• Convenient location and very clean rooms.
• Amenities were not up to standard of other Sheratons.

“This hotel appears to have undergone some renovations and modernization. Cleanliness was excellent but simple things weren't right. For example, ice machines were only on every other floor, underground garage (paid parking)had gates but was not secure, sign for valet parking but no bell man. This hotel should only be ranked 3 star.”

• Nice view and location, large rooms.

“It worked perfect for me as I was attending the World Games for one day. I kind of wished I could have used more of the hotel because it was so nice. But I had to see the games!”

• Sound proof needs improvement between the hallway and rooms.

• Room was whisper quiet, bed was like sleeping on a cloud.
• We travel with a 4 lb spoiled dog and were shocked when we arrived to discover that we had to pay an extra $65 for her to stay with us!

• Pool facilities were not acceptable.

“Everything in the menu for the hotel dinning was over priced, even the coffee was $6. The pool appears that it has not been renovated in about 15 to 20 years, the building was in the midst of exterior renovations and housekeeping came knocking on the door
very early on a Saturday morning. Furthermore, you have to pay for parking on the property while staying at the hotel.”

• Hot tub area had mold in the roof and tub was not that warm.

• The food in the restaurant was very good.
• This is not a 3 star hotel.

“I would be hesitant to stay at this one again. Check in was time consuming and difficult. We had to pay for parking which was not anywhere. (This wouldn't have bothered us if we had known in advance.) There were also renovations going on downstairs and the cleaning staff cleaned with loud music in the afternoons. The TV in the room only had reception for a few channels. The hotel staff often didn't seem to know/willing to help with questions. Breakfast in the dining room took an hour instead of 20 minutes. Our server was very good and actually did comp us our meal because of the kitchen mix up but we ended up missing our ferry to Victoria and had to wait a full hour for another one because of the kitchen mistake. Thank goodness the food was good or we would have been beyond angry. On check out we waited for 20 minutes for an elevator to take our luggage downstairs and we were on the 4th floor! After 20 minutes, we dragged our 4 bags downstairs rather than waiting a second longer. (We were the 4th people to finally give up and do this). When the elevator would get to our floor it would be already jam packed as people on the higher floors were having the same problems to get on. This was all occurring around 12:00 noon, which was check out time. When we mentioned it to the front desk the worker literally shrugged his shoulder and said that there was nothing he could do. We expected better.”

• The hotel was under renovation.

“Nice hotel with friendly staff. Not very close to downtown Vancouver. However, if you are looking for a nice hotel with all the amenities, than this is the one for you. There is a shopping mall with a Wal-Mart, and grocery store conveniently located across the street.”

• 5 Star treatment better then the Bay shore Westin or the Phinical Marriott by far.
• Although the hotel was a little away from Vancouver. Everything else was over the top.

• Cheaper than downtown Vancouver hotel.
• Surrounding area lacks amenities.

“Hotel was clean and comfortable with helpful staff. Unfortunately the pool area was still under construction. The location is a little inconvenient if you are traveling from the airport. Also the surrounding area was not pleasant and lacked decent dining locations. However, if you are looking for a pleasant place to stay to visit the Greater Vancouver area it is well placed and cheaper than downtown alternatives.”

• Large room, comfy beds, special requests met, large bath vanity, in-service gourmet coffee.
• The air conditioning in my room did not work both nights. It was repaired the first night, but was still not operating by the second night.

“Beautiful hotel with great spa and exercise facilities. Large, tastefully appointed rooms with cozy linens. Graceful, long granite vanity in large washroom. I would easily recommend this hotel to friends.”

• Just a little too far away from Downtown Vancouver.

“The hotel is currently under renovation and therefore it did not appear to be that neat in appearance at present. The transportation is considered convenient because it's near the highway.”

• Beautiful room with King size bed.
• Pool closed.

“Beautiful hotel, they gave us a great king size room. Quiet area. Staff was very helpful. There is shopping in area, and it is really convenient to hwy 1. The only downside was that the pool/spa was closed, although they did tell us we could use a pool at the health club 2 blocks away free of charge.”

• I got an excellent price for a quality hotel in a good location.

“I could not afford the restaurant, but no sweat; there were economical alternatives within half a mile. Just one downer - parking was an extra $6 a night - but I guess that's normal for Vancouver city venues.”

• Remote location.

“Hotel is fine. Location is not so fine. Local shuttles require $55 to go to the airport, six miles away. I had other choices, but still relied on local transit, which meant waiting at the Surrey Central Sky train Terminal for about 30 minutes in cold, damp weather, surrounded by crack heads, homeless, and other weird types. The hotel should offer its own shuttle service.”

• The bed was extremely comfortable. The bathroom products were very nice.
• One of the elevators caused me slight problems but hotel security helped. Noisy in the morning in the hallway.

“Good for business travelers. This is a great location for someone working between Langley and Coquitlam. The pool and spa are still be renovated, so this was a bummer. Overall, quality is good. I'll stay again.”

“This is a hotel located in the Downtown area of Surrey BC. They have great staff (customer service) and the rooms are well cleaned.”

“An excellent hotel with 4-star facilities, but not seemingly well managed. The managing team responded slowly and ineffectively on Tuesday night, August 14. Around 11:05, I called the front desk to complain, but there had been no action taken within the next 30 minutes. At 11:25pm that night, I called the front desk three times within five minutes, but no one answered my call. Finally, I was dressed up and went downstairs to the front desk. When I asked to see the manager, I was asked to wait (for about 3 minutes and then told that the manager was gone and that I had to call the next morning.”

• Staff accused me of slamming my door when I got to my room, TV remote control was broken, parking and internet fee.

“The hotel was nice and comfortable however there was a charge for basic services like internet and parking. Staff was pleasant but wrongly informed me that I was slamming my door. Good deal for its location overall.”

• The location was further from the main highway than we expected.

• The staff did not address our problem with the booking.

“Pros: Nice updated rooms and comfortable bed, decent location off the highway, easy to find, close to shopping mall. Secure, underground parkade. Cons: Close to highway and noise from vehicle traffic at all hours, doors slam loudly and can be heard from many rooms away. Underground parkade cost $6. Staff did not address our concerns with the booking-we booked a room with a mountain view and they gave us the one with the city view. Staff said they were booked and could not give us another room and then stated as is there anything else I can help you with? Poor service in my opinion.”

“The hotel (Sheraton Guildford Surrey) was great, but it was further from downtown Vancouver than I anticipated. I don't mind using public transportation and downtown was easily accessible by bus and Sky Train, but that took nearly an hour each way. All in all, a very good stay.”

• It was nearer to Vancouver than our Seattle hotel.
• It was not very near Vancouver's center, and was fairly pedestrian.

“We ended up at this hotel while looking for a nice hotel near Vancouver for a decent price--it met all these criteria. Nothing fancy. Front desk help was very nice--if you asked a question, they were trying to answer it. Pretty ordinary.”

“The hotel is visible from the freeway and is located next to a flag pole which stands 16 stories tall which flies an extremely large flag that is also visible from a distance. The staff seemed very professional and answered all my questions. The rooms are clean as is the pool and whirlpool areas.”
