• It was a great stay the housekeeping staff was the best.
• Nothing we will stay there again the next time we are in the Eugene area.

“The place was outstanding in every way the housekeeping was the best. Its location was right where we needed it. With the freeway access the red lion is close to everything. I will stay there again. I will have anyone who asks to stay there. When we do any family stuff (we are out of Washington and the rest of my in-laws are out of coos bay, Medford and Salem) we will all meet there and stay a few days. Thank you for hooking me up!”

• Ultra modern with amazing had TV and furnishings.
• I had to call to have stopper replaced in bathtub.

“This was a hotel that far exceeded my expectations in every aspect. From the minute I arrived, valet parking was offered. The decor as you walk in was expansive and impressive. The concierge desk had a bowl of Mars bars! The front desk had several bowls of delicious looking green apples, and there was no need to wait in a line I was served promptly and there was more than one offer to assist me further with my luggage (but not pushy). The second day, it poured rain and I did not have to go and buy an umbrella. It was provided to me by the bellman. Any requests were always dealt with promptly, and I was impressed that the houseclean staff were there 24/7. Any time I called front desk they addressed me by name. Overall it was just a very personalized service and was very impressive.”

• The ladies change room was gross; smelly and unclean overnight.

“What a great place to stay. The staff was terrific. We requested a very late check out and were accommodated. Amenities were numerous. Loved the "heavenly bed." room was stylish with easy internet connection and modern flat screen wall mounted TV.”

• The staff was amazingly polite and friendly.
• The toile restart, although beautiful, offered a limited menu.

“I can't say enough good things about this hotel. The room was well furnished and comfortable. The staff, however, was amazing from the initial arrival to the day we checked out. They made us feel welcome provided the belief that they really did want to make our trip special.”

• Love the "heavenly beds"; very nice room; good location on the water.
• Some parts of the hotel were under renovation.

“Great hotel in lovely location in downtown Toronto. Located right on the water, this west in hotel has all of the great features typical of west in - heavenly beds, nice showers, very nice furniture. My room was large, overlooking the water, had a large flat-screen TV, a chaise-lounge, and a king size bed. Staff was friendly and attentive. I would recommend this hotel to other business travelers.”

• In good location but very barren when you walk out of hotel.

“The lobby is lovely with a view from the front doors right through to the lake. Unfortunately we were there on march break so it was very noisy and crowded with kids running around. The staff was exceptional with personal and friendly service. The room was very comfortable and had nice amenities. We have stayed before and will likely stay again.”

• The location and view were the best. I would enjoy staying there again.
• The hotel restaurants were high in price. The water pressure would drop at times in the showers or restroom.

“I would recommend this hotel. The view from the rooms was outstanding. The location was the best. It was close to all sport stadiums. And the hotel staff was helpful in finding attractions.”

• The location was good and they are renovating the rooms.
• Renovations were noisy and smelly; the front desk staff was unfriendly.

“We had to change rooms because the drilling from the renovations was incessant. The room we had smelled as though it was just painted that day. We were moved to another quieter room, but we had already unpacked. ”

• I was upgraded to a renovated room with plasma TV done in Asian decor. Quiet, serene and excellent workout facilities.
• There was a beer cap on the carpet when I checked into the room.

“Excellent service, comfortable rooms newly renovated in a serene Asian decor. Workout rooms have individual screens and headsets at each machine - no extra charge. The pool and hot tub are great. Nice for a romantic get-a-away, a family stay or a "girls weekend"!”

• The service from the front desk was excellent - free room upgrade with lake view, complimentary drinks.
• Hot tub temperature was too low, and bathtubs in room very small.

“We had an excellent stay! The front desk staff willingly gave us a renovated room, and upgraded it to a lake view with no charge. The room was comfortable, although the bathtub was small. Would definitely recommend to friends.”

• The fact was doing renovations and didn¿t tell us. Had to move rooms.

• The renovated rooms were modern, warm and spacious with an amazing flat screen TV!
• The bath was a standard shower, nothing special.

“We were hoping for something closer to shopping and restaurants. The Westin is a little out of the main shopping areas. It is a beautiful hotel, I could see it being a great location in the summer because of the harbor front, and you would enjoy walking, but it was way too cold, we had to taxi everywhere! The other thing that was a bit of a damper is the parking - $30.00 a day with in/out privileges. There is not allotting of choices for public parking that would be less expensive like green p parking. But aside from that we had a great stay, loved the pool area and gym!”

• The room, view, bed, furniture, bathroom were all fantastic.
• There was no hot water at all for our showers.

“We enjoyed our stay but were disappointed by the lack of hot water for our showers. Everyone with the hotel was extremely helpful and polite. The room was fantastic - clean, modern, comfortable. The bathroom was luxurious with marble everywhere. We would stay here again.”

• It took 3 calls (and 2.5 hours) to have someone bring us a missing remote for the TV.

• No smoking facilities inside the hotel and it are winter. Christmas few space Christmas decorations.

“We did not realize when we booked this year that it was smoke free. We were appalled, when told and without asking, that if you smoked in your room they would fine you some charge. When I¿m told the rules, I abide by them; I did not appreciate the threat. I did think that in the middle of winter in Toronto, an indoor area might have been provided as a courtesy.”

• Noisy, too large, far from central downtown compared to other hotels.

“Rating of very good, not excellent. We went for new year's eve so it was extremely loud and the police made an appearance more than once. Crowded drop off/pick up area. Need to cross major highway in order to indulge the entire goings on offered by metropolitan downtown Toronto.”

• Nice free fitness facilities & pool.
• The room was nice but not deluxe.

“The hotel is within fairly easy access to the southern part of the downtown core. The lobby was nice although it smelled like cooking food. They did a good job with keeping the hotel secure for new years. Our room was a good size, the bed was quite comfortable, and the view was nice it just didn't quite feel like a four star. For the price though, it was great!”

• The rooms in the south tower were contemporary and modern- which I really liked. Especially the flat panel TV.
• Two full beds in the room instead of 2 queens.

“The Eaton center, cannon theatre, can tower, rocket stations (subway), etc. Were all within walking distance from the hotel. The "heavenly" beds were just that. For the price I paid- it was a steal!”

• Room is very luxurious, very cool widescreen led HDTV. Nice lake view.
• Abet far from down town (and everything) had to drive to everywhere. Parking price astronomical.

“Very luxurious, beautiful rooms with a nice lake view. The down side of that is being a bit far from down town and attractions! So you end up driving to everywhere (and having to pay allot again for parking!) So you¿re not really considered in the downtown. Rooms are excellent (and I loved the led) although the fan on the ac/heater was very noisy and I had to turn it off to be able to sleep, but this may have been just my room. The worst thing was the parking! $30 a night for valet and if you don't want valet, you park your car a block and a half away for 17$(outdoors).”

• Not enough towels in the room for number of people. Hotel did bring extras when requested.

• The concierge service was very helpful.
• There were parts of the room that were a little beat up and run down.

“The west in harbor castle is a great place to spend a few days in Toronto. It is located on the water of lake Ontario, and is convenient to drive to all areas of the city. The hotel staff was courteous, and the concierge was very helpful. The only problem that was experienced was that the exchange rate at the hotel was very low, and they told us after we exchanged our money with them that it would have been better for us to have done it at the bank next door. Overall a nice hotel, and place to stay.”

• Room and overall hotel is superb.
• Shuttle service to downtown only started at 12:30 pm, and too far to walk. Need to take a taxi.

“My wife and I stayed overnight for a quick getaway from the kids and some boxing week shopping. Downtown shopping is too far from the hotel to walk with bags, and the shuttle didn't start until 12:30pm on checkout day, so we opted to shop until late, then check out early, and use our car to drive. Another option would've been to take a taxi, which are plentiful. The hotel itself was excellent. Excellent appointments, including plasma screen TV, and the west in beds are fantastic. A great value.”

• Location on and view of lake Ontario. Beds were exquisite.
• The level of cleanliness in our room was unacceptable. Valet parking was very inconvenient and overpriced.

“The hotel is in a very scenic location, right on lake Ontario. On clear days, one has a beautiful view of Toronto in the restaurant on top or the hotel. Parking is not convenient at all, with self-parking in an outside lot; 10 minutes walk to the hotel at $14.00 a day or valet parking, which is slow and inconvenient, at $30.00 a day. It was a nice hotel with a great lobby and an air of luxury, bur the room was mediocre and outright dirty.”

• Bad reaction to complaints.

“Under construction - very important to note! We did not have hot water in our room, even after they assured me on the phone we would not be affected by the construction (turns out there was no hot water because of construction!) Also, the minibar snacks were all expired. And, we rec'd a 7 am "automated call" that we did not ask for!”

• Parking was a breeze, location was great, rooms were spacious & comfortable.
• Coffee was not replenished over 3 days, when housekeeping couldn't get in the morning, they didn't return that day.

“Overall we were very pleased with the hotel. The service was good, rooms were clean, comfortable and roomy, and the location is great. Parking is easy to find in the area and less expensive than near other hotels. The only downsides were the prices of room service, in hotel restaurants and valet parking which were all high.”
