• Near the attractions were visiting.
• The valet survey was slow and not very courteous. Front desk staff were especially unfriendly and not very helpful when trying to resolve our issues.

• For the price, this room was fabulous. Spacious, full kitchen, two TVs, sofa. Great value!
• Some of the rooms are rented long-term to college students. The students scream and play up and down the halls at all hours. I used ear plugs.

“This is a great hotel for the value. Halls and public areas are a bit worn due to long-term student rentals. Room was very clean and comfortable. Safe neighborhood just on the edge of downtown. Great breakfast (although a bit over-run by students). I would definitely stay here again and hope to bring my husband back if he doesn't mind the noise.”

• Ease of check-in, pleasant staff, accommodations as promised.
• Very busy in the breakfast area. Parking is pricy.

“This hotel met our expectations for what we needed. Roomy suites, overall very clean and comfortable. Could only recommend better pillows. Area seemed to be safe. No restaurants in immediate area. I would recommend this hotel. The kitchen area would be very useful for a longer stay.”

• The location was very convenient, and the hotel staff did an excellent job.
• Beds were a little uncomfortable.

“I would highly recommend this hotel to my family/friends. The hotel staff was excellent and very helpful. We had researched Montreal before going, but there was so much going on in the city when we were there. The concierge staff were the most friendly people, and told us about several festivals nearby that we were not aware of. When we would return in the evening, they would ask about our day. It was a nice touch, one that I have not seen at other hotels. The continental breakfast was very good, and they offered a lot of variety including eggs and bacon. It can get crowded at times, but there was always someone there restocking the food. The rooms are very spacious, ours had a fridge and microwave. It was very quiet too. The location made it very convenient for Old Montreal, Downtown, Chinatown, and the Subway to travel to other areas. I would definitely stay here again!”

• Good location , Friendly staff, nicely equipped rooms, great breakfast
• Noise, you can hear everything that's going on in the corridor

“Very friendly and professional staff. Clean and large sized comfortable rooms ours was with 2 Queen beds and a small attached sitting area as the next room with TV and sofa) Also you will appreciate their workable kitchenette supplied with Microwave, kettle and coffee maker-If you have family with young kids). It was really helpful as we went in heavy snow season. At $16 per night valet parking, but as it was convenient we chose to park within the premises. So overall it is recommended highly who want a comfortable stay without having much time to go looking for amenities The location is Downtown but beware if you are driving as the name of the street exists in the other parts of outskirts also. We lost our way but because of the friendly Canadian community were directed to the right place. It is next to the days inn in Downtown if in case you want to find it on a GPS system.”

• The maid did not clean the coffee mugs, coffee maker.

“This hotel is centrally located. The rooms are large suites, bigger than my city condo. The staff is friendly and efficient. However, the maid one day did not clean the grinds from the coffee maker, nor did she clean the coffee mugs. Everything else was cleaned well. When I mentioned this to the clerk when I was checking out, they apologized, gave me a free night parking - they told me that although they weren't trying to make excuses, the maid is new. I wasn't bothered by it and I thought it was nice of the hotel to offer a free night parking when I didn't even complain or ask for anything! As with most Holiday Inn Express, there is a complimentary breakfast, they have the best cinnamon rolls in the world!”

“Very clean efficiently run hotel. Was very spacious suite. A lot bigger than I expected. Bedding was simple and crisp white duvet and bed was super comfortable. Two televisions one in the bedroom and the other in the living room. I cannot express enough how this hotel more than exceeded my expectations. I would definitely recommend this hotel. And will hopefully stay here again.”

• I have stayed at the hotel three times; each time the service was exceptional. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. Everything was perfect.
• There is nothing about this hotel I did not like.

“On arrival with my sister and three children, we found that the room we were assigned was not large enough to accommodate us comfortably. I explained the problem to the reception desk, and we were upgraded to a wonderful, two bedroom suite at no extra charge. I give my highest recommendation to this hotel. This is the third time I¿ve stayed at this hotel and the hospitality and cleanliness has always been outstanding. Three stars are not enough for this hotel.”

• Long distance from tourist area. About a 8 to 10 block walk. Also very close to a bad neighborhood.

“Great hotel, rooms are nice. Very close to sty. Laurent, however, must walk through a shady neighborhood to get there. China town is fabulous and Catherine street is only a block away. It's a great deal for a cheap visit.”

• Very convenient to many points of interest in the city for people on a vacation.
• Really nothing bad to stay, we only stayed one night so couldn't rate cleaning service.

“Very convenient location for tourists as Chinatown, old Montréal and underground mall were all within walking distance. Staff was friendly and very helpful with maps and directions. The valet even let me know to move my car between 4 and 6pm, when for some reason, metered parking wasn't allowed after I had been there for several hours. There weren't many options for overnight parking so using the hotel service for about $19 was only choice. Overall a nice experience and well worth the price. Those Canadian taxes are steep however, and do add on to the price of everything.”

• Some of the staff were excellent and accommodating.
• I was not able to get the type of room I wanted.

“It's fine. It served its purpose, and I stayed for a reasonable price. I don't like that they say they accept pets but will charge $100 dollars non-refundable to bring a small dog. They did work with me on this issue. They seemed short-staffed. There was always only one person at the front desk. Because they often only had one bellhop/concierge, if you had a car that needed to be parked, then you had to take your luggage to your room on the cart while they parked the car. I am leaning towards not recommending this hotel only because there are so many nice hotels in this area.”

“Perfectly pleased with the accommodations We were only three or so blocks from Old Montreal - much closer to Chinatown. Downtown and a metro stop only a few blocks further. The rooms were a bit small but there was both a bedroom and separate living space. Additionally, our room had a small street facing balcony with a view of the top of the Hotel de Ville and other historic structures. The hotel staff was exceptionally friendly and the facilities were quite clean. I would highly recommend to subsequent travelers.”

• The hotel had all the amenities you could ask for considering the price-overall a great value.
• There wasn't a bar or any attractive women walking about.

• The rooms were very nice and spacious. The location was pretty good for the price paid.
• There is no room service and the valet parking system is unorganized and slow. There service was not satisfying at all.

“The hotel's rooms are pretty spacious. The hotel's location is in the midst of Montreal and close to Eaton Center, Saint Catherine, Saint Laurent and old Montreal. The sole problem in this hotel was the staff's service. There was absolutely no room service. After asking for toothpaste, it got to our room 7 hours later after asking for it over and over again. Valet parking is unorganized and slow, yet it does depend on the day of checkout (in my case, New Year's Day). Overall a good experience. Rooms are very nice and well priced, yet service is disappointing.”

• Large room, excellent quality, cleanliness, professional and friendly staff, great breakfast, suites are sweet.
• Though it's close to downtown and old Montreal, it's unfortunate that it's so close to the red light district too.

“Despite the hotel's proximity to the red light district, the quality of the hotel, its rooms and its staff exceeded my expectations by far. The fact that we were in a suite was an added treat, especially since we had to stay in one night due to the rain. I stayed in the best hotel of my life.”

“The hotel is centrally located, very convenient. However, the so called suite with kitchen, has no stove/pans/pots/plates/utensils what so ever. why bother to say it has a kitchen?We also called beforehand to request a crib, yet that request was not on file.There was one day we needed to get back to hotel before 2PM, and room was not cleaned yet. And when we left for 3 hours and left instruction to have the room cleaned, when we are back, the room was still the same.”

• The balcony overlooking the city and old Montreal was an unexpected bonus.

“I thought the hotel was a steal at the price I paid. Our room was a suite and the hotel offered free hi-speed internet in the room. I emailed the hotel and was able to combine reservations as well as request a non-smoking room. All in all I was pleased with the hotel location, staff and stay.”
