• Smoking room not as new as non-smoking (chair thread worn).

“The difference in the non-smoking and non-smoking rooms was apparent. Wallpaper starting to peel, chair thread worn, carpet showed wear. Not as crisp. Service was very good, very helpful, and pleasant. Rooms good size and nice set up.”

• The staffs were very accommodating.
• The room wall was dirty with mud.

“The concierge was fabulous and the staff was friendly. The room had mud stains on it but the rest was great. Our friends room unfortunately did not have a working shower and bath tub so that wasn't too good.”

• Because our room had a problem (missing wallpaper), we were given free buffet breakfast. Great service.
• You have to pay for parking. The parking fee is really a pain.

“Huge rooms. The first time we stayed the bed was horrible, but this time it was quite comfortable. The buffet was impressive, but paying for parking ($22.50) is annoying. If you have to stay Downtown, it's in an excellent location. If you don't, it's not worth the extra money for parking.”

• Pleasant, spacious room with desk and quality furnishings.
• Lobby and parking garage were a bit dingy.

“Well-situated hotel in the heart of Downtown. Convenient underground parking below hotel for $22/day. Very nice pool, spa, squash courts ($) and exercise room. Room was very spacious with quality furnishings and a small terrace. Staff was pleasant and professional. We had a nice stay and would return.”

• Location was OK. Not to far from Centreville happenings
• After accepting our offer they charged us a $20 surcharge at check-in.

“The hotel was generally very nice, but I would never recommend it. I have stayed many times in the Montreal area, and have always had very positive experiences until now. I booked two rooms, and when I arrived I was told that I had to pay a $20 surcharge for a non-smoking room. It seems like they accepted my offer, then added the surcharge after the fact to boost my bid after my offer was accepted. They also have discounts for their restaurant that didn't help their cause, as I went to use it, and was told it was only good for another time of the day. I hate promos that have restrictions or make a customer jump thru hoops. It didn't get me to go back--and I tossed the coupons. Offer poorly explained by front desk upon presentation. The restaurant was slow and it was the first time I've ever had lousy coffee in Montreal! This place has very high regular rates, and their are a number of fine hotels in Montreal that I would rank much higher that this place.”

• Clean and good downtown location.
• Problems with the hot water, had to run it before getting into shower.

“Clean hotel in a good downtown location. Would stay again. If you don't upgrade into the bigger, fancier room, internet is not included. Had a problem with hot water, but was resolved, just had to run the hot water before the shower. A little inconvenient, hopefully they fix the problem soon. Friendly staff, most are bilingual.”

• The bed in the premier room was comfortable and the room was spacious.

“Delta Montreal has a great location, and the appointments of the "premier room" in which we stayed were very nice. However, we were originally assigned a smoking room, and were told that if we wanted a non-smoking room it would cost an extra 20 dollars. We checked both rooms, and saw that the smoking room was not as nicely appointed, and the bed sagged in the middle. However, the more expensive room was wonderful, especially by comparison. Very nice bed, linens, toiletries, and very spacious. It was worth the extra 20 to stay in this room, but I felt they had misrepresented themselves with the original price.”

• Downtown location convenient to public transportation.
• Restaurant was not open every night due to the winter.

“Hotel was located in a nice location Downtown and very convenient to public transportation, shopping, and sights to see. The hotel is starting to show signs of aging (i.e. carpet pulls, stains, etc) but overall was a nice value. The workout area was in good condition with nicer equipment than most hotels. The pool was better for lap swimming than recreational swimming (i.e. with children). The restaurant was closed 2 of the 3 nights we stayed because of the slower winter season. The bar remained open and had an abbreviated menu.”

• Nice rooms, comfy beds.
• Hotel allowed busses of college students to come and stay for the new year. Rather loud.

“Hotel did not offer continental breakfast and bus loads of US college students came to drink and party in the new year in Canada and at the Delta. It was noisy and loud but I suspect it isn't like this year round. If they offered complimentary breakfast, this hotel would get a 10.”

• Furniture and faucet old and worn, and there were cigarette butts in the balcony of our nonsmoking room.

“Good clean room but bed was too soft to sleep on and TV was too small, old and close to the Couch. Balcony could have a better decor instead of just a concrete floor.”

“The lack of light in the bathroom may have been to hide the repairs that one has started and not finished. The beds were comfortable; however the bedding was right out of a Motel 6. The internet was slow and pricey. (I got a better connection for free at a Holiday Inn Express.)”

• Location was great. Nice, comfortable hotel.
• The heater of the room we stayed in was broken, so it was quite cold. However, they did move us to a different room.

• The room was one of the most spacious I have seen. My requests for a two-bedded, non-smoking room were met. We were allowed to check in very early.
• No dislikes.

“The Delta is centrally located near the Bay and entrance to the underground shops. The metro is just one block away. Although a very busy street runs close by, there is little traffic noise. The rooms are spacious and well-appointed and everything is very clean. There is a coffee maker in the room, and a newspaper is delivered daily. There is a fairly well-equipped gym, a pool, and a restaurant, although we did not dine there.”

• Made us pay premium to get a non-smoking room! Bad gimmick.

“In brief:-excellent convenient location, large clean room- hotel kind of seedy in places, garage and entry way to lobby was dirty and poorly maintained-no coffee in lobby as promised before 8 am--they don't refill it once small urn is depleted-no Ethernet cable in upgrade room, luckily we had our own- internet service was down for huge chunks of time and hotel blamed service provider, service provider blamed hotel-- could make no progress getting this attended to-made us pay a premium ($25) at check-in because they claimed they had no non-smoking rooms left. We paid because the desk clerk said the rooms really do reek of smoke and they are all on a smoking floor.”

“We showed up at 3 pm and they were supposedly already out of nonsmoking room, and then proceeded to charge us $20 extra. When we returned to confirm the 'upgrade', the fee went up to $25 and I had to bargain them down. The whole thing was so random.”

• Staff was friendly but the performance was an issue.
• No heat in room.

“We checked into a very cold room at 4:00 pm and notified the desk that the room was very cold. We were leaving at the time and they said they would check it while we were gone. We got back at 11:30 pm and it was even colder. They had to finally change our room after a half hour of trying to fix it. They wanted us to wait while they changed the thermostat but we demanded another room which they finally gave us at midnight.”

• May be needed to have more pillows and I asked for no smoking room but there was a lot of smoke smell in hall way.

• I liked that there were balconies to each room. I felt like I was in a little apartment rather than a hotel.
• Unfortunately there was a large, noisy group of students there at the time and they were a bit crazy.

“Outside of an odd parking garage payment system which was frustrating this hotel was lovely. There are not a lot of restaurants around it in the immediate area so plan on walking about 6 blocks for most of the food especially on Sundays when a lot of them were closed. It is just a few blocks from the Opera house and movie theaters. The staff was friendly and helpful and my room spacious with a balcony!”

• Easy access to downtown Montreal via walking.
• Parking is expensive and no street or discount lots nearby.

“Nice downtown hotel for business or leisure. For an upgrade of $30, received excellent room upgrade and internet, breakfast and happy hour services included. Well worth the upgrade. Overall, with upgrade, save over half off the normal rate for an executive room.”

• Convenient location, cleanliness, good service, spacious rooms.
• Pillows were not comfortable, about there were not extra pillow options in the room, and decor of the room could be much trendier by changing the pictures.

“I recommend this hotel to both business and leisure travelers. People with family and small kids can enjoy their stay. Nice facilities like a very nice restaurant, pool, sauna, nice gym equipment and business center. Clean rooms but nothing fancy just classic hotel room. Staff is very kind and nice and helpful. The best thing about this hotel is its location.”
