• I really liked the location, especially how it was so close to shopping.
• The parking for the hotel was located at the side of the hotel which was not convenient.

“The hotel was clean and comfortable but I was hoping that there would be closer parking and possibly a restaurant and pool. I should have looked up what I was getting with what rating.”

• The location, the helpfulness of the staff, the cleanliness, and quiet.

“This hotel offers a convenient location to the university, restaurants, shopping and to public transportation. The staff was most helpful and friendly. The breakfast that was served offered a wide variety of choices and the food was excellent. Considering that the hotel was in the central part of the city, we noticed how quiet the street became at night. We had a very pleasant stay, and intend to stay there again, when we return to Montreal.”

• Great location; large rooms with functional kitchenette.
• No central air in rooms but there are window units; they are very loud though but work well.

“Pleasant surprise for a 2 1/2 star. Large, clean rooms with good linens. Kitchenette was a great bonus. Can't beat the location if you're looking to shop St. Catharine's Street. A great overall experience; would definitely stay there again.”

• Convenient location, friendly staff, cleanliness, healthy breakfast.
• Expensive parking.

“The room was fairly spacious; bed comfortable; bathroom clean; staff friendly, and service was excellent. There was healthy, free breakfast (not sure if it is always free). Hotel is within walking distance to Metro; hence good (but not the best because locations in old Montreal are better) location for sight seeing. Parking is a bit expensive @ $25/night.”

• Location, excellent room, breakfast included.
• Breakfast was busy, elevators small, parking not convenient.

“The breakfasts were well stocked and the staff did their best to keep up with the crowd of people. Maybe extending the time would help but seats were hard to come by. Room was excellent with everything I could need. Bathroom lighting was a bit dim. I think all hotels in cities have inadequate elevator service and this was no exception, long waits, have to expect it. Parking was down the street and around the corner, not connected to hotel so not accessible.”

“The lamp was broken and fixed in 3 days after reporting. The phone did not work at all. I reported to the front desk 5 times in 6 days. They did not fix it.”

• Super clean, great breakfast, location!, very friendly staff, overall outstanding.
• Bathroom small in comparison with rest of room but clean and functional.

“Residence Inn Montreal Downtown is a very impressive hotel with a lot going for it. It is listed as 2 1/2 stars but I would rate it higher. The cleanliness is impressive, the entire staff quite friendly and helpful, the included breakfast is a valuable bonus. Very central location quite close to the metro. I highly recommend and would enjoy staying there again myself.”

• The room was beautiful and very clean. Great complimentary breakfast.

“I appreciated the free wireless internet and the full complimentary breakfast. Downtown is a little hectic to drive in, but great for walking. The staff was very friendly and helpful.”

• Breakfast always the same.

“Great hotel especially for such price. Great staff. Very helpful. Amazing location. Although the hotel has 2 problems: good breakfast but always the same. It is never changing. Another one is the parking. $15 a day parking with valet. My opinion - it's not very convenient. Overall, very good hotel!”

“This centrally located hotel had the charm and intimacy of a boutique hotel belying its exceptional cost. The room was spacious, tastefully decorated with a well supplied kitchenette. We would stay there again if we had the chance!”

• The rooms were huge with microwaves and full stoves. We could have lived there. Indoor pool a plus. Beautiful terrace.
• Tiny elevators and tiny bathrooms.

“The location of this hotel was amazing. It was close to everything - shopping, metro, clubs, and restaurants, yet it was far enough so that we did not have to deal with the shouting teens on the street. The terrace was beautiful with chairs and patio tables with umbrellas. The free full breakfast was a plus. The only down side were the small elevators which got packed especially during breakfast and checkout times and the tiny bathrooms which could not fit more than one person at a time.”

• Convenient location. Spectacular roof top patio.
• Slow and small elevators.

“The rooms definitely exceeded my expectations. The rooms are nice. The designers did a great job updating this older hotel with nice ambience lighting and marble countertop in the bathroom. The kitchen is very convenient. Next time, I will be staying here for the duration of my trip. By the way, check out the roof top patio. The view is beautiful.”

• The Size of my room!!! It was an appartment! Amazing in the center of Montreal!
• Windows were small. a small detail!
