• I liked the ease of getting back and forth to the airport.
• I didn't like that I was charged for internet connection, and that WiFi was not available in the guest rooms.

• The room was comfortable, clean and had modern amenities.
• The service at check in was okay, but could have been better.

“The Sheraton Gateway is the perfect place to stay if you have an early morning flight out of Pearson (or a short lay-over). The room was spacious and clean, had a nice sitting area, large flat-panel TV and a really comfy king-sized bed. Ask for an upper level floor if you like to watch the planes come and go. One helpful hint - park at the GTAA lot and take the train one stop to the hotel, this will save you big bucks on parking fees.”

“The room was terrific and everything you could ask for in a great room. The view to the airport runway was wonderful. The directions to the airport were well-marked. Parking at $28.00/day was steep.”

• You could hear other people in their rooms.

“I was surprised by how quiet the rooms were. Found food prices at restaurant very high. In fact we ate in airport, as they where cheaper their. That's how expensive they where. I did not like the fact that you could hear people in the other rooms but you could not hear airplanes out side which surprised me. Pool and sauna where very nice. I asked for message put no one called me back? They had hair dress and jewelry stores but never saw them open very strange?”

“Enjoyed our stay. Were very happy to find that the fitness facilities were open 24 hours as we had a late arrival. This allowed us to still take advantage of the pool and hot tub which was a welcome surprise after a day of travel.”

“This hotel is located right at Terminal 3 in Toronto YYZ which makes it excellent for travelers overnight and connecting. The rooms are very well appointed. The facilities are very good for an airport hotel. The restaurant and dining, while expensive, is very good quality.”

• Very expensive for non room costs.

“$28/day for parking. Give me a break! Two coffee's with baileys in it with tip for $32. The Hotel is average and no where near a 4 star or 5 star facility. You may think you got a good deal however in the end the expenses you may for the staying there will make up the difference of any savings you had on the room rate.”

• The drink prices in the bar were outrageous.

“The facilities were excellent. The beds were extremely comfortable. Check-in/out was a breeze. The prices at the bar were incredibly high. I paid $12.65 for a gin and tonic and to say the least I did not drink there again.”

“Clean. Definitely a hotel I would recommend and stay in. Great stay and exceeded expectations. Rooms were big, clean and convenient. We typically stay at 4 + star hotels and this fit that description.”

• Great location; right next to terminal 1 & 3. You can walk to airport.
• Terrible service. Plenty ladies of the evening around.

“Guest service did not give proper directions to hotel. Upon arrival, doorman & bellman didn't want to help w/ bags. Front desk clerk read out my room # loudly in front of others and was very impatient. He processed me like a number and did not asked if I have any questions when I had plenty. Called guest services upon entering the room to inquire about dining, I was informed that the restaurant was still open. Went to restaurant right away, found out it was closed and had to settle for the Lobby Bar w/ limited menu. This is when I experienced my Cobb Salad the Sheraton way: romaine, tomato, egg and carrot without blue cheese, chicken or bacon. The soup we ordered came literally cold. Too bad my children were sick and throwing up, otherwise I would have a nice chat with the manager. The staff and management wasted a great location. Terrible.”

“This is a fine place to sleep when you have an early or late flight, since it is directly connected to Terminal 3 and to the automated airport shuttle to Terminal 1. Although not fancy, the room was quite comfortable. Internet access was overpriced; I wish they'd just bundle it into the cost like motels do! Also, the person who answered the "guest services" phone could not tell me about getting into town on public transportation, which I later learned is quite easy. The restaurant had the typical overpriced mediocre fare for breakfast. After breakfast, I discovered the other dining options in the adjoining airport terminal. All in all, I'd say not having to await an airport shuttle bus makes this decent hotel a winner, if not a no-brainer.”

• The convenient walk to the airport next door.
• Expensive parking.

“This hotel was clean, large, and very high quality. Although it was very pricey (food, parking) the service and amenities available were excellent. Most of all, it was great to be able to walk from our room to the airport terminal without having to step outside, especially with the weather being -20 degrees C that morning.”

• Great new had widescreen TV ;).
• The room is a little bit smaller than the others I have been in the same star level.

“The hotel is clean and comfortable though the room and bathroom was a little bit smaller than others in the same star levels liked the new big had widescreen TV in the room. The drawback of the hotel is the entrance is a little bit complicate because we have to go on several elevators before getting to the hotel. All in all, it is a great hotel.”

• Parking procedure needs improvement upon leaving.

“Excellent hotel. The only area of concern is leaving the hotel parking. Upon reaching the cashier, he still had to phone back to the front desk to confirm that the ticket that you had validated was correct. A great delay results. Other travelers I met said the same thing.”

• The staff was very helpful and polite, and I could enjoy smoking without feeling discriminated against or less human for my tobacco addiction.
• Could better brand of coffee in the room with more bottled water for making coffee with and more creamers.

• No valet service, parking was the airport parking.

“The mini bar in the room wasn't even stocked and there was no hairdryer. We only got a better room after asking for an upgrade. The second room was worthy of the 4-star rating.”

“This hotel is incredibly convenient with an annex to the airport. The room was comfortable, clean, warm & thoughtfully decorated. Service was great and concierge was very helpful. At check in we were given a buy one get one free breakfast buffet voucher. This was great except that the hot food at the buffet was terrible. The fresh fruits, cereal and yogurt were fine and the service was fine as well. While the voucher seemed like a great deal, at $23 it was anything but for the quality.”

“The hotel is right near the airport but very far from any shopping centre and downtown. Room decor is dated and medium clean. Good for overnight stay between flights. Staffs attitude is cool but courteous.”

“Personally I enjoyed the hotel, I wouldnt have gone to an airport hotel if I knew about it but over all it was a pleasant stay, my son and I were riding the train that goes around the airport all afternoon. Swimming area and bathroom, fantastic! Food was a bit pricy for what you got, also parking would run a hole in your pocket.”

“An excellent airport hotel. Has a great pool area and is a fantastic place to unwind after a long or grueling flight. Not convenient for downtown outings, but if you're only going to be around the airport and need to relax before or after a trip this is your best bet in Toronto.”

• It was very clean. The rooms were very nice, with a business like decor. Very masculine.
• I did not like that it was located at the airport. It is located on the 5th floor of the parking lot.

“This is a beautiful hotel that I would recommend to the business traveler, or someone stopping in the city on a layover. However, this is not a hotel that I would recommend to a local of Toronto. You have to drive through 5 floor of the parking lot, to get to the hotel, and it is attached to the airport. It is not within walking distance of any restaurants. And if you want to take a taxi anywhere, the only ones out front are the airport taxis, which charge double the normal cab fare.”

• I had an excellent stay at the Sheraton Gateway hotel. The place was very clean, comfortable and classy. I would definitely stay at this hotel again.
• There was no late night hot-food room service!

“My experience at the Sheraton Gateway hotel was a very pleasant one. The room was spacious, clean and comfortable. I was also impressed with how classy the place looked. The staff was accommodating and I received excellent customer service. The only down-fall was that there was no hot-food room service available on the late night menu, and the person we talked to wasn't sure where we could order in. Overall, it was a great stay!”

• The rooms were comfortable and clean, but I don't need a 4-star just for this.
• The ice room near our room was a private one for airline employees only. Don't like location in airport.

“Although this was a nice hotel, it was located in the airport. Next time I would avoid any hotels in an airport since it's very inconvenient for travel outside of the airport. Also, hotels should provide free parking for guest no matter where its location is.”

“In a few short words, there was nothing wrong with the hotel rooms themselves, what was wrong was more with the staff and other hotel facilities. They were downright unhelpful if not otherwise condescending. There was one exception on the morning of check out. Unable to answer basic questions/directions and instead of going and finding the information like most staff do, they would just respond, I don't know. We exchanged long lines at reception desk due to understaffing. Hot tub was lukewarm and one of the metal support poles on the stairs was split from its base (all rusted) and dangerous to cut your feet. Fitness changing rooms were filthy. The list goes one. I wasn't a fan of Star wood properties but this definitely confirmed that they won't be getting my business again.”

• I didn't like that we had to pay for parking and that it was right at the airport, the location was not as close to the wedding we went to as I hoped.

• It is located inside the airport. Difficult to find if you are traveling by car. High parking rate.

“Lovely specialty property, located in Terminal 3 of the Toronto International Airport. Parking is close to the hotel entrance, but you must drive through the airport complex and all the way to the top of a parking garage, plus pay $24 for parking. It is a very inconvenient and annoying situation if you are using the hotel as a home base for exploring Toronto.”

• I hope it will take my offer every time, this travel I had to stay in another hotel for the same price I stayed at Sheraton gateway before.

• Cost of vehicle parking very exorbitant.

“Overall fine hotel for the money. While in close proximity to the airport plane noise was never bothersome and was not even heard. The beds were extremely comfortable and the housekeeping staff was very efficient.”

“It was a little difficult to find, even with Map Quest. Parking was expensive. We expected it to be noisy so close to the airport, but it wasn't, at all and the lights at night made for a pretty view. Hotel staff was super friendly, fast, very helpful and accommodating. Rooms were good sized, modern, very clean, nice linens & towels. Very comfortable bed, too. Overall, our stay was pleasant, luxurious and relaxing. It's one of the nicest places we've been in the GTA, and we're very frequent visitors. We'll be back, now that we know where it is!”

• View from window was a big wall. Beds were small. Parking cost 28$ per day.

“Great for business traveler who needs to be close to airport for an early morning flight. Not so great for families (beds are too small for 2 people/bed) and there is not much to do unless you get out of the area by car. Oh. Parking costs 28$/day.Still, rooms were super clean and the staff was very helpful.”
