• Room and overall hotel is superb.
• Shuttle service to downtown only started at 12:30 pm, and too far to walk. Need to take a taxi.

“My wife and I stayed overnight for a quick getaway from the kids and some boxing week shopping. Downtown shopping is too far from the hotel to walk with bags, and the shuttle didn't start until 12:30pm on checkout day, so we opted to shop until late, then check out early, and use our car to drive. Another option would've been to take a taxi, which are plentiful. The hotel itself was excellent. Excellent appointments, including plasma screen TV, and the west in beds are fantastic. A great value.”

• Location on and view of lake Ontario. Beds were exquisite.
• The level of cleanliness in our room was unacceptable. Valet parking was very inconvenient and overpriced.

“The hotel is in a very scenic location, right on lake Ontario. On clear days, one has a beautiful view of Toronto in the restaurant on top or the hotel. Parking is not convenient at all, with self-parking in an outside lot; 10 minutes walk to the hotel at $14.00 a day or valet parking, which is slow and inconvenient, at $30.00 a day. It was a nice hotel with a great lobby and an air of luxury, bur the room was mediocre and outright dirty.”

• Bad reaction to complaints.

“Under construction - very important to note! We did not have hot water in our room, even after they assured me on the phone we would not be affected by the construction (turns out there was no hot water because of construction!) Also, the minibar snacks were all expired. And, we rec'd a 7 am "automated call" that we did not ask for!”

“Some rooms were quite small. Our room had a fabulous view of the city with windows on the north and east side of the room. Quite spacious although the bathroom was quite small.”

• Parking was a breeze, location was great, rooms were spacious & comfortable.
• Coffee was not replenished over 3 days, when housekeeping couldn't get in the morning, they didn't return that day.

“Overall we were very pleased with the hotel. The service was good, rooms were clean, comfortable and roomy, and the location is great. Parking is easy to find in the area and less expensive than near other hotels. The only downsides were the prices of room service, in hotel restaurants and valet parking which were all high.”

• Location is not good for shopping.

“In the summer it would be fantastic to be on the waterfront. Room was amazing. Bathroom was phenomenal as well. We were on the 33rd floor and had a great view of the cn tower and the acc.”

• It was a very nicely decorated room with a beautiful view.
• The room was too cold. We requested someone to look at it but they never showed.

• The view, the TV and the bed wow.
• The parking at $30.00 per day was little much.

“The hotel is one of the finest available in the Toronto area. They shine in all areas of the business. The fresh apples at the counter as you are checking into the hotel were unexpected and a nice healthy snack as you began the experience of the evening¿s events great job! ”

• It was fancy, they had fresh apples at check in.
• The bathroom was really bad, broken showerhead, no fan, no ice in machine on our floor.

“It was fancy looking on the outside, but our room was run down in comparison to other 5-star hotels we have stayed in. It was too far from downtown to be classed as a "downtown" Toronto hotel.”

• Spectacular, excellent location, most rooms have view over lake Ontario & Toronto islands.
• Construction or repairs being made outside room window at 9:00 am.

“Outstanding service, friendly and knowledgeable staff, spotlessly clean, excellent location, within walking distance of air Canada center and Toronto train terminal, as well as to path. Toronto's underground shopping network spanning over 10 kilometers of downtown streets.”

• The room looks old. The headboard of the bed is old and not fancy looking. The bathroom corners could be cleaner.

• Fantastic bed, pillows, and linens.
• Inadequate cleaning: dusty vents on air unit, a hair in the tub, and toilet had streaks down front.

“A very nice hotel that is the most convenient hotel if you are taking in an event at the Air Canada Center. Great bed, lots of really good pillows, and nice linens. 30 bucks gets you an upgrade to a really nice room on a high floor overlooking Lake Ontario. The only downside was that housekeeping isn't up to hotel: there was a thick accumulation of dust on the vents of the air unit, I noticed a long black hair in the tub, and there were urine streaks down the front of the toilet. I was not shy about calling the front desk to complain, they sent someone to clean while I was out, and the problem was corrected. Even with that slight inconvenience, this hotel was a great buy.”

• Power tools (hammer drill) used on Saturday morning.

“We stayed in an under renovated room in the south tower. Check-in was easy and friendly and our request for a late check out was granted. Room size average. Carpet had stains beside the bed. Bath tub was clean, but looked like a lot of "scrunge" from many years of use. Room decor a bit dated too. Found parking 75m from the Hotel for $8, no in and out privileges though. All considered, it was an OK stay. ”

• Newly modern style renovated rooms with flat screen TV's.
• Rooms were renovated, but you could tell the hotel was old by the ceilings.

“I stayed at the Sheraton before the west in, and I would rate the west in a 3.5star and Sheraton a 4 star, just cause the Sheraton was more classy than the west in.”

• The maid service could have been better. Coffee machine and debris left on rug.

• The old rooms in the south tower. There were no energy drinks in the mini-bar to mix with my vodka. I.e. Hype energy drink.

• Security was suspect; someone opened our door.

“An excellent stay. However, our phone rang three times asking for the same person on Saturday morning, and someone opened our front door while we were in bed. Apparently the hotel had booked the room in someone else's name. We informed the hotel and were given a free breakfast. The security definitely needs to be tightened up.”

• It was beautiful, clean, and spacious.
• The traffic pattern of the cars/cabs pulling up to the front door. But given the location (downtown Toronto) there isn't much that can be done.

“Westin Harbor Castle is a beautiful hotel, situated right on the Toronto waterfront. The room was excellent and the hotel restaurant, mizzen, is superior.”

• It felt very upscale.
• The parking few per night was outrageous.

“The Westin Harbor Castle is a very nice upscale hotel in downtown Toronto. It is a little bit of a walk to the shopping areas in downtown Toronto and if the weather is cold and windy, this can be a little uncomfortable. However, you can get to almost any place in downtown Toronto for an inexpensive taxi ride from the Westin. I recommend this hotel in the spring/summer time. Rooms are very comfortable and the linen/bath towels are very luxurious.”

• The view, location, bed was very comfortable.
• No chairs at desk or table, very little closet space, old, marked furniture.

“Great location, friendly staff, nice view, comfy bed but the room did not live up to 4 star. There was no chair at the desk, no chairs at the table, only one arm chair. We ordered room service and one of us had to sit on the bed, the other on the foot stool - not very enjoyable when you consider the meal prices. Only one phone worked in the room, the safe took up most of the closet, the ironing board took up the rest. Overall, I was disappointed with the room for booking a 4 star hotel, but the bed was very comfortable and we had a great view.”

• Great exercise facility and pool. Beautiful views.
• $30 per night for parking. Not overly luxurious.

“Location. A lovely view of the lake. The room was clean and nice but it could be a lot better. The lobby was nice, but again, nothing special. The bathroom could have been more updated with nicer fixtures, towels, etc. The gym and indoor pool were great. I liked the fact that they were free to guests!”

• Rooms are smaller compared to Sheraton. Away from downtown.

• Somewhat isolated from downtown due to freeway; exorbitant parking.

“This is a nice hotel located directly on the Lake, with a nice view. It is right next to the ferry docks where you can catch a ferry over to Toronto Island. The room was clean, but somewhat dated. The front desk staff were friendly. The valet attendants were not very helpful or friendly; certainly not worth $30/night when you can park in one of the neighboring lots for $10. The only downside to downtown Toronto hotels beside the lake is that most of downtown Toronto is on the other side of the elevated freeway, which means that you probably don't want to walk it at night. Overall, this is a good but not great hotel.”

• the hotel was convenient to shops and attractions.
• We had noisy neighbors the first night.

“We enjoyed our stay at the Harbor Castle. We had a newly refurbished room with good views over the Lake and city. I was apprehensive to begin with as from other reviews I read that the hotel was a walk away from attractions and shops. We didn't find this to be the case. Ten minutes and we were in the heart of the city. Lots of places to eat. Lots of shops and very near the subway/station. We had a lovely time and would stay there again.”

• The room was stunning.
• Water in shower was a little cold regardless if on "HOT" max.

“This hotel was absolutely stunning. From the moment I arrived to the minute I left, everything in it was carefully thought out to produce a very high-end hotel. The lobby is simply spectacular with TONS of space to relax and the rooms are incredible. Whatever you are facing the water or the city, it is a delight to look at. The dark wood trimming and large LCD TV make the rooms perfect for work or relaxing. And lastly, the staff are extremely courteous and helpful.5 stars! Joey”

• Wait staff in restaurant uninterested.

“Excellent service from valley and front desk combined with newly renovated rooms made our stay a delight. The staff in the restaurant could have been a little more interested but it really didn't affect the enjoyment of our stay.”

• Power cords under dresser not hidden - looked unfinished.

“We had a great time at the Westin Harbor Castle. The room was stylishly decorated, the television was wide, the beds were so comfortable, the health club was free. I would have preferred a kettle for making a cup of tea instead of a filter coffee pot. Overall, our stay was HEAVENLY!”

• Everything is good.
• I am a smoker, Westin is completely a non-smoking hotel. It really does not work for me.

“The Westin hotel was very nice, however, I am a smoker and Westin does not work for me, as it is completely a non- smoking facility. I will appreciate, if I may not be given the Westin option. Thanks.”
