“This is not the 4 star hotel we were looking for. Everything about it was average or less than average. It would have been helpful to know the pool is closed for repairs before confirming our booking for us. The washroom was small and cramped and the TV was small. To be asked for $12.95 for WiFi is ridiculous today. The parking options were overpriced.” Nov 19, 2009 by
Sue from Dundas,Canada
“Definitely would stay here again.” Oct 28, 2009 by
Amy from Milton,Canada
“Hotel met expectations on room and expereince. Rooms were clean and service was adequate. Not the place to go if you want more attentive service.” Oct 15, 2009 by
Angelica from Milfrod,MA
“I did not like this hotel it's dirty and the people are not friendly this is not a 4 star hotel more like a one star the rooms are really dark and they look dirty in the bathroom of my room was a huge puddle of water and hair on the floor the cleaning lady did a awful job cleaning the rooms the only good thing about the hotel that's in a nice area in Montreal.” Sep 24, 2009 by
Juan from Norwalk,CT
“Good value hotel. Good location, clean, friendly staff, and cant go wrong.” Sep 22, 2009 by
Charles from Gatineau,Canada
“The access is a pain with the 2 levels; they rip you off for parking and the service doesn't overly impress.” Sep 18, 2009 by
Teresa from Mississauga,Canada
“Hyatt was not up to the same quality as the other Hyatt I stayed at in Jersey City. Bathroom tiles were moldy in the corners, wallpaper was peeling at corners due to moisture, no fan in room, no complimentary body lotion.” Sep 11, 2009 by
Ivetta from Falls Church,VA
“Modern, clean, located in the center of the city. Just a perfect choice. And we got if for a very good price - thank you priceline!” Sep 3, 2009 by
Janice from Vancouver,Canada
“Talked to the manager about our experience and he was of no help.” Aug 31, 2009 by
Debra from North Myrtle Beach,SC
“Bathroom ceiling cracked, molding around tub broken and moldy, carpet in room and hallways filthy!!! Road to hotel blocked off so had traffic problems, and couldn't figure out how to get to checkin--a worker removed blocking pilon to allow us access(felt sorry for us). Beds were comfortable; pool filled with kids, small, but nice.” Aug 26, 2009 by
Stephanie from Courtice,Canada
“Excellent stay, would highly recommend this hotel.” Aug 24, 2009 by
Sally from Ottawa,Canada
“The hotel looks very beautiful on the web site, but in actual fact our beds were very uncomfortable and the room was beside the very noisy ice machine.” Aug 24, 2009 by
Jason from Ottawa,Canada
“We went with our 2 year old son and everyone at the hotel was great.” Aug 20, 2009 by
Leslie from Spring Valley,NY
“Great location, the staff was very courteous.I don't feel staying anywhere else when I'll be in Montreal.I greatly enjoyed my stay at the Hyatt Regency Montreal.” Aug 17, 2009 by
Andrea from Ottawa,Canada
“Having recently stayed at 2 other Hyatt in the States, I have to admit that this one in Montreal did not even come close to comparing. We found the rooms quite basic and more comparable to a Holiday Inn/Best Western. The bathroom was pretty run down and the room itself had not had the best cleaning job.” Aug 1, 2009 by
Joe from Ocean,NJ
“I've stayed here before. Overall a good experience and I would stay here again.” Jul 19, 2009 by
Andrew D from Methuen,MA
“I had two rooms at this hotel. We have stayed in 3 stars and 4 stars hotels in the past. I am surprised that this hotel is 3.5 stars hotel. It needs a major renovation of the rooms, hallways, and reception area. TVs are old style and did not work well. Parking is a big issue especially if you need to take the car couple times a day.” Jul 6, 2009 by
Monica from North York,Canada
“Lovely hotel, overall clean & pleasant.” Jun 25, 2009 by
Vanessa from Embrun,Canada
“We were surprised at how nice it was for a 3.5 star. The staff was super friendly. We had reserved a crib with a late check-in and the front desk told us a crib would be at our room in 5 minutes and it was there promptly. We really liked the location and we walked everywhere. It was a little inaccessible for strollers/wheel chairs, just a hassle more than anything else and after a day we found the best route to take with the stroller. We did not eat here but it is attached to a mall/office tower and there were lots of choices without having to go outside. The pool was nice but the change rooms are being renovated which did not matter to us. We were able to regulate the temperature in our room no problem but with a little one we had to keep reminding him not to touch the heater because it was by the window and at his level so it was a bit too hot to the touch for him. The cleaning staff was great. The room was super clean. We checked in late so there was the standard number of towels, etc. The next day because we had our toddler with us, the cleaning staff left extra towels without us asking. They also made his bed and tidied up his toys - I can't say enough about how clean the room was. The front desk was super nice and when we came downstairs the next day the girl who checked us in recognized our son and said ‘hi’ to him. They were super helpful with any questions whether in English (me) or French (husband). There was a fridge in the room that was fantastic for us to keep the baby's milk and snacks in - it really came in handy for us and I think I would book again on that fact alone!” Jun 4, 2009 by
Lee from Corona,NY
“The hotel was great, the staff was friendly and knowledgeable. I would recommend it to everyone. the location was superb it was in the middle of everything so I was able to walk to to wherever I needed.” May 27, 2009 by
Todd from Lehighton,PA
“The shops on the lower levels were very convenient and access to other shopping/dining was plentiful at the Desjardens Plaza. The room I stayed in was oddly shaped. Entry to the bath and the closet was not very good. Hallways to the room were dim. Elevators were busy and needed two different ones to go from parking to room. Hotel staff was accommodating.” May 14, 2009 by
Earl from Vancouver,Canada
“OK place to stay. Staff treated us nicely. Was conveniently close to everything although that also means theres a lot of noise on the street.” May 13, 2009 by
Mary Pat from Peterborough,Canada
“Lovely old hotel near the old part of Montreal. International hotel not the Hyatt where we had our reservation there had been a fire an we were not told and had to try to rearrange our lodgings ourselves as we were not notified! Huge hassle for us.” May 7, 2009 by
from Toronto,Canada “Obviously you are not aware that Hyatt Regency hotel was closed down due to fire on my arrival and I was relocated to another hotel, much to my inconvenience after I paid for parking and went to the hotel to check in.” Apr 18, 2009 by
Evan from New York,NY
“Although the Hyatt chain generally has great hotels in the US, this hotel had a bit of an attitude. Firstly, desk clerk gave us the furthest possible room from elevator even though we were traveling with our 4 month old. Pool, while, nice, was only open from 1pm to 7pm which made it inconvenient. No concierge on duty for Easter Sunday and day after. Adjacent to shopping mall.” Apr 18, 2009 by
Sam from Toronto,Canada
“The hotel room is dated and in need of a major renovation.” Apr 15, 2009 by
Zakia from Markham,Canada
“Friendly service, convenient location, gorgeous rooms!” Apr 6, 2009 by
Jocko from London,Canada
“Great parking and a 10 minute walk to points of interest with elevator access to a great indoor mall and food court. Road construction made access dusty and inconvenient. The front desk staff was helpful and had a sense of business matters, including sending and receiving faxes.” Mar 15, 2009 by
Brad from Strathroy,Canada
“This was a very nice room located in a very central location. I didn't enjoy paying $10 for a coffee delivered to the room. I didn't like the fact that the internet was so expensive. I didn't like the parking cost, it was over $25 per day. There weren't enough face cloths and towels each day. It was a great room, had a really nice alarm clock/ipod docking station that I used frequently. The breakfast was amazing. The water pressure in the shower was great.” Mar 11, 2009 by
Dave from Toronto,Canada
“Great value.” Feb 24, 2009 by
Nancy from Woodbridge,Canada
“The hotel was clean with friendly staff. The mall is was located above was convenient. Pool, gym and sauna facilities were good but be careful to note their hours of operation.” Feb 22, 2009 by
Robin from Queensbury,NY
“Hotel staff and location made this an excellent choice! The Hyatt Regency is at the top of their game!” Jan 4, 2009 by
Ken from Bethlehem, PA
“Does not live up to the Hyatt name or reputation. Room was comfortable, although minibar had been removed leaving an empty cupboard where it once lived. Corridors dark and dingy, partially due to energy saving lighting, carpet and paint didn't help either. Tired looking in need of an overhaul. Elevator from parking garage to lobby had 1 car out of service, the remaining car needed adjustment as doors didn't close properly and it didn't move automatically. Housekeeping failed to make-up the room during the day, then made up excuses on hearing complaint, including: 'we couldn't get into the room, you weren't there' and 'yes, I know, but we don't have any staff today'. After more than 10 minutes on the phone, I was eventually transferred to the hotel manager who dutifully apologized and miraculously produced a maid within minutes. He graciously offered drinks at the hotel bar while we waited for the room to be prepared. Rowdy crowd in the middle of the night with 4 AM fire alarm evacuating the building into zero degree (F) weather. No fire, just drunk patrons. All in all, poorly run and lacking leadership.” Jan 4, 2009 by

“Great hotel with wonderful staff, co-located with mall and restaurants. Convenient to highways and downtown Montreal attractions. Bathrooms need some updating (specifically tubs).” Oct 18, 2008 by

“This hotel's convenient location to La Ronde, Chinatown was perfect for us. The hotel was attached to a mall that had a lovely place to eat called MBC (Montreal Bread Company). Beds were so comfortable. The pool was large and deep with great views, comfortable seating areas.

“It is a very nice hotel. However, the pool was in renovation.” Sep 14, 2008 by
Don from Athelstan, QC CA
“I would rate it as a 2 star for now. Carpets, elevators and our room for sure as well as other areas of the hotel need cleaning and touch ups.” Sep 11, 2008 by
Robert H. from Richmond Hill, ON CA
“Hotel is upscale as you expect from a Hyatt Regency. Very friendly helpful staff. Room was nice but ventilation not so great and could not adjust room temperature well. Bed was great, a pillow top mattress. Good facilities, nice gym, other shopping close. Well situated in downtown Montréal. Very good.” Sep 9, 2008 by

“One of the rooms was a corner room that did not include a fridge, area tour guides/attractions and the TV remote!” Sep 3, 2008 by
Jan from Atl, GA
“Great hotel. Terrific staff from car valet, bell captain, front desk and concierge. Very helpful, informative and accommodating. Everything was great. Valet parking is pricey, and was more than I was told it would be when I phoned, but service with valet was outstanding. Very short wait for car delivery. Also we were irritated with charge for internet service in the room. Business center charges also. This was all very different from other hotels we have stayed at in Montreal, with similar and higher star ratings. Otherwise all was terrific, and we will return to this property.” Sep 2, 2008 by
Stephen from Acton, MA
“Great location, and a nice mall under the hotel. Close to Chinatown and the impressive Basilica Notre Dame church. Pool was closed for renovation, free passes to YMCA offered, but not convenient.” Sep 2, 2008 by
“The pool was closed! Noboby told Aug 31, 2008 by

“The hotel staff was friendly and polite. We asked them to provide us with a room with 2 double beds as there were three of us traveling in a family. They did it and we enjoyed everything during our short stay. I will highly recommend you to everyone I know.” Aug 31, 2008 by

“NA.” Aug 22, 2008 by
Joe from Rutherford, NJ
“If you are solo traveler, this hotel is good for you. Not for business travel, since connecting to internet to access your office computer was almost impossible. This hotel is situated at the beginning of Red Light District on Ste Catherine Street, avoid that street if you are with children. It is convenient, because you can have access to Montreal underground shopping/eateries right from the hotel lobby, if you are single or don't have under aged children, this hotel is for you, although outside of hotel from Jeanne-Mance street looks pretty seedy place, inside is ok.” Aug 19, 2008 by
Raffi from Tinton Falls, NJ
“I was not pleased with the floor lighting: too dark in the hallways, old carpets. The hotel shows its age: circa 1968. Our room was a disaster mostly due to the maid who forgot to do regular maintenance items: re-supply missing items; make the bed correctly, vacuum floor; the essentials! Had a running water problem (leaky flap in the toilet) and complained to the lobby attendant. They sent someone to take care of. However the same day the problem re-materialized. They did not attempt to locate or fix (replace flap and adjust the handle) the problem just re-seated the same flap. The water in the bath tub was not draining well. Told lobby but problem was not resolved. The remote was not working in the room; they replaced it after complain. This should have been detected/tested by the maid when room is made. The access from the hotel to the main street or the mall/food court requires going through 2 sets of elevators. A minor nuisance if done once but when repeated several times a day it becomes a nuisance. The gym had a treadmill (1 out of 2) with a not functioning TV set. In summary I have seen better 3 star hotels. I would avoid this one for sure. It looks like maintenance is ignored in this hotel!” Aug 14, 2008 by
Ken from London, ON CA
“The hotel was centrally located in the heart of Downtown Montreal. The front doors opened onto the shopping area of St. Catherine's street and Old Montreal was 10 minutes walk away. Rooms were spacious and clean and the staff friendly.” Aug 10, 2008 by
Ariff from Aurora, ON CA
“The Hotel is well located in downtown Montreal, close to most attractions including old Montreal. The Hotel has many of the facilities that we were seeking; but, unfortunately, the hotel staff were on strike during our stay; so, there was no use of the pool, no maid service, no room service, no fresh linens/towels, no valet parking. Under normal conditions, the hotel would have provided us with a very good stay.”
