“This was a very nice room located in a very central location. I didn't enjoy paying $10 for a coffee delivered to the room. I didn't like the fact that the internet was so expensive. I didn't like the parking cost, it was over $25 per day. There weren't enough face cloths and towels each day. It was a great room, had a really nice alarm clock/ipod docking station that I used frequently. The breakfast was amazing. The water pressure in the shower was great.” Mar 11, 2009 by
Dave from Toronto,Canada
“Great value.” Feb 24, 2009 by

“The hotel was clean with friendly staff. The mall is was located above was convenient. Pool, gym and sauna facilities were good but be careful to note their hours of operation.” Feb 22, 2009 by
Robin from Queensbury,NY
“Hotel staff and location made this an excellent choice! The Hyatt Regency is at the top of their game!” Jan 4, 2009 by
Ken from Bethlehem, PA
“Does not live up to the Hyatt name or reputation. Room was comfortable, although minibar had been removed leaving an empty cupboard where it once lived. Corridors dark and dingy, partially due to energy saving lighting, carpet and paint didn't help either. Tired looking in need of an overhaul. Elevator from parking garage to lobby had 1 car out of service, the remaining car needed adjustment as doors didn't close properly and it didn't move automatically. Housekeeping failed to make-up the room during the day, then made up excuses on hearing complaint, including: 'we couldn't get into the room, you weren't there' and 'yes, I know, but we don't have any staff today'. After more than 10 minutes on the phone, I was eventually transferred to the hotel manager who dutifully apologized and miraculously produced a maid within minutes. He graciously offered drinks at the hotel bar while we waited for the room to be prepared. Rowdy crowd in the middle of the night with 4 AM fire alarm evacuating the building into zero degree (F) weather. No fire, just drunk patrons. All in all, poorly run and lacking leadership.” Jan 4, 2009 by

Housekeeping failed to make up the room and then made up lame excuses on hearing my complaint including: we couldn't get into the room, you weren't there and yes, I know, but we don't have any staff today. “Great hotel with wonderful staff, co-located with mall and restaurants. Convenient to highways and downtown Montreal attractions. Bathrooms need some updating (specifically tubs).” Oct 18, 2008 by

“This hotel's convenient location to La Ronde, Chinatown was perfect for us. The hotel was attached to a mall that had a lovely place to eat called MBC (Montreal Bread Company). Beds were so comfortable. The pool was large and deep with great views, comfortable seating areas.

“It is a very nice hotel. However, the pool was in renovation.” Sep 14, 2008 by
Don from Athelstan, QC CA
“I would rate it as a 2 star for now. Carpets, elevators and our room for sure as well as other areas of the hotel need cleaning and touch ups.” Sep 11, 2008 by
Robert H. from Richmond Hill, ON CA
“Hotel is upscale as you expect from a Hyatt Regency. Very friendly helpful staff. Room was nice but ventilation not so great and could not adjust room temperature well. Bed was great, a pillow top mattress. Good facilities, nice gym, other shopping close. Well situated in downtown Montréal. Very good.” Sep 9, 2008 by

“One of the rooms was a corner room that did not include a fridge, area tour guides/attractions and the TV remote!” Sep 3, 2008 by
Jan from Atl, GA
“Great hotel. Terrific staff from car valet, bell captain, front desk and concierge. Very helpful, informative and accommodating. Everything was great. Valet parking is pricey, and was more than I was told it would be when I phoned, but service with valet was outstanding. Very short wait for car delivery. Also we were irritated with charge for internet service in the room. Business center charges also. This was all very different from other hotels we have stayed at in Montreal, with similar and higher star ratings. Otherwise all was terrific, and we will return to this property.” Sep 2, 2008 by
Stephen from Acton, MA
“Great location, and a nice mall under the hotel. Close to Chinatown and the impressive Basilica Notre Dame church. Pool was closed for renovation, free passes to YMCA offered, but not convenient.” Sep 2, 2008 by
“The pool was closed! Noboby told Aug 31, 2008 by

“The hotel staff was friendly and polite. We asked them to provide us with a room with 2 double beds as there were three of us traveling in a family. They did it and we enjoyed everything during our short stay. I will highly recommend you to everyone I know.” Aug 31, 2008 by

“NA.” Aug 22, 2008 by
Joe from Rutherford, NJ
“If you are solo traveler, this hotel is good for you. Not for business travel, since connecting to internet to access your office computer was almost impossible. This hotel is situated at the beginning of Red Light District on Ste Catherine Street, avoid that street if you are with children. It is convenient, because you can have access to Montreal underground shopping/eateries right from the hotel lobby, if you are single or don't have under aged children, this hotel is for you, although outside of hotel from Jeanne-Mance street looks pretty seedy place, inside is ok.” Aug 19, 2008 by
Raffi from Tinton Falls, NJ
“I was not pleased with the floor lighting: too dark in the hallways, old carpets. The hotel shows its age: circa 1968. Our room was a disaster mostly due to the maid who forgot to do regular maintenance items: re-supply missing items; make the bed correctly, vacuum floor; the essentials! Had a running water problem (leaky flap in the toilet) and complained to the lobby attendant. They sent someone to take care of. However the same day the problem re-materialized. They did not attempt to locate or fix (replace flap and adjust the handle) the problem just re-seated the same flap. The water in the bath tub was not draining well. Told lobby but problem was not resolved. The remote was not working in the room; they replaced it after complain. This should have been detected/tested by the maid when room is made. The access from the hotel to the main street or the mall/food court requires going through 2 sets of elevators. A minor nuisance if done once but when repeated several times a day it becomes a nuisance. The gym had a treadmill (1 out of 2) with a not functioning TV set. In summary I have seen better 3 star hotels. I would avoid this one for sure. It looks like maintenance is ignored in this hotel!” Aug 14, 2008 by
Ken from London, ON CA
“The hotel was centrally located in the heart of Downtown Montreal. The front doors opened onto the shopping area of St. Catherine's street and Old Montreal was 10 minutes walk away. Rooms were spacious and clean and the staff friendly.” Aug 10, 2008 by
Ariff from Aurora, ON CA
“The Hotel is well located in downtown Montreal, close to most attractions including old Montreal. The Hotel has many of the facilities that we were seeking; but, unfortunately, the hotel staff were on strike during our stay; so, there was no use of the pool, no maid service, no room service, no fresh linens/towels, no valet parking. Under normal conditions, the hotel would have provided us with a very good stay.” Aug 8, 2008 by
Frank from Toronto, ON CA
“The hotel had it's glorious days. To attract more customers, they need to do some renovation.” Aug 7, 2008 by
Jacqueline from Franklin Lakes, NJ
“Nice room. Generally clean room. Great location. Room smelled of smoke although specifically requested non-smoking room. Workers were on strike, so no clean towels or room service.” Aug 6, 2008 by
Feisal from Garfield, NJ
“The staff was on strike. The gentleman I spoke to was rude. I did get a very professional lady the 2nd time I called the hotel and I got my room minus services. Why did the gentleman not know how to deal with me? Why was he so rude?” Aug 6, 2008 by
Lise from Kitchener, ON CA
“Very nice hotel, clean and staff was accommodating it was too bad the staff was in part on strike and the pool and room service was closed traveling with our toddler we would have liked to use these services.” Aug 5, 2008 by
Dan from Ottawa, ON CA
“There was construction outside the front door plus the workers were on strike and picketing. Besides that, great hotel, great price, lovely getaway.” Aug 5, 2008 by
Viktor from Chicago, IL
“The workers in the hotel were in strike, so it jeopardizes my capacity of evaluate the hotel overall. But definitely older.” Aug 4, 2008 by
Jarrett from Toronto, ON CA
“Prime location, you don't have to leave the place if you don't want to. The staff is great, the bar is nice, the patio and pool are an oasis in the downtown Montreal and the mall beneath the hotel offers everything in terms of food, beverages, dining and anything else you may need. If you want to stay downtown and be close to everything stay the Hyatt-Regency in downtown Montreal!” Aug 4, 2008 by
Feisal from Garfield, NJ
“One of the hotel staff, a gentleman, was very rude to me on the phone when I called from Dorval Airport to enquire about room and the staff strike. I would like to know why the gentleman at the hotel was so rude and why he couldn't have told me my room was ready when his colleague was able to do that for me. She was courteous and professional.” Aug 4, 2008 by
Anthony from Toronto, ON CA
“A very good stay. Room was well-furnished, but the bathroom faucets were a bit dated. Getting to the lobby requires an elevator trip, then another trip to the room. Great connection to underground city and Metro. Good location. Second night of my stay had to evacuate at 4am for an actual fire (on the outdoor terrace) - beyond the hotel's control, but they did deliver truffles and a letter to my room to compensate.” Jul 30, 2008 by
Cindy from Gatineau, QC CA
“Overall, it was a nice hotel and convenient for shopping.” Jul 11, 2008 by
Mathew from Ottawa, ON CA
“Great facilities. Not enough focus on customer. Always a line up to check in and worse, other staff hanging around behind the counter, but not opening another check in position. The night I stayed, the cleaning people were on strike. But they thought it would be good to start cleaning my floor at 1 in the morning! The hotel should have either prevented this from happening, or not sold me a room.” Jul 11, 2008 by
Jim from Richmond, BC CA
“Came during the Jazz Festival so was very busy. Great location as everything was walking distance Rooms were nice and tidy but no daily housekeeping service. Pool was shut down during our stay which really disappointed the kids. I wish they had told us ahead of time that there was a strike going on at the time.” Jul 10, 2008 by
Bob from Buffalo, NY
“After driving 8 hours to get to the hotel, we were very disappointed to find that no rooms were ready when we arrived. Some staff was on strike, so I'm sure it was not the typical experience, but none the less it was extremely frustrating. When we finally managed to get a room it was attractive and comfortable. However we were awakened early in the morning by whistle blowing from the striking staff outside of the hotel. The hotel is connected to the parking garage, as well as the underground shopping complex, but there is not adequate signage to let you know how to navigate from one place to the other, and it took us a few days before we were able to feel comfortable with the confusing layout and multiple elevators in various locations. Overall it was a disappointing experience, but this was due largely to the unique circumstances.” Jul 9, 2008 by
Engy from London, ON CA
“Perfect location, nice view from room. Center of all the festivals that take place, walking distance from every where. A huge mall right under the hotel, cheap parking. It was a good experience in general.” Jul 3, 2008 by
Cortney from Bear, DE
“Friendly staff with great restaurants surrounding--highly recommend hotel for travelers to Montreal.” Jun 30, 2008 by
Diane from Moose Creek, ON CA
“I highly recommend this hotel. It is upscale with beautiful decor and restful rooms. The staff were professional and friendly. Room service was prompt. The food was excellent in quality and presentation.” Jun 27, 2008 by
Carl from Dawsonville, GA
“Travel to Montreal often for business. Company headquarters. Will and have recommended this property to peers.” Jun 16, 2008 by
Steven from Chicago, IL
“Hotel was fine. Cleaning staff horribly rude and loud early in the morning.” Jun 15, 2008 by
Vinny from Franklin Park, NJ
“Hotel is in a great location for people who want to visit the city using the Metro. If you are visiting Montreal, use the Metro and you will save a lot of money and hassles. Parking and internet are extra and expensive at this hotel. $26 for parking and $14 for internet. Park yourself in the Complexe Des Jardins and save some money and use the Metro to get around the city. Room was decent. Bathroom has very poor lighting.” Jun 3, 2008 by
Trinette from Newton, MA
“The hotel was in an excellent location, but when checked in very late around 2 a.m., we did not find the staff to be very friendly. The overall experience at the hotel was good though. The beds were comfy and it served our purposes for the weekend, but the rooms had bad lighting and were kind of dark and with no fan in the bathroom or the ability to open a window, the room could get stuffy and uncomfortable after someone takes a shower in the room and the heat pours out into the common area. We found it difficult to spend any extended period of time in the hotel because of the ventilation issue. Needless to say, the dryness that the air conditioner in the room produced also added to the ventilation problem. Driving directions to the hotel are horrible. Eventually, after driving around in the dark down desolate roads for an hour or so, we called the hotel for directions and they gave us a more direct route. It is also important to note that the signage in Canada was very poor and one should plan to cross into Canada if they are driving during daylight hours because absolutely nothing was open nor was there a gas station to get better directions or a map.” May 29, 2008 by
Marlee from Manchester, NH
“The hotel was in the best location! It was on the main shopping street directly between the clubs and the old city. If it was ever too far from something to walk, the Metro was less than a block away. The hotel was well decorated and the staff was friendly. Overall, it was a great experience!” May 28, 2008 by
Andy from Orlando, FL
“Everything was the best of what anyone could have asked for.” May 28, 2008 by
Chris from Winipeg, MB CA
“Great location Downtown Montral. Helpful staff.” May 28, 2008 by
Kyoungmo A. from Cresskill, NJ
“Room was ok, but not that comfortable. Hotel staff manners were bad.” May 25, 2008 by
Jonavin from Markham, ON CA
“A great location Downtown and excellent rooms. My only complaint with this hotel is that you had to take two sets of elevators; one to get from the street/parking to the lobby on the 6th floor, and a second to get to your room that oddly starts has its own set of floor numbering. This is really just a nit pick since often you don't have to wait more than 10 seconds for an elevator.” May 22, 2008 by
Christine from Kanata, ON CA
“It was a very attractive modern looking hotel. We liked the duvet and the generous amount of pillows on the bed. It was so close to great shopping. The terrace looked to be lovely too.” May 22, 2008 by
Indu R. from Milton, ON CA
“Overall, good hotel for price. Pretty central to main attractions and night life. The rooms are a bit crammed for the price, however it was fairly decent. Friendly staff.” May 22, 2008 by
Andrey K. from Toronto, ON CA
“First of all, the location is great! You're already downtown, so you can walk to Chinatown and Old Montreal and Old Port. As well, a Subway station was located underground via mall so that was convenient as well. The concierge was very friendly and helpful and the hotel staff was great. I would not recommend room service as it is too costly and the dessert I ordered was not worth $13 (cake and ice cream). The room was pleasantly decorated but I found it a little smaller that the Hilton and Marriot. There was a small square on the wall that was an eye sore just because it looked like. It needed renovation but with that said it was a great room and lovely place to stay at. The most negative thing I had to say was that the pool was under renovations that weekend I stay so I did not get to enjoy it, as well as there was construction going on in front of the Hyatt which was quite annoying!” Hotel Representatives:
