• It was clean & staff friendly, helpful-we liked that.
• Only 300 parking spots for 1000 guests - reminds me of the titanic.

“I was impressed with the lakeside view-it was a sight to watch the boats at nighttime and first thing in the morning. Front desk was most helpful when the air conditioning was experiencing problems and moved my wife & me to the other tower. Overall, I was really happy that we spent the night in the Harbor Castle.”

• Hotel staff are not very cordial especially the front desk.

“This is my impression of the Hotel. Great location, great view. Not very cordial front desk personnel. I requested for a king size bed but I was told they don't have one. My friends came after and they got a king size bed in their room. So I had to go back and talk to a different person so she changed my room. Now coming to the room, great view, nice decor but it was very dusty. I don't when it was cleaned.”

• Hotel location - excellent. Amenities - great. Room amenities, layout also great.
• Room not very clean, bed was poorly made; noise from other room's showers was very loud, sheets wrong size for bed.

“The location was amazing! Overall it was a great place to stay, but the cleanliness and a few room qualities weren't what I would consider a 4 star. The staff was very friendly and accommodating, although the concierge didn't know any info about the CNE (the biggest attraction on the weekend we were there), didn't know where to get Day Passes for the TTC, and fell short in restaurant recommendations. The room was a bit dusty, and there were smears of some kind of gooey spills on the bathroom counter. The bathroom shower drain didn't drain. There was also a large hole in the wall around the plumbing for the bathroom sink, through which a lot of noise from the next room's bathroom came through. The bed had queen size sheets and comforters on a King size bed, which made it very uncomfortable, since the sheets were not tucked in, and the comforter not big enough. Minus the cleanliness, the noise, and the poor plumbing, this was still a great hotel to stay in, and very good value for the money.”

• Modern, comfortable rooms, elegant lobby, cleanliness of the hotel, fitness center, pool area, sundeck.
• The hotel is farther away from the main downtown areas/shopping areas and there are a lot of stairs/ramps to get to the main lobby.

“We got a great deal for this four-star hotel that exceeded my expectations! I would stay here again as this hotel is elegant and clean, and the rooms are very modern and comfortable. The location has a nice view of the waterfront, but if you're looking for shopping in Toronto, it is a bit farther away from queen street shopping and the Eaton center. Unless you have a car or willing to take a few carbides, you will have to walk more than a few blocks or take one of the many trolleys in the area. Overall, I thought it was an excellent hotel with a beautiful lobby and renovated up-to-date rooms. It also has a great fitness room with a variety of equipment, a nice pool area, a large hot tub, a sundeck, and a tennis court. The only negative was that unless you get dropped off at the top of the driveway, you have to carry your luggage up several ramps or stairs to get to the lobby area which is on a higher elevation.”

• The rooms were clean and the hotel staff was great.
• We ate at Tolula and the food was just ok for a 4 star hotel.

“We had an excellent time at the Westin Harbor Castle. The rooms were great; the hotel staff was very helpful and friendly. The pool and work out is also top notch! The location relative to the entertainment district and shopping was ideal! We basically parked the car and walked every where we wanted to go. This is an ideal location for staying in Toronto.”

“All in all it was a nice experience though when we went to connect to the internet and a charge was on the screen and we did not connect so therefore we did not use internet and we were promised it came with free internet.”

• Large and clean room with excellent cityscape views and quick access to the transit system.
• Some hotel staff lied about hotel amenities.

“The hotel is conveniently located on Toronto's Harbour front and has good access to city transportation services including Union Train Station. Toula Restaurant, a formerly rotating restaurant on the 38th floor, was pretentious and did not live up to expectations. The hotel manager and concierge were both helpful in providing information about the city as well as resolving issues related to the mini-bar in the room. Upon expressing my concerns to the manager, a complimentary refrigerator was sent to my room quickly. Hotel pizza delivery service was tasty and inexpensive; definitely a good option for eating-in. Express check-out service was a breeze.”

• Luxurious and beautiful. When something is wrong, they compensate.
• Parking $30, 15 min walk from metro; Also, air conditioner, closet light & in-room safe did not work. No air all weekend was really bad.

“Beautiful hotel! Most of the staff was helpful and pleasant. The room had luxury bedding, a larger bathroom, and a view of the city and the great lake. The elevators are very fast. The pool area is nice with a patio on 5th floor. The restaurant was excellent, although room service breakfast was just okay.”

“This hotel is fantastic! Service is their middle name. As soon as I called, someone was there in seconds. The staff is friendly and totally on top of everything from knowing what you do in the health club to holding your luggage after checkout. The health club facilities are wonderful- full gym, steam room, sauna, and great pool with lap lane (yes!). Location is delicious (at least in the summer on the waterfront). Room was breathtakingly gorgeous and very clean. Love the Starbucks coffee in the room. Room service food was yummy.”

“It's a first class hotel in the largest city in Canada, waterfront. Short distance from most events, theatres etc. Other than the offsite parking which really didn't affect things too much. I could have done the valet parking that was a little pricey.”

“The room was very dirty, seemed like it was badly wiped down, when we complained we were told that the hotel staff was very busy, no one tried to rectify the situation. When we requested extra towels, real mugs and real cream for the coffee we were told to use the paper products provided in the room. Very unfriendly staff.”

• The location, the room, the checkout process, and service was great.
• The greeting was discourteous madness. Parking expensive, attendants rude.

“The hotel itself is in a great location, the rooms are beautiful and the facilities are great; especially if you are bringing your kids. The pool area has great indoor pool with tables and workout rooms, etc., plus giant outdoor patio with tennis court, basketball hoop, all on 5th floor. Checkout is a breeze. Negative: the parking greeters are mean-spirited, tip-hungry jerks. They are nice until you don't tip, then they are petty and slow. They will tell you that you can park down the street for $17 if you don't want to pay $30 for valet in the hotel. Then they won't let you sit your car by the front door while you check in if you are not valet. When you go down the street the parking lot person will charge you $20 to park and $5 for in/out privileges. So you are better off taking the valet parking. Just know that the valet car jockeys will hover for tips and if they don't get them they get mean. One guy actually shut the door on me before I was actually fully in my car and hit me when he realized I wasn't tipping. So, valet is $30 plus tips every time you get your car. This is gouging and unnerving. However, all other aspects are great and I would stay again.”

• Rooms are gorgeous, location is perfect and there's a star bucks in the lobby.
• Parking is expensive and self park is 3 blocks away.

“We've stayed at this hotel numerous times and always had a wonderful time. The rooms are all recently renovated, 42" plasma screen TVs, and wonderful views of the city and lake. The facilities - pool, gym are excellent and the staff is really friendly and helpful. Their restaurant is superb for a city view for cocktails and dinner is reasonably priced. The location near Queen's Quay is quiet enough for rest but close enough to the subways, street cars and bars and restaurants. We love this hotel and would recommend it for any kind of trip - business or pleasure.”

“Called to request a non-smoking room with a king bed and was told I had to request that a check-in by a rude operator. Other than that the staff was pleasant and courteous. The common areas are beautiful and the rooms, while nothing special, are comfortable and clean. Except for an in-room coffee service everything was extra--Internet $10.95 per day, parking $30.00 per day inside and $17.00 per day outside which a staff member warned was unsafe. The Westin Harbor Castle is an adequate 4-star hotel but not a great one.”

“We loved this hotel because it was beautiful and probably the cleanest hotel room we've ever been in. It was a non-smoking room, but did smell smoky upon arrival. The only downside was that the valet parking was full and the lots that are beside the hotel have a per day rate. Twenty bucks from 9 pm check-in until 7am, and then we had to pay another 20 bucks to stay until 1pm that same day. 40 bucks for 16 hours is a bit much.”

“Room and beds were lovely. Bathroom well appointed. Location is just ok - about a 5 minute walk to the nearest subway station, but quite an uphill hike to downtown Toronto. I was told there was self parking for $14 but when I asked it was full and not available. Also, the lot they use for this is about 4 city blocks away.”

• I did not find anything objectionable.

“I was upgraded to an incredible corner room on the 30th floor and this, no doubt, enhanced my overall experience. Dark wood, modern furniture had flat screen television, comfortable furniture and heavenly bed - excellent stay. Walking distance to town and transportation. Reasonable room service, newspaper at the door every morning. Very nice to see professional service over and above for customers!”

• There was nothing I didn't like, except that I was only there for 3 nights!
