Aggie from Rocky Hill, CT
“It's a nice hotel located near the McGill University, close to shopping, restaurants, and metro. The bed is comfortable. The room is big, the bathroom is a little bit old though. I would definitely stay in the hotel next time and recommend it to my friends.” Sep 3, 2008 by
Carol from Vancouver, BC CA
“It was very great, we liked it very much.” Sep 1, 2008 by
Stephen from St. Thomas, ON CA
“We were at the Delta Montreal, they were having problem with some guest rooms and had to transfer us to the Delta Centerville, which is not far from them. Arrived the Delta Centerville at about 11.30 am, reception staff did not know what was going on (which is rare for a respectful brand hotel), he had a long discussion with his female supervisor in French, which I do not understand. Judging from their facial expression, I did not feel like I was welcome.” Aug 28, 2008 by
Ping from Hanover, NH
“Great!” Aug 28, 2008 by
Sebastien from Gatineau, QC CA
“Staff was excellent! Location was prefect! Parking was excellent. Comfort great. The only thing, noise from the corridor during night.” Aug 19, 2008 by
Pam from Simsbury, CT
“Flowers in lobby were past prime, spa was always full of kids, as was the sauna. Room was clean and beds were quite comfortable. Personnel were polite and professional.” Aug 19, 2008 by
Kitty from Burlington, VT
“Hotel met all of my expectations. I've stayed there on two separate occasions, once with my husband and small children, once with a girlfriend. The hotel is well suited for both. The location is terrific. The amenities, including a squash court, kids play room and on-site spa can't be beat and the hotel rooms are very pleasant.” Aug 19, 2008 by
Natalie from Ottawa, ON CA
“Excellent location and good quality for the price.” Aug 17, 2008 by
Ravi from Milford, CT
“Hotel is conveniently located for all major attractions and restaurants in the downtown Montreal. Metro access is only a block away. Parking is a hassle and hotel charges an inordinate amount for parking. Restaurant and room service in the hotel are very expensive. Staff is friendly.” Aug 17, 2008 by
Julia from Hanover, NH
“The location was very good, in walking distance of lots of places of interest. The room was standard. We were offered only a smoking room and urged to upgrade to a non-smoking room by paying additional $ per night, which we refused. We parked in the hotel parking garage, which is rather expensive ($23 per night) but does not offer any safety for that price. We were told we could leave the car until 6 pm after checking out at 12 pm, however, were not warned or advised at all not to leave the luggage in the car. Therefore, we left our luggage in the trunk of the locked car. When we returned 5 hours later, all luggage was stolen out of the car. After reporting this incident to the hotel, we were not offered any help, but got the very clear impression that we are not wanted there anymore but should leave and just submit a report to the police. The answer to our question why customers are not warned not to leave their luggage in the car in the hotel garage ranged from that 'they could not possible have the time to tell that to every single customer (sadly enough, they did nevertheless have plenty of time to try to convince us to upgrade the room or to lecture us about the restaurant and bar services of the hotel) to 'we don't want to scare off customers. Some customers might overreact. The poor handling of this situation left us with the impression that the hotel cares more about its impression than actual safety and the facts of the theft even gave us the feeling that hotel employees might be involved. Overall, I would not recommend to stay there.” Aug 16, 2008 by
Bill from Kingston, NY
“All in all a good, clean, somewhat upscale property with a good location and friendly staff. I would definitely stay there again.” Aug 14, 2008 by
Dena from Dedham, MA
“Trendy, upscale and friendly, a definite must!” Aug 13, 2008 by
Ken from Markham, ON CA
“Good location, need some renovation. Smell cigarettes in a non-smoking room.” Aug 13, 2008 by
Melissa from Burlington, VT
“Very comfortable hotel in fantastic location near the metro. Rooms are very spacious with comfy beds and a seating area. Very large baths with ample counter space and awesome spa toiletries. Addition of a mini-fridge would be a plus! Also since all rooms have a balcony it would be nice if there was seating out there as well to be able to enjoy the space. Staff is very helpful (sending up the super duper fancy "cot" instead of a folding version). Parking is outrageous.” Aug 9, 2008 by
Jinsoo from Grand Rapids, MI
“Good.” Aug 8, 2008 by
Lance from Arlington, VA
“I think this was true back in 1980. Today, it is starting to age and is in desperate need of remodeling. This includes both the rooms, corridors and even the (surprisingly large) gym downstairs. On the positive side, king-sized bed was very comfortable, room was very large and staff at the hotel were friendly and obliging. In addition, the hotel is conveniently located downtown, close to Metro stations and shopping. On the down side, nearby car parking is limited and expensive. While the hotel staff do their best to clean these rooms as best they can, the rooms have a terrible odor and can really spoil a vacation if you let it. Overall, we got great value for price and, despite misgivings, would likely be prepared to stay here again. I love Montreal!” Jul 23, 2008 by
Landra from Valatie, NY
“This hotel more than met our expectations. The location was perfect. We were able to walk everywhere with ease. The staff was friendly and helpful.” Jul 23, 2008 by
Maly from Thornhill, ON CA
“At check in, I asked for a non smoking room and I was told that we can't get a non smoking room. Only after I argued with the manager we got the non smoking room. That was very upsetting.” Jul 21, 2008 by
Sie from Toronto, ON CA
“The problem was that we all had to upgrade our rooms for because all the regular rooms were smoking rooms. Even though we all upgraded to non smoking rooms. We could all smell smoke in our rooms. My room even smelt damp and mildew like.” Jul 19, 2008 by
Jay from Seattle, WA
“The hotel was great.” Jul 19, 2008 by
Wynne from Vancouver, BC CA
“Excellent location and amenities.” Jul 18, 2008 by
Rajaa from North York, ON CA
“Overall excellent, friendly and convenient. The porter service and help was appreciated.” Jul 16, 2008 by
Larry from Alpharetta, GA
“The Delta was in perfect spot for our Montreal needs, staff was friendly.” Jul 15, 2008 by
Eric from Gatineau, QC CA
“Nice hotel, great downtown locations. The room I got was small and angular, the bathroom lighting is very poor (the toilet is in a corner, almost in the dark!) you can't stop the fan in the bathroom either when the light is up. The bed is very comfy.” Jul 9, 2008 by
Steve from Poughkeepsie, NY
“It was fine.” Jul 8, 2008 by
Manoharlal from Kingston, ON CA
“When I checked in, the hotel the staff told me that they have non smoking rooms. But have to pay extra $ per night which I refused Finally got the smoking room Which my family did not like. I was surprised that they were asking more money for non smoking room.” Jul 3, 2008 by
Mona from Chatham, ON CA
“I was not driving therefore it would have been nice if the hotel was closer to the main streets. However I have nothing to complain about as the taxi were courteous. I would surely go there again. I then moved hotels through you people and found it closer to everything I was interested in.” Jul 3, 2008 by
Bob from Madison, WI
“Good downtown location; large room with comfortable bed.” Jul 3, 2008 by
Brian from Ottawa, ON CA
“The Delta Montreal is a very nice hotel. It was very convenient for my stay as it is just down the block from Place Des Arts. The Subway (metro) is also just a few blocks away. The area felt quite safe at night. The room and bathroom was quite spacious as compared to other 3-4 star hotels I've stayed in. Having a balcony in the summer months is also a bonus. They gave me a room right beside the elevator. No problem for me as I'm quite a heavy sleeper but for sometime it may be a problem. Also right next door to me there was some sort of power room. It constantly hummed. Again, I'm a heavy sleeper and one could claim it was white noise but it was there. Despite all that I'd be quite pleased to stay at the Delta Montreal again.” Jul 2, 2008 by
Aaron from Tottenham, ON CA
“A great deal for a great hotel in a great location! Would come back again!” Jul 2, 2008 by
Joe from Ocean, NJ
“I've stayed here before and I like this hotel. The location is great, couldn't ask for more. Rooms and lobby are really clean. I would definitely stay here again.” Jun 2, 2008 by
Rose from Houston, TX
“This hotel is nice; however it does need to be updated. The balcony was pretty filthy and the room needed a little extra cleaning care. The staff was really customer friendly and was appreciated.” May 30, 2008 by
Paul from Spring Valley, NY
“This is a lovely hotel, definitely a three star hotel. The pool was quite nice if a little small. The staff was attentive and I got a lovely room. I'd definitely stay there again.” May 30, 2008 by
Abby from Kitchener, ON CA
“The hotel has a fabulous fitness center that includes weights and cardio equipment, racquetball court and indoor pool. During my visit I was even able to take advantage of water aerobics class. Hotel staff was professional and friendly.” May 28, 2008 by
Kim from Peru, NY
“Very nice, worth the price--felt like was classy.” May 24, 2008 by
Anne from Kitchener, ON CA
“We were very happy with the whole experience. It's convenient to downtown. Our kids enjoyed the fitness room and swimming pool. Beautiful decor, friendly staff, the room was fantastic, very spacious, and had a balcony, big comfy duvets on the beds.” May 22, 2008 by
Mera N. from Houston, TX
“Be aware of this hotel, as it is undergoing construction. During check in they offer to upgrade to 'Deluxe non-smoking' room at 20 CAD/night. I think this is their ploy to get you to cough more. Parking is pricey, but if you are on weekend trip, street parking comes out cheaper.” May 15, 2008 by
Daniel from Toronto Ontario Canada, CA
“I reduced the rating for the room and cleanliness because the hotel gave me a smoking room for the first night of my stay. That room was horribly smelly, as was the whole floor. However, the helpful front desk told me I could get a non-smoking room the next day (2nd of my stay), and I did without problem.” May 13, 2008 by
Navpreet from Chelmsford, MA
“1. Hidden expense of parking. I was told the hotel will not validate the parking ticket and I will need to pay $22.50 extra for parking. Over and above the charges for the room! This is the first time I have heard this from any hotel. If I rent a room, where will the car stay? In all other hotels I have used, even in downtown of major metros. I have never had to pay for hotel parking. This was a big let down and was clearly a hidden expense. I was not informed about it earlier. 2. Paid Internet. Most of the places now a day, even the roadside motels, offer free internet access, but not Delta. I am sure there are other room types for which this service must be offered free of charge, but it is beyond me to understand what extra cost a hotel will have to bear to provide this service to all rooms. 3. No wireless internet. Who does not have wireless internet now a days? Grannies living in remotest places are getting used to wireless internet. I must confess, this is the first hotel I have seen in a long time which had no wireless internet, even when there was wired internet available. How much does a wireless router cost now a days?” Apr 30, 2008 by
Eva from Redding, CT
“This was a nice place with helpful staff. the room was clean and spacious and the balcony was nice to have. some areas where a little run down. location was perfect for us as we where visiting McGill.” Apr 25, 2008 by
Laurie G. from Rockton, ON CA
“For comfort and class the Delta Montreal met all our needs. The service was prompt and friendly. The rooms were spacious with a balcony. All hotel staff were able to help us with our tourist questions and direct us to someone within the organization to find us our answers. The services and amenities within the hotel were superb.” Apr 16, 2008 by
Kieran from Scarborough, ON CA
“Overall a decent place to stay, the main lobby is clean & gives the hotel a better image than the rooms. The room we stayed in was fine, but we had a few small issues. First off the TV was stained & very small for us, they only provided us with 1 dressing gown; the shower head was loose & would be better served with a proper head. Things that we liked, the balcony had a nice view, the small complimentary coffee machine was good enough & we managed to use it twice in 2 days. The newspaper provided on Saturday was a nice touch, although none on Sunday? The king sized bed was very comfortable. It is a 3-star hotel, could of been better but overall it was a fine place to stay.” Apr 10, 2008 by
Maxim from Tenafly, NJ
“Very nice hotel. In the middle of all the action, with excellent staff and great room and service.” Apr 9, 2008 by
Brian from Mississauga, ON CA
“Excellent value hotel.” Apr 1, 2008 by
Shawn from Monroe, CT
“This hotel did not quite meet my expectations of a 3 star hotel. The parking garage was a mess with construction crews and equipment all over and horrible chemical fumes in the garage and the hotel lobby. The room itself wasn't too bad, comfortable and spacious but the decor was outdated and the bathroom very bland and poorly lit.” Mar 28, 2008 by
Eric from Stratford, PE CA
“Last time I booked Delta Montreal on Pres Kennedy they said they only have smoking room and I need to pay $25 per night to upgrade to a non smoking room. I did it last time. They also required me to pay in order to upgrade to a non smoking room. I called Delta on the day I booked the room, which is at least a month before my trip to request a non-smoking room, but they said they could not guarantee that. And I did not get a non smoking room. Delta is horrible doing that to me again. I stayed at Holiday Inn before and they are great, free internet access, free local call. We don't even get any points for our stay. Just because it's a cheap room doesn't mean that they can treat their regular customers like that.”
