 by
Tom from Marysville, MI
“The hotel was fine. The Westin and soon Marriott are no smoking chains. I will not risk being put in a no smoking hotel again.” Sep 12, 2006 by
Anita from Ontario, CA
“I received an awesome price for this hotel. Considering, 2 or 3 star hotels in the same area were going for about $100.00/night. It's a very nice hotel overlooking the harbor. I liked the proximity to the Eaton Center and Younge street (we walked there one night). I also hear there was a huge nightclub 2 blocks away. (although I didn't get a chance to go). There was a small grocery store right in front of the hotel that was very convenient for bagels/breakfast in the morning. The beds were very comfortable. Parking was horrible. There was no parking nearby or on the street so really the only option for us was to park valet and it was $30.00 a night! On top of that, the valet folks were not very friendly (maybe because I didn't have enough money left over to give them a generous tip!). Overall, I would recommend this hotel (mainly because of the great price) to anyone visiting Toronto.” Sep 12, 2006 by
Doug from Lyndhurst, ON CA
“It's a fine hotel that charges for everything. No freebies of any kind - Internet is extra - though you do have a very early morning coffee shop available that serves cappuccino.” Sep 10, 2006 by
Mike from Chicago, IL
“Room is very comfortable. Service is prompt and accommodating. Facilities are well outfitted and clean. Parking is somewhat expensive but can walk or cab to all downtown.” Sep 10, 2006 by
Nathan from Deseronto, ON CA
“This hotel has an excellent location and the view of the harbor and lake from our room was excellent (though the windows needed to be cleaned). The staff were friendly and kind. The exterior of the hotel shows its age and the room we had was also due for renovation. The bed was very comfortable. The room temperature was a little tricky to control.” Sep 7, 2006 by
Minh from Prior Lake, MN
“Overall ok impression.” Sep 7, 2006 by
Andrew from San Francisco, CA
“My room on the 26th floor had a great view of the lake and the CN Tower, The room was spacious, had a queen bed, a couch, a table, coffee table, and good size bathroom. Used the pool and sauna in evening, so did not have to use the shower in my room. I liked that the hotel was away from the downtown area, since it gave me a chance to relax. You can eat a good cheap breakfast/ lunch across the street from the hotel for $5 and there is a market where you can get food. They don't want you to put anything in the refrigerator in your room but if you get a few drinks and a sandwich, it will save you a great deal of money. I also brought along a number of packages of cookies to have as snacks which was a great idea because if you use anything from the room fridge, it will cost you a lot, so don't be tempted. The rate I got was great for the quality and service of the hotel. Staying at a Westin without using outside services could be excessive. The pool and sauna on the fifth floor was great as a place to relax. There were a lot of kids and families. I was by myself. If you like to swim, make sure you bring some goggles along with you. If you are going to go to the islands, the ferry terminal is just downstairs. If you are going to take a train trip to Niagara Falls, Union Station is in walking distance. Taking the train is a great idea, again, if you want to save some money. The tours can cost about $100.00 or more. You can get a bus from the train station to downtown for about $3. This will also take you to all the places you would want to go to and bring you back to the train station. When you get back from your visit, you can walk back to the Westin.” Sep 6, 2006 by
Kevin from Springfield, VA
“If you are going to be in Toronto and want a no-nonsense first class hotel with all the bells and whistles, this is your place.” Sep 4, 2006 by
Brooke from Detroit, MI
“The Westin Harbor castle is my favorite place to stay in Toronto! It is located on the waterfront, a very short distance away from the busy heart of downtown but very near reliable subway. The hotel is beautifully elegant and clean with professional and friendly staff.” Sep 4, 2006 by
Edward from Port-Of-Spain, FL
“Class act.” Sep 2, 2006 by
Jay from Astoria, NY
“Great location with average rooms. Excellent hotel for business travelers but for vacationers, too many "additional" charges and very inconvenient parking.” Aug 29, 2006 by
Sharon from London, ON CA
“The hotel staff were courteous and helpful although the concierge staff were somewhat vague with a more complex request for directions. Our room was a good size and very inviting. We especially enjoyed the lovely view of the harbor!” Aug 24, 2006 by
Nancy from Berkeley Heights, NJ
“Very nice hotel with nice rooms and great location for walking to Rogers Stadium & ferry.” Aug 23, 2006 by
Richard from Barnstable, MA
“Modern well appointed hotel with excellent facilities. Liked the pool and exercise room.” Aug 23, 2006 by
Shawn from Rochester, NY
“Met or exceeded our expectations at every level. The only downside was the hotel was not on the subway line and valet parking was overpriced at $30 per day.” Aug 23, 2006 by
Mike from Boston, MA
“Overall, I was very pleased with the Westin. Great downtown location on the waterfront. The room was what I expected - modern, comfy. Nice touch with the plasma TVs. Here are my (constructive) criticisms:1. Shower water not quite hot enough.2. The hotel needs a more active social venue. By that I mean there was a hotel bar (with great bartenders), but there wasn't much activity. I'm not even single any more, but when I go to the bar to take the edge off, I expect to see people other than the bartenders there.3. The hotel is right on the waterfront, but you tend to forget it. The strength of this hotel is its location. I don't think it plays to its strengths much. Need more open views & venues that take advantage of the scenery. Just my 2 (Canadian) cents. Overall, I'd stay there again... but you definitely have to leave the hotel to enjoy yourself (for instance, when you're on a business trip).” Aug 22, 2006 by
Jelle from Indialantic, FL
“The staff was very friendly. We got a nice room with a harbor view. I think it was one of the 'non renovated' rooms, but still it was very nice, clean, large, quiet, and the view was great.” Aug 22, 2006 by
Chris from Toronto, ON CA
“The Westin Harbor Castle is ideally located in south downtown Toronto. It is right on the lake, over looking the inner harbor. Transportation is readily available including public transit, taxis, walking and cycling paths. The lobby and lounge is very classy and well maintained. The rooms are spacious, well lit and very clean. The basic room is more like a suite with a large bathroom, comfortable couch and coffee table, work desk, and excellent television. One can feel a ease entertaining clients and friends. The towels and bed linens are top quality. It feels like a 'real' holiday staying at the Westin!” Aug 21, 2006 by
Erika from Buffalo, NY
“Excellent hotel, great stay.” Aug 18, 2006 by
Gloria from San Francisco, CA
“beautiful 4 star hotel. walking distance to CN Tower. Lots of people walking around at the Harbor area. Area is safe, neighborhood safe.” Aug 17, 2006 by
Sean from Coquitlam, BC CA
“I was expecting better from what I'd heard about the hotel. We had a very nice view of the lake. The so called 'heavenly beds' were not so heavenly and I found someone else's hair in my bathtub. The staff was very friendly and helpful and the rest of the hotel was very clean. Location was great but I definitely would not have paid the asking price for this room. Overall our stay was satisfactory at best.” Aug 17, 2006 by
Wayne from Miami, FL
“Overall nice property.” Aug 17, 2006 by
Peter from Ames, IA
“One of the nicest rooms and best views I have had, Lots of room, good desk for working, nice gym and pool -- everything I wanted.” Aug 15, 2006 by
Katy from Dearborn, MI
“Beautiful hotel in a pretty good location. Our room had a view of the water and it was very nice. We thought that our room would have the heavenly bed. Not sure that it was. It was comfortable, but definitely not heavenly. I would recommend the hotel and stay there again. ” Aug 15, 2006 by
Kim from Miami, FL
“The hotel is in need of a make-over. Rooms are getting quite old, and the hallways are as well.” Aug 13, 2006 by
Simon from Windsor, ON CA
“The hotel's Self parking is $17/day and leave them to park is $30/day. Plan your next day trip well before got there because Internet costs around $10/day.” Aug 12, 2006 by
Nancy from Dublin, CA
“The Westin, being located at the harbor side, is a fair walk into the city. The very busy lobby and bar are both very dated in appearance. We stayed in one of their newly renovated rooms which were plush, clean and spacious. All staff were friendly and helpful. On the whole an enjoyable stay.” Aug 11, 2006 by
Brian from Roswell, GA
“Nice hotel. Completely non-smoking. Sneaking a cigarette was a challenge. Like all of the nicer Canadian hotels you will be charged for everything so add 70% to your room charge to get a more accurate estimate of your stay.” Aug 10, 2006 by
Johari from North Potomac, MD
“The Westin is at a great location right next to the ferry and boat tours to the island. There is a restaurant at the top of the hotel that overlooks the city and Lake Ontario. You can walk to downtown locations or to restaurants. There is a nice grocery store across the street. The bell hops, concierge, wait staff, and check in assistants were all very helpful. The business center even waived the charge for using the internet to check in for my flight home. The shower ran cold sometimes, I had problems with one bartender, and I do not think I should be charged $2.00 for local calls. Otherwise, it was a great stay. This is my second stay at The Westin for Caribbean weekend and I would choose the Westin again.” Aug 10, 2006 by
Carolyn from Roseville, MI
“The restaurants were a little expensive and they charged $30/day for valet parking without telling us. However they took the valet charge off our bill, so overall we're very happy with our experience.” Aug 10, 2006 by
Kim from Calgary, CA
“We were completely taken aback at this experience, as we had stayed at this hotel through a regular booking in the past and were pleased. We were originally given a room that was filthy and musty, but moved once we complained. The new room was modern in decor and quite nice, however even after repeated requests we did not receive towels (1 hand towel all weekend) and did not have our room cleaned until late (after 8pm) on the 2nd day. Not acceptable.” Aug 10, 2006 by
Brian from Lakewood, OH
“The lobby was magnificent and had all of the makings of a four star hotel. I was able to land this hotel for $100.00 a night when a regular rate was $300.00. What a deal. Until I got to the room. I don't even think it was worth $100.00 a night. The bed folded from the wall, the wallpaper was pealing off of the walls. The room seemed cheap and dirty. Not what I would expect from a 4 star hotel with regular rates of $300.00 a night.” Aug 9, 2006 by
Storm from Ypsilanti, MI
“Nice hotel. Location is better than I'd read in reviews. It's only 3 blocks from Front Street. The walk isn't threatening at all, even in the middle of the night, unless you grew up in Mayberry RFD or something.” Aug 9, 2006 by
Machonn from Philadelphia, PA
“This Hotel is located conveniently adjacent to yonge St., the heart of activity in Toronto located close to great restaurants and public transportation. A great stay!” Hotel Representatives:
